Ahhhhhhhhhh ... lol jk. That’s exciting.. it was such a memorable drive for us... :) thanks for the comment. If you make a video be sure to let me know
Great footage, in 1979 I was backpacking (from UK) and did Perth to Sydney on a Greyhound bus......4 days non stop. I swore that as long as my backside pointed down I would never do it again. No technology those days to record what you did and I'm very grateful to be able to see all the things I missed. In those four days I fell in love with Australia and I still live here in love with Gods country :)
Great video you made , it is a good drive across Australia , and the nullabor I think it's even better if you can do it slow , I sat on 80 kph in an old rattly military 4wd many years ago 😁, Stayed in rest areas mostly , as a city dweller it is not often you can wake up and hear absolutely dead silence apart from a vehicle breaking the silence every now and again. I remember getting to a servo at one stage just as they where shutting up shop , I had to sleep in the car next to the Bowser 😆. Night driving you see vehicle lights coming at you and dip your high beams, wait and wait and wait , 10 minutes later that vehicle finally gets to you 😀. Every one should do the nullabor at least once , it is a good drive . All the best to you peeps.

thanks for the kind words Clark!! I really appreciate it :) everyone told us/warned us about this road, but we look back on it like it was a real fun adventure
Woah, stunning drone footage again. Those cliffs are epic!!! Worth the drive just for that view I reckon. And I was surprised to see that much shrub out there at 5:35.. beautiful! Looks so cool from the air.
The thing with the Nullarbor and the Ceduna SA to Norseman WA drive through the Eyre highway, is that no video can capture the feeling of utter inner peace and magic that a night of camping by the cliffs brings you. Truly the most magical place I’ve ever been to in my life, and the highlight of my very recent trip to Australia. Watching this video tearing up with nostalgia.
Very late to the party here, but I'm planning a road trip to Australia when things go back to normal... How long would I need to drive this road from Norseman to Port Augusta?
oh ya? how is it working out there? do you work in a road house or doing something else... everyone warned us about the Nullarbor but I thought I was one of my favorite parts of Australia
Great footage , have done this trip a few times ,keep telling my wife we have to get out of the congested hell hole that is Melbourne now and go west again. Cheers
Haha ya definitely need to get out of that and stretch your legs. Although melbourne you have some amazing places just a couple hours away... Wilson’s prom and great ocean road. Great vid guys. I just bought a DJI Mavic Pro, you’ve given me some ideas! I must have driven the Nullarbor hundreds of times over the years. First drove it when it was a dirt road from Nundroo to the WA border.
Hey thanks so much :) I want to go back and fly it again... my drone gimbal was broken on that leg of the trip and it was just killing me to try and get not jittery footage. If you get any video let me know I would love to see it
You did well if the gimbal was broken! The DJI Go 4 app makes tracking so easy once you’re used to it. Next trip across there will probably be February (hottest time of the year!) so I’ll send you a link if it turns out ok. Still practicing at the moment.
Drove across the Nullarbor in Jan 1970 in a VW beetle (the three of us). The bit between Ceduna and Eucla was still unsealed back then. Drove all the way from Melbourne to Perth including down to Esperance and Albany and back to Melb.
I remember doing this about a year ago, 4 kids ages 12,9,7 and 1 we drove from Perth to Victoria cause I'm Aussie 😂 not the best way to do it 😂 especially cause we drove all 36 hours in 3 days and we visited everywhere we could in that time my gosh it was hectic
@@MrBlackReviews surprisingly not too many, we stayed overnight on a closed off highway the furst fay and left at 3 in the morning to continue driving, we then stayed overnight in remark as we were ahead quite a few hours, it then was real stormy so we just drove and only stopped for petrol and toilet stops but it was overall a great experience, we didn't get to stop and see many attractions but we saw the big gash and orange, and quite a few things you see from the car, we also stopped at the bight, 😂
Hello Sir, thanks for this video. I was looking for more info though. I am travelling from Launceston Tasmania to Perth. I will stay one night in Adelaide. Could you please suggest me please what could be best next possible stay like town or motel ?? How many service stations and motels comes on the way ? And what and where is the longest drive where is no service station or twin in between ? After that I will stop for night in Esperance where I lived for 2 years before heading to Perth. Thanks 🙏
Ya funny thing is at the begging of this road trip people were “so worried” about us taking our Sedan so we bought a kombie but had a problem with it just before this leg of the trip and rented this car. I think a more fuel efficient car is super important out there. You guys will have a blast it’s a long drive but there are some really pretty stops along the way :)
Great footage ,great to relive my trip from May/June 2018 ,that was a 33 day trip on a bike half the nights at friends and relo's quarter camping in swag on the road side and the rest in caravan parks,hotels/motels.
