Really glad you talk about the idea of putting more one of's in Amethyst decks because of the draw power. Decks that have such huge draw power like this offers so much greater utility and tech options, especially when we start to see the meta progress and what kind of tech options are going to be included in the deck.
This is especially true since you can cycle used one-ofs back in with Brooms. I'm wondering if we'll see any sort of fetch mechanics in the future to make one-ofs more reliable.
@@raymondlinton4703 Without more recursion like the brooms or other ETB triggers like Hades 4cost Amber, the only other consistent way that I believe "One of" card inclusions more reliable would be to print cards like MTG tutors....heck they could even bring Jiminy Cricket out and have the card be called "Wish Upon A Star" or something and I would be thrilled. :)
Just came short of top 8 at this event, drawing round 6 playing Amethyst/Steel. Ruby/Amethyst is most definitely the deck to beat, and was the only deck I got a loss to during the event. Still trying to find the secret sauce to even up the matchup. . . Looking forward to playing the next event!
I was one of the top 8 purple red decks (7th). There was still a variety in the 6 control decks. Definitely was a large chunk of people that did not have completely fine tuned decks and some were homebrew fun jank that showed up. My only loss in Swiss was to a mirror match where I lost the die roll and my loss in top 8 was also a mirror match where I went second and my deck decided to give me 4 draws in a row of non-inkables and could not come back to force a game 3. All in all it was a pretty decent event and I hope to go back to the next one they do.
Looking forward to seeing how the meta shapes up after the dominance of Ruby Amethyst - perhaps we will see more decks building hard counters to the strategy! 🤓
Note - The Pixel Born Stats Are Games Played With That Color Combo Involved - Not Games Won. The left side shows win % meaning that example - 2293 games had Ruby/Amethyst in them Ruby/Amethyst had a 48.71% win ratio. This means Ruby/Amethyst won 1117 games.
I home brewed an idea of a Amethyst Steel late game rush deck using the pocket watch and big steel guys like teka simba and marshmallow to control the board.
Im very new to tcgs and played in my first league games this weekend. I ran a ruby amerthyst deck which did really well. I came 2nd. The evasion of pongo and pascal caused choas against some players
Kinda saw Purple/Red dominating the meta. Suggested this exactly 1 month ago in Pixelborn discord. Only deck that I found to beat this consistently is a silly yellow/blue Hades recursion….very annoying. Sadly yellow/blue struggles against aggro
Love the info, thanks for the content! My local meta seems to really be in favor of Amber/Amethyst, and synergizing with Stitch Rockstar card draw. Trying to aggro before the turn 7 be prepared. Currently my favorite ink is probably Ruby of Amethyst. I’m just loving Aladdin’s lore steal combo with Shield of Virtue. Amethyst is also really fun. Three drop Maleficent that can sing Friends feels good. Difference is that Maleficent is common, and Rapunzel is not.
I started toying with an Amber+Steel deck this past weekend and it was a blast to play, and not remotely optimized yet. A lot of great tools, and I also love the ability to acquire lore from challenging and then healing up with Amber. Not to mention having some of the biggest draw bombs in the game with Rapunzel and Rockstar Stitch.
It’s not a “budget deck” it’s just a budget version of that deck. At the time of recording Elsa was $50 and other versions were playing 3/4 of her. So it was 150-200 below those. However now with the understanding of how singles are back on the rise, very few decks will be “budget” or to be honest, the budget decks in this game will still be 150-200 most likely (at least for the foreseeable future)

Hey man just so you know - The person piloting the no Elsa 4 Ursula list is a woman named Lunalove who was a perennial Hearthstone Grandmasters player and I believe a world champion at one point - Just wanted to comment so you don’t incorrectly pronoun in the future!
@@TheForbiddenMountain I came here to say this as well, but will also add that she explained all of her more unusual picks on twitter, like how the Jetsams are a tech against the Evasive decks so she can attack Evasive characters without having to waste removal on them.
You will never convince me that Archimedes is the better choice over Maleficent but I keep seeing that. Cut something else uninkable if that's truly your concern.
@@TheForbiddenMountain Olaf or Minnie are also both better with their 3 willpower. These cheap creatures you want to be questing early and turning to ink later. They should not be challenging unless the game is really getting away from you IMO.
I mean it’s still so very budget how is that not true? I never said the card wasn’t good, or that is shouldn’t be in decks. I’m simply saying not playing Elsa is the budge version of the deck.
It's really frustrating listening to you call Luna he over and over again. Either do research on the player and use their pronouns or refer to everyone as they/them. This isn't a game only for men.
I mean I’m very sorry, I obviously do not know this player; I’m not here to discredit any players accomplishments. Absolutely no disrespect intended. Trust me you can check my channel my. Stumbled on your channel now via this video. Great content on Lorcana. Love it. Thanks for this. Just subbed

I just purchased the singles i needed to finish my first constucted deck. I went with steel/emerald, trying to build a burn/aggro deck.

That is awesome to hear. Glad you had a good time. Look forward to hearing more about other events in the future.
Do you have the list for the ruby emerald deck?
I only ever saw the top for decklist. I can only hope the other four will be out public soon.

100% going to happen (heard it hear first 😜)
Where was the one k at in Crossville Tn?
Nat 20 games??? I think haha. I’ll try and confirm that later when I’m done work
Glad to have the meta Monday videos back! I’ve always been team Amethyst and Amber, so I’m really happy to see them at the top
Going to try and get them weekly. (When the big events are to happening I’ll be reporting for sure)
I made Amethyst and Amber that revolve around of hades king of Olympus
I love Amber Steel! My deck is a bit more focused on the Musketeer cards. Such a fun deck!!
Mine started as an Ursula necklace deck that just kept evolving

What was the exact format of the 1K? Were there sideboards? I assume it was best of 3?
No sideboards BO3

Yea no way to clear the board leaves it vulnerable in big ways
I would be curious about those Amber/sapphire pixelborn lists. I am thinking of Tinkering with Amber/Sapphire using belle.
I’ll do some research :-)

No one ignored it, people just didn’t play it at the 1k. I fully expect to see it at PPG this weekend

“$1000 prize pool”
