Elephants and Gaurs at water tank

Forest department people , who also anticipated that the situation would turn worse during summer, kept filling the concrete tanks set up by them with water frequently to meet the needs of animals. The gesture is aimed mainly at helping elephants, Protected Areas. Due to this, percolation ponds, water holes, check dams were dried and fodders are not available in these areas. Because of this, the wild animals are likely to straying into the nearby patta lands, agricultural fields and in villages for search water. With summer setting in, the forest department has decided to set up water tanks and create artificial ponds to cater to water needs of animals. Water will be taken from bore wells to the temporary water tanks in vehicles. These water tanks are very useful for large mammals. In the morning and evening, creatures in these areas come in large numbers to drink water. This includes birds.
