Just an FYI - You can set the robot to 'Follow the perimeter' in the settings. This will make sure it does not cut across your zigzag pattern when it is moving on to the next zone or back to the charging station. Great update!
My brother and I are retired and used to take turns mowing our 3 acres. It's not entirely grass though. We have two small no-mow wilderness areas, two homes, several sheds and a couple of paved carports. Basically about 1.5 acres of grass, but spread out. I've recently had health issues that keeps me from helping my brother mow and I've been looking into something like your robot to take over mowing for us. Cost isn't an issue, but we don't want to hire a lawn care business. We like our privacy!
It’s important for everyone watching this to know that the Luba 2 isn’t rated for warm season grass climate in the summer time. The batteries won’t charge because they overheat. It’s an extremely common issue. Mammotion says they are working on a fix, but I would highly advise against anyone in the Southern US ordering one of these units until this glaring problem is resolved.
Appreciate the honest review on this. Some of the other "reviews" I've seen are 100% glowing reviews. Thanks for touching on the downsides. Overall this looks like a great mower though.
I just picked up a random mower with a camera and I love it. You won't get the stripes, but the grass gets hit at different angles, so very little stragglers.
Hey Ryan I would love to hear an honest review on your battery Milwaukee mower after having it at multiple locations and various conditions. Thanks again for all the content.
It's my first season with Luba 2 and I also feel that I have to go out with the rotor mower once in a while. Otherwise it's getting messy. My Luba mowing at 40mm.
Your reviews are highly informative and you have provided an honest assessment of the machine's advantages and disadvantages for me. Recently, I have been contemplating purchasing a robotic lawn mower and conducted research on the top-selling products available on Amazon. During my investigation, I discovered that luba2 and other popular models employ distinct technologies. If possible, could you review the anthbot and sunseeker this two brands' products?
Good review Ryan. I was seriously looking into a LUBA 2 AWD 1000, it was a demo model that was used at home and garden trade fair shows, it was a pretty good deal and hard to pass up, but instead I spent the money on a PRS Silver Sky guitar in Frost White. Maybe next year for the mower. ;-)
Yes, I am considering one of those mowers. I was wondering about reliability and battery degradation but that's probably mower interesting after like 2-3 years. I also need to get me one of those properties like yours. Great surroundings and space WOW!
I have multiple robotic machines and devices like window cleaners, vax, etc. However Luba is dependent on a satellite system with variations in the LEO orbits, elliptical paths and a congested LEO sphere with satellites almost colliding with each other daily. In a static MEO environment Luba may perform well but hey the radio signal wud be unreachable by the luba economical radiation receivers. Sure this unit works well but is incapable of being operational in a varying transmission environment and therefore all the revs almost weekly. Why do U think global leaders in this domain ie., Husquavarna, Stihl, Wokx, etc.wud not compete with Mammotion (an unheard of firm in this field), IMHO becuz they know the pitfalls of jumping on the RTK guidance system till it is robust. Ur may be lounging now but believe me luba wil be in limbo shortly as Luba has no tech support whatsoever and no warranty provisions as many have verified on reviews on Amazon. IMO Luba is a short term wonder with marketing hype at CES but little else to substantiate the glorified reviews by those lobbying for Mammotion becuz they got free prototypes to dupe the rest of us. Sorry there is no depth or dimension to Mammotion and the next Edsel or chevy volt.
@@n8yt you can unscrew the cutting plates then put a suitable spacer between the plate and the machine. This will allow the robot to cut lower. It will think it’s cutting at a certain height but will be actually cutting lower.
As of today, 7/22/2024, the Mammotion app will not open on Android. That means nothing can be mowed. We reinstalled the app and it still will not open. Any ideas?
Before buying this companies product be sure and read there return and warranty for there product. they also use snail mail shipping letting the electronics get bounced around and mishandled by every 18 year old in the U.S. mine has been to 15 different locations in transit, and it is past where i live on the map. still waiting after 6 days. they seem to package there units well, but hard foam does not stop shock from transferring into the container/mower and everything else in the box. Printed circuit boards and there components do not like being jarred around. if my box is damaged i may just try the Yarbo mower with all its attachments.
There is a robot reel mower now. It's currently on Kickstarter so the only videos and product reports are marketing pieces provided by the company. The blades are self sharpening.
Hey Ryan, I'm sure you get asked this all the time but I haven't seen anything in the comments about it. How is the old lawn doing? Please give us an update.
I have 7000sq ft of fairly thick grass and a Luba 3000. If the grass is being well maintained, it will cut the whole lawn or a bit less with one charge. That is at the preset speed and spacing. If you wanted to turn the speed up a bit it may go further.
@@OhioCoastie94 full disclosure, I sell them, but i work on all of them. I have found that Husqvarna has the best approach to customer service and general reliability.
My luba lost reception, again, in a very bad place right next to the garage. My wife didn't see it, and clipped it with her truck. Broke the front and rear suspension, and I was getting fault code for the front motor. Initially tech support seemed like they were going to help. I gave them all the information. They sent another email asking for the device name, which I sent. I never heard from again. I sent numerous emails. I told them, I am capable of doing the repairs myself, and that I will pay for the parts. Nothing. My only option is to buy the only set of used motors is can find for $250, and epithet JB weld tge suspension or pay about $600 for a used set. No guarantee that will fix my $2,700 paperweight. If you're the gambling type, buy a Luba. Do not expect any support if you have a problem.