Glad you enjoyed the drive, it os one of the best drives I have had in my life, the cliffs are awesome! It topk me 2 1/2 days to do the same trip, bit I had 3 dogs with me that had to be walked every few hours on a lead as there are baits set all the way across, my dogs thought it was heaven when they were allowed off lead at the Esperence Show Grounds. I also stopped and did a heap of sight seeing and still did not see everything. Did you know Sky Lab crashed on the Nullarbour back in the 70s?
I had no idea about that Skylab crash! I almost want to do that drive again and like you, spend more time on it. Dogs weren’t allowed off lead on the drive? It was a highlight of a drive!!

Just done this on my own from Melbourne to Perth and back over the 2018-2019 new year and have to say was one of the BEST experiences of my life. I would love to do it again.
black susursuroblack surprisingly on my travel I drove over 3 dead ones and had minimal damage to my commodore. Though theres a lot of fur and blood under my car now hahaha
Don't drive it at night, the Roo's and Wombats come out big time and highly likely you will hit one at night and a Wombat can flip your car if you hit it, even a KW bull bar will suffer a fair size dent hitting one. If you follow a truck close be ready for a mass of mince fur, bone and meat to fly out from the back of the trailer when the truck hits it (m/cyclist beware.) and that leaves a mess on the car that will stink bad when you stop in the daytime heat.
thanks so much Drew. I think the hardest part about this video is that I had too much footage.. because there was not much else to do so I kept the camera out lol
Another 6 months and im travelling our mighty country with my son. This is a challenge i cant wait to do. Heard its a long, boring, tiring road. Sounds fun 😅🤔😂💛💚💛💚

Joe Stuart: It only LOOKS flat & for all practical purposes, it is flat. But, unfortunately for you & your junk science-based beliefs, the earth has been proven to be spherical centuries before people like you claimed that NASA is behind the conspiracy of covering up the "truth" of the earth's "real" shape being flat.
They definitely didn’t watch the famous Australian movie “Wolf Creek” before taking this long drive ...... 😁guys watch it before driving all the way to such remote Australian areas ...
Oh I still have yet to watch it!! But I heard about it before and people told me not to watch it lol. When we did the pass on the north there was a sign that said wolf creek -> (but I didn’t turn lol)
Dare Devil it’s pure fiction. It’s based on Ivan Milat who didn’t live anywhere near wolf creek. He was from Sydney and picked up backpackers on a couple occasions then took them into the national park where he murdered them There’s nothing in that movie than remotely based on his killings apart from the fact he killed backpackers
+Rich Simms thanks so much. Ya that was a tough one too because I had a broken gimbal (you can see it mess up every now and then) but luckily I was able to put in those shots... I need to go back!!

Just a short trip by a couple of Noddies. I did the WHOLE trip, Sydney to Perth via Broken Hill. Norseman. Hopetoun, Albany and Freemantle, then up WA to Carnarvon in December 2002. {And back] What a trip. !!!
