    So used to seeing people trashing Excel while being completely ignorant of its actual capabilities. Refreshing video!

      People trash it while probably trying to make products/solutions which simply just aren't as good as excel and other microsoft 365 apps. No custom solution will substitute these ones if you are able to make macros and automate as you go.

      @tmb8807 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@chairjacker I mean I'm sure you _could_ build custom solutions that do the same thing. But what I was getting at was that for the longest time (and probably still now) I couldn't read or watch anything to do with, for example, Python data manipulation libraries, where the creator didn't make some claim that what they were doing wasn't possible with Excel, that Excel was for noobs, etc. It was like they didn't even know Power Query/Power Pivot existed.

    I swear the algorithm hears me. I finally have gotten to a place where I feel incredibly confident in PQ as it applies to what I do. I talked about learning Power Pivot to the same level with a friend last night.

    Greetings from Brazil, Mo Chen! I appreciate your videos very much, nowadays I work as a report developer in a Industry IT team. I am used to work with PBI, didnt know how powerful excel could be too! I want to find new jobs around here related to data analysis and reports development, and your content have been extremely useful.
    Let me ask you something. Could you bring in your next videos, examples of how a possible data analysis report finished project would look like? Using these tools you had shown? What does the client usually wants to see? And how is the appearence of the final version that you deliver?
    Thanks!

    Whoever facing Date format problem (Order date ) : to convert Text to Date format use can use Power Query selecting the 'Order Date' column > select left side of Date column "aBc" > Right click > Using Locale > select data type - Date + select Locale - English(US) > OK

    Great video! Do you know if SSAS uses the same DAX just as Power Pivot or Power BI? or something might change between these tools? Thank you!

    2:45 the first query is loaded in PQ.
    My question is, what’s the tool running between the headers and the first row? I’m assuming it’s running some analysis?

    Hey Mo Chen… thank you so much for this lesson. I have a question though. Instead of doing this in power pivot, is there a way we can create a calculated field (by adding new measure) using pivot tables?

    In the design tab, the date table is not giving me the option to choose new. It is only letting me choose default. what could be wrong? Or what am I doing wrong?

      You need to convert the data type for the 'Order Date' column in PowerQuery to Date type.
