This is a cartoon for kids. Huge plot holes for calling them dumb when in the last Season of Episode 1 teletran 1 warns them of the Constructions intruding on their base & they quickly understood that. Then in this episode they fly but now can't at the end.
Spikes main achievements are swearing in the movie. Also showing kids, the importance of work boots and occasionally a hard hat, when around machinery. True icon.
I mean it seems very easy to go on Cybertron in this show... Maybe the bots that were still there decided to join Optimus, and the same goes for the cons.
I've always assumed they were all staying on Cybertron and decided to join everyone on earth, Optimus did say in an episode in season one that there were still friends in Cybertron
it's confirmed that all of autobot flying with jetpack, except the aircraft transformation. you can see in season 1 when optimus borrowed sideswiped's jetpack to after decepticons. But this was 80's show, they were ignore some details like using jetpack. Modern incarnations of Starscream aren't seeking to stroke their egos, they have genuine (and completely-valid) concerns with how their Megatrons are running things. The IDW 2005 incarnation, for example, believed Megatron had forgotten why he started the war to begin with, the Bayverse incarnation wants Megatron gone because the latter is about as sane as G1 Galvatron, and TF1 Starscream was overthrown by his Megatron, so he's got a very good reason to try and reclaim leadership.
Dinobot Island is still one of the best stories ever seen because we had so much fun learning about the dinosaurs. Also we learned so many life lessons from watching the Transformers Generation one .
I had a similar experience in the early 90s watching Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and the first Jurassic Park film. At perfect timing, my 2nd grade science teacher had us learn about dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures which got 8 year old me excited.
yeah. Here he needs autobots to save him from cassetes and in third season he is bravily going with Rodimus and Blitzwing to ambush on Shartikons. For me most badass Spike was in Rebirth. He created Fortress Maximus and was his head.
It’s a shame Dinobot Island wasn’t used or expanded upon in any other TF series. Closest one was Animated, but that’s about it. Kinda wish they’d bring back the island in some way. Maybe include more dinoformers other than the just Grimlock and the gang.
They have expanded the Dinobot ranks if you count other continuities additions, including Slash, Strafe, Scorn, Skar, Grimstone, Grimmaster, & Paddles. Also, apparently, Baby Dinobots from the Bay movies.
9:27 Soundwave surely is Megatron's right hand man. Bro has proven his allegience to Megatron, head and shoulders above all the other "disappointing" Decepticons.🤣🤣🤣🤣🙌
You'd think the Dinobots would be a little more ticked off at the fact that the autobots are basically kicking them out. And Swoop would be at least a little homesick. But hay. They must be going under "Dinosaurs cool, me likey". Despite the fact that there alternate modes are Dinosaurs. But I can totally agree with them. If I was a dinobot. I too would wanna see real Dinosaurs too.
like they want to help the autobots but they are too big and powerful and training them as already shown is painful whenever it takes place but I do believe in at least a logical context it would have been a good idea to have at least wheeljack on the island as well helping them and improving their weaponry at from time to time
love G1 Bee. hes such a well thought out character. my dad had one of those fancy models with all the bits and pieces standing on his work desk where i had the Transformers Prime Bee standing on mine.
Funny story: I definitely think this was inspired by Marvel's The Savage Land: isolated island with dinosaurs and achres of wilderness on it? Heck in the Marvel Transformers comic, the dinobots got their alt modes FROM the Savage Land, and here they are in the cartoon stomping about dinosaur island. Feels like more than a coincidence.
The animation in this episode is definitely a step up from previous episodes. More fluid and dynamic animation, and the art itself more dynamic. Seems like the colors are all a bit dulled, though, but it’s nice to have an upgrade.
Every Dinobot episode was epic but the Dinobot Island two parter for me was the best one, aside from introducing us to tons of new Autobots and a few new Decepticons too, we got to spend more time with the Dinobots with every individual member getting a good amount of decent screen time especially Grimlock who really came into his own as a leader and they were fleshed out more as a team. It was cool to see the Dinobots act as their own unit instead of always being used as only backup to stop disasters or even up the sides during battles against the Decepticons. Even though they display aggressive animalistic traits in personalities from time to time, in their hearts, the Dinobots are very much Autobots, whether they'll want to admit it or not.