It works well when U take it out of the box after hours of mapping. Then a month later: the issue is Mammotion has no AI or U processor to deal with the variations in the SAT/LEO orbit congestion and firmware (because of SOC incorporation) updates are almost weekly as this product is not capable of positioning to the ever changing stratospheric environment and this reviewer is only reviewing the mechanics and simple electronics of the machine. Luba has no tech or customer support and I think even Amazon has dumped them as they are a over-hyped firm with now mower heritage. Avoid Mammotion like a skunk on your lawn as it is problematic and U spend more time troubleshooting this inferior positioning deice then mowing. Their RTK system is no up to the job and creeper U need 28 Sats to communicate with the RTK and Robot. A scam product, do not spend your hard-earned money on a product with no integrity or customer service which this reviewer dismisses as he knows they are not bona-fida. Forget the warranty as it is not supported once they have your money.

Wow very interesting! I’m in central Virginia. What about running it at night only?

Seems like a nice time saver for certain scenarios
I just picked up a random mower with a camera and I love it. You won't get the stripes, but the grass gets hit at different angles, so very little stragglers.
Realistic review. And highlighted what the product is best used for. Also! Reminded me of how I get sloppy with my mows sometimes.
Great job on the review! 👏
Looking good here in New York the heat is killing the lawn
Agree with that!
Thanks for the review! Still looking for something a bit more affordable.
This seems like a decent way to do a first cut on new tender grass when you don't want to run a heavy mower over it or walk all over it yet.
Hey Ryan I would love to hear an honest review on your battery Milwaukee mower after having it at multiple locations and various conditions. Thanks again for all the content.
There is an option under settings to make Luba follow the perimeter when going between station and cutting point. "Direct" or "Follow the perimeter".
I don't have a busy schedule, I just don't want to mow.
I am seeing a lot of positive feedback about this mower; I hope most of it is genuine.
If you want to deal with lying cheating bastards go ahead and buy something from Mammotion.
Nicely done! I'd love to see a deep look at your shade areas!

you should check out the Oasa R1 reel automated mower, it's in kickstarter phase but it's well surpassed it's money goal.
You should be able to tell it to travel the perimeter when charging and going plot to plot Ryan.
Thanks for the review!
some people have put a spacer in to allow the minimum height to come down even lower. might be worth an experiment for your green area.
Can you explain? Where do the spacers go?

First Aussie 😁. Ryan , Great , no lawn Therapy. The Ai mower frees up more time to sit on the couch and watch reruns of the Jerry Springer Show 😳😬
Did you see the robot reel mower?
Hello, was genau beschreibst du hier in dem Video, was ist das für ein Update?

very interesting
Re the recharge thing ... I find ours does close to 2 hours before a recharge
I got 3 robot mowers. Picking up after the sheep is getting old. No clippings left, just poop

1" golf green....................
Tee boxes maybe but to call anything cut at 1" a golf green is a pretty big stretch
Watch the golf video for more info. It's a temporary thing

I would recommend a husqvarna automower over a luba personally
Why?