This particular one was the phantom 4 with a broken gimbal (I crashed a couple weeks before that) as far as music I just looked on TH-cam for copyright free music

+cjeremie haha ya.. many times... I think I wouldn't be able to do it... this was fun for the first few hours, flying the drone by the Cliffs... then just long long long but you know that
Great video mate, especially the drone footage. I've done that crossing by road 40 times between 1964 and 1999, from the days of durt tracks, black and white brownie box camera and 8mm movie film, through to sealed road, Canon SLR camera and video 8 movie camera. I'm just about to do that trip again in teo weeks time,..over to Perth and W.A. and back to Adelaide, over a 4 week trip only this time I'll have better cameras, still and video,...and a Phantom 3 drone. I am assuming from your drone footage that you were able to use the 'follow me' mode in the Phantom,..very, very effective from the air. Very interested to know if that was controlled by the passenger or by automatic setting and at what speed was the drone able to 'keep up' with your car. Basically, could it all be done on automatic by just the driver. The one 'ammusing aspect' was your comment,...'City' of Cocklebiddy,....😄...They'll love you for that title,..lol

I drove across the Nullarbor, back in 1975, going west to Perth.
wow that must have been a while experience back then!!!
Did this drive from Perth to Adelaide with my wife in a 6 seat camper, great memories :)
Ya I loved it. I always tell people that it was one of my highlights driving around Australia
@@MrBlackReviews awesome video, showed my wife too :)
Another 6 months and im travelling our mighty country with my son. This is a challenge i cant wait to do. Heard its a long, boring, tiring road. Sounds fun 😅🤔😂💛💚💛💚
oh wow thats awesome!!! will you be documenting it for youtube? honestly i want to do it again!
@@MrBlackReviews yes definitely will be mate. Hoping to grow my channel a little by then so the whole world can see our travels across Australia. Camping, fishing, hunting, eating at different pubs and restaurants and so much content hopefully 🤞🎣💞😁
Oh awesome. I’ll be sure to subscribe and relive it!
@@MrBlackReviews sounds good mate, thanks. 😎👍🍻
you have great footage guys, it helps prove the earth is flat.
joe stuart haha it certainly felt flat on that long long long straight drive
When we did the pass on the north there was a sign that said wolf creek -> (but I didn’t turn lol)
where is danny black oh you need to that movie is actually based on a real life incident so yeah lol
Dare Devil it’s pure fiction. It’s based on Ivan Milat who didn’t live anywhere near wolf creek. He was from Sydney and picked up backpackers on a couple occasions then took them into the national park where he murdered them
There’s nothing in that movie than remotely based on his killings apart from the fact he killed backpackers
I stayed in exactly the same motel room in Ceduna as you guys did it looks like...right on the end.
Haha that’s awesome... was the place a ghost town as well???
How long would it take from Melbourne to Perth on that road?
36 hours!
That road seems endless and i love it .Enjoy your trip love louisa
I have done tis trip in 2011....Just me. No stormtroopers. Just after Norseman, our car breaksdown.
noooo way... omg that would be a nightmare!!!! I feel like that would be an good story to tell, since you've survived
So nice, thanks for the video
Thanks so much :)
excellent content, was fun to watch
Wait, have you never seen water mirages on the road before? You can see them on the freeway in most American cities
oh, this should be the runway of fast&furious 6 lol
Haha absolutely ... we should just make our own FF6
Great you guys are awesome
What's weird about seeing another human wave when you might not see another human for many hours? Nothing. In Australia, we are friendly..
Aussies are friendly! I love living here :)
where are you originally from? how did you end up in Australia? You probably already covered this in another video.....great videography btw!
Met my wife working on cruise ships ... she’s an Aussie, and that’s the gist I think we do cover it somewhere amongst the videos lol
Wow what a kool twip, kool couple, nice
Thanks Kamira :)
nice drone shots dude!
+Rich Simms thanks so much. Ya that was a tough one too because I had a broken gimbal (you can see it mess up every now and then) but luckily I was able to put in those shots... I need to go back!!
I’m going to be cycling through that madness soon, will probably take like 10 days!
Omg that’s amazing !!! Seriously I couldn’t imagine what an awesome feet that will be to accomplish!!! Best of luck … will you be documenting it ?
