HO Scale Layout Tour - Midwest BNSF Subdivision 2023

- One of the main staples of my channel and the primarily set for my videos is my HO scale layout. It’s been several years since I did a tour of this layout and the channel has grown quite a bit since the last layout overview so today I’m going to do a tour of the layout.

The layout was not how I imagined it to be, I can see that operating on this layout would be really fun! Any hints as to what the future layout might entail?
Yea it's not too bad for 2-3 operators for a little while. The tentative plan is more for a point to point layout, something a little more module friendly and hopefully bigger/better!

I’m obsessed with this layout. I know there’s a lot of grand ones out there with big bridges and cities and a lot going on, but the simplicity of this is pleasing. I keep getting drawn back to this video to study it to plan a lot of it the same for myself. I have a 16x10 space and before I saw yours my plan was very similar to just have lots of yard action but sparse scenery. Looks like a lot of fun!
Yea it's very solid, there's a little bit of everything in there. That 16x10 space will be a great spot for you though.
Still coming back to this video after seeing 100s of layouts. haven’t built anything beyond an 8ft single turnout switching section. Let me know when you want to sell the layout.

It's a nice layout!! The big thing to address that I can see of is making the radius of the curves at least 22 to 24 inches
So glad you posted this tour, it gives me hope! I recently purchased an "outbuilding", for my layout home. I was worried that at 15x14 it wouldn't be big enough to do anything in! The folded figure 8, is a great idea, I also thought I might even build a small grade, to go up to another level!

Awesome layout!! How deep is it? Looking to build something similar to this layout I got a small room 10x10
It's not that deep, most spots are 22-24" deep, the deepest is by the engine shed and measures out to about ~28" You could definitely get away with 18-24" though.
I enjoyed the layout except for two things. 1, I don't like weathering or graffiti. 2, I don't like background buildings. It makes it look cheap.
