Could you please explain competition in this philosophy in the context of Arjuna and Krishna perhaps? Isn't it so that we are in a grande competition as is all life and that it is our duty to engage in this competition as it was arjuna's duty to go to war? Is it not so that achieving the sort of consciousness would bring an end to this sacred competition which all life from macroscopic to microscopic engages in and which creates life itself?
It being the case that this competition of life is also what produces life, how are we to interpret these teachings?
You'll have no argument from me that the teachings of The Vedas are in fact the nature of reality..... But as to how to apply them is a complete mystery to me.
To my mind this information is only useful to an ascetic a monk or a sage.
I am a wrestler and MMA fighter if I see my competitor as one with myself I have lost before the fight has even begun.
      Perhaps I have misunderstood?
      Thank you sir.

Good summary of advaita vedanta and its teachings of self inquiry and knowledge but i have a question. If consciousness alone exists and the universe is an appearance in consciousness, then as an individual and collectively, we all notice that each object in the world has some intrinsic nature and properties like water is wet, rock is solid and hard, light illumines everything, we have gravity and other forces in nature etc. and also our own bodies and minds work in a certain way and follows certain rules which are repeatble and persistent pattern. How is that the one unchanging consciousness is appearing as all of these different things with various different properties and in certain repetable patterns if consciousness does not change or act in any way and also why there are patterns in the world and logic to things and why things are not appearing radomly? How do we explain these various persistent experiences that we are having everyday unless we postulate the objective existence of an independent external world out there with its own properties and patterns or prakruti(nature) as samkya philosophy calls it?

Namaste. The Universe as we perceive it right now is explained as Maya [The Creative potential within consciousness.] Vedanta simply says that beyond this world there is something that is the fundamental essence and the source of this world. Consciousness. And also this Consciousness remains untouched by the world just as a movie screen remains untouched by the movie that is being played on it.

@adhvaitha Namaste and thanks for the response. The issue I see with this explanation of vedanta is lack of suffiecnt logical explanation of why the unlimited infitnite source consciousness is appearing as this world including our own body and minds and more specifically why things we see follows certain rules and patterns and why certain things are appearing in certain way and not in any other random way, like water is wet example and who is deciding these rules and patterns? The infinite concisousness which we say as not having any qualities?

@@karthikananthaswamy6862 The 'Why' question is difficult to find the answer to. [in any philosophy or religion.] The problem with this question is that we are trying fit the infinite consciousness within a finite mind. But the best answer I've come to understand is that "Consciousness is the Absolute Infinite. As the Absolute Infinite, it exists in Infinite ways(in every way possible.), It exists in the state of non-creation(Avyaktha) where there is nothing but consciousness alone. It also exists in the Manifested state(Vyaktha) where that pure consciousness alone appears in infinite forms.(As galaxies, animals, birds, etc.,)."
Also, Consciousness is beyond form and quality. [quality-less may sound like a limitation. But it is not.] Thank you.

What difference does this awareness make in the material world where we are separate from others and have to compete against them? Isn't this awareness dangerous in that it will make us less able to compete in The game of Life?
Imagine a rabbit that understands that it is one with the snake, would this rabbit not care if it was eaten? And are we not in danger of the same when we adopt this point of view?

1.Hi, Adhvaitha is considered the highest doctrine. This is not for everyone. If the only focus of a person is material success without spiritual underpinning, then this is not for him/her. That's why I talk about 'Conscious Creation', which is to create our lives consciously in alignment with this truth. I definitely don't think that this will make us less able to compete. The knowledge speaks about our infinite potential. If we truly understand conscious living, we go beyond the competition that happens at lower levels to create something truly profound.
      2. Adhvaitha doesn't say Rabbit = Snake. It says the underlying reality i.e, the Consciousness with which the rabbit is alive is the same as that of the snake.
P.S; This is not for a Rabbit :)

@@waltershumer4211 I don't think so. To live we do not need to compete. But to fulfil our superficial goals like winning a trophy, topping an exam maybe. Again, the spiritual path is for human beings only since we can now go beyond survival easily.

Game of life is different from spirituality, when rabit knows that it is in danger then it will obviously run, in this situation rabit cannot apply spirituality... Rabit has to run and it will definitely run(consciousness is different from 3d world) but we should know about spirituality just to know ourselves that's it

Spiritual knowledge is experiential not intellectual. What you’re saying is too high level, it’s like teaching quantum physics to 3rd graders, we can’t grasp it. I agree some are genius individuals, who will get it even if they are 3rd graders, but not everyone. So what to do? Start where we are, Right now we are in the level of the mind and psychology-so let’s talk about that, not these graduate level knowledge 😅. Hope you got what I meant to say, and sorry for the criticism.