@@MrBlackReviews yeah I sure will! Won’t be on my channel until like December because I am actually riding from my home (Gold Coast) then probably to Melbourne, Adelaide, and then the Nullarbor straight to Perth haha! Just trying to practice to vlog before I leave so the vids are more interesting 😂
what genre is that music, Cassy plays that kind of music also.
hey thanks! ya I'm not sure the genre but I did get those earlier songs from the same artists Casey was using because they were Copyright free songs. He was a big inspiration of putting together these videos around Australia! I'm doing the same thing around America in 4 weeks
What speeds do people drive at?
Speed limit is 110kph but a few cars speed. Road trains can do 100kph.
Awesome video!! What month were you there?
This was October ... seemed like the perfect time
crazy stuff alright that is one long drive your keen ... "another"
always up for a great road trip!!!
The reason for the wave is to if your awake
what are the songs you used on this video, i cant find them and i'm digging them
oh shoot I can't even remember now.. it was like some copyright free stuff I found on youtube... I wanna say its like Dylan or Jimmy Square
Just a short trip by a couple of Noddies. I did the WHOLE trip, Sydney to Perth via Broken Hill. Norseman. Hopetoun, Albany and Freemantle, then up WA to Carnarvon in December 2002. {And back] What a trip. !!!
Wow that sounds incredible... I love those kinds of trips because you can feel accomplished!! I’m actually in Fremantle right now (on a cruise ship)
$1.64 for petrol
"That's really expensive"
*Cries in $2.25"
what drone did you use? Awesome video!
It was a phantom 4 and a broken gimbal too 😭 I did my best to keep it from looking to wobbly
It's a West Eyre / Nullabor thing that we locals wave to all other drivers 👋
14 hours??????? What did you do for the extra 2 hours?????
thats confidential ! haha
_“He still needs to drive hundreds and hundreds of miles...”_ - Richard Hammond, Top Gear, Race to Oslo episode
Well....
Great video. How fast were you driving?
I think we got up to like 140
@@MrBlackReviews thanks.
Divided 2(+) lane road, vehicle barriers, animal fences and no speed limit equals a more dispersed population.
What’s the speed limit? Are you free to floor it
It’s not free to floor it... however there aren’t a lot of cops to pull you over. It might top out to 140 kph
where is danny black nice
Speed limit on the South Australian side of the Nullarbor is 110 kph. I believe the area is patrolled for excessive speeding.
The WA police used to do aerial patrols, timing you over a 1 km stretch of the road, then radio ahead to an awaiting patrol car.
Very enjoy your video
Thanks so much for watching :)
nice @@MrBlackReviews
This is where ufo chase cars :D
Yes, I can see. I can see.
lol 😂
This is dope man! Which drone you got? Also, where do you get your music? :)
This particular one was the phantom 4 with a broken gimbal (I crashed a couple weeks before that) as far as music I just looked on TH-cam for copyright free music
In 1968 I rode a push bike across the Nullarbor to propose to my girlfriend.
amazing!
And you never while driving such a huge distance veered off to the left hand side of the road?
Like falling asleep ??
@@MrBlackReviews Falling asleep would be extremely dangerous, but I meant driving like you do in America!
@@rbruce63 oh haha... I don’t recall, but wouldn’t be surprised if I did 😂😂
You do mean the right-hand side? Australians drive on the left.
It took me 17 days to run this in the opposite direction in summer.
Omg that would have been insane... how hot was it??
It was a lot different when most of it was dirt !! But now its a/c in a car .and that ok too!!
Haha ya that would have been really roughing it back then. Ironically we had a 70s Bedford with no a/c ... but something happened to it just before this leg of the tour so we had to get a rental... kinda happy to cause you don’t want to break down there
thinking fuel is expensive at 164 😂
I've done the drive many times and never get excited about it.
Can you tell me how long the drive is from one end of the Nullabor to the other, road wise, I am interested. Thanks.
Question - what if 4+ hours into the drive, you realize that you forgot something at the hotel? What then? Great video, guys.
Oh that would suck!!! Lol thanks so much for the compliment :)
That's not expensive for Petrol, that's what we pay here.
Anyone experience any weird stuff out on the nullabor?
Ooooo did you experience something weird?????
