He is just so confident and waaaaay ahead of his time. Very wise and handsome as well. Unique personality that lit up the whole generation and generations to come
I always thought Ralph Macchio looked like Sal Mineo. Man, he REALLY does in this interview. I'm surprised they didn't do a movie about Sal Mineo...Ralph would've been the perfect choice for the role
People are just attracted to the dark side of things. Obsessed with death and the circumstances surrounding it. Why do people watch Dateline? They don't know the victims or the families. Or Forensic Files. I just call them "murder shows", and I have no desire to watch them. It's kind of twisted. So, I agree.
Great interview. Mr. Hopkins, I would find it interesting if you filled out some bio info on yourself. I'm pretty sure there's an ABOUT section where you can add that info. I'd be interested in how you came to interview Mr. Mineo and general professional information about yourself. Thanks so much.
It’s eerie hearing Sal speak of prison reform when he would be murdered just shortly after this interview by a thug who had a long history of criminal offences.
And to watch this knowing that a true piece of sht was going to stab him multiple times… to see Sal’s face unaware of what lied ahead in his future… it really heart wrenching.
😢 and he had so much plans and was in place in his life where he felt comfortable for who he was.I feel sorry for the family, friends and his long term partner Courtney he deeply love and Jill Haworth.

If anyone really wants to think about it, Sal Mineo was only 5 6" and probably 130lbs. Not exactly a tough guy. He had no street smarts when he died. He was renting an apartment which means he did not have much money or much of a Hollywood career after the 60s. The 60s were being dominated by Sean Connery Steve McQueen and Rock Hudson. Parts for him dried because he couldn't compete with the tough guys. I remember he got to close to an ape and got choked to death.

Yes amen to that! Rip Sal you’re never forgotten.
What a deep soothing voice he had.
Sal was so incredibly handsome, What happened to him breaks my heart.
😢 it makes me cry but remembering him makes him still here even through we can’t see him, gone but never forgotten.
Sals’ murder is still running free after only serving 20 years from a 51 year sentence
What’s so horrible, is from the day of this video, he had just over a month and a half to live. Very sad.
he's got a hot speaking voice
He was so..... cool!
He looks incredibly fresh faced here, 10 years younger I would say. 🙂😀
Sal Mineo- a Legendary performer who never refused work.
Thank-you so much for the video, I would have loved to meet Sal, but I was a baby when he was murdered.
So sad his life ended in such an awful manner. R.I.P. Sal.
I just watched "Who Killed Teddy Bear". He was amazing in it.
Wow…and only 50-ish more days for Sal to live. So sad.
What a deep Voice! A viril mature
Voice in A Baby face &body
Comes from smoking.
@@richardneilan2392that's because he smoked so much. It changed his voice. It was totally different when he was in his 20s

Sal (film) 2011 directed by James Franco with Val Lauren (as Sal)
Why do people keep bringing up his death. Same with James Dean and Natalie Wood. How about we talk about and celebrate their lives.

Thanks so much for uploading this ❤
Excellent interview. Sal's drum playing as Gene Krupa was amazing.

Excellent to see Sal. Although they should have switched sides.
He should have been cast as Napoleon he would have been perfect.

Çok yakışıklı çok yetenekli yazık olmuş.
Marlon Brando + Ralph Macchio
And a bit of Paul Newman.
A little young Elvis mixed in.
Very handsome guy. Reminds me very much of Will Kirk from 'The Repair Shop' TV show.

This interview was made less two months before he was killed.
He died weeks later.

So, what's your point?
Sal stood well over 6ft and topped 200lbs. He played and acted kinda small. A professional performer.
@@peternagy-im4be Not really he was 6 5" and 230lbs.
@@peternagy-im4be Sal height was 5’6 but boy he had some muscle 💪
@@aliciacarter4598 how would you know?
Mostly dull interviewee.
@@gingerdude7040 any specifics on it please.
