Bro, this is an amazing layout and it’s mild compared to some of the stuff out there. I’m talking layouts worth hundreds of thousands of dollars or more!!
I’ve been model railroading for over 35 years and never have I seen such a well put together model railroad, I can’t find the words to tell you how I feel about what I’m seeing. FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!
wow! my dad is using his HO trains again. after 30years of being unused, and he feels like a little boy while watching them go... I just showed him this video for less than 5 minutes, because it's pretty late lol and we really thought this was a museum! Congrats on this amazing video and layout!! I have no words!!! my dad was pretty impressed too! he just couldn't believe it! greetings from Mexico!
I’d say Model railroading is alive and well. So good to see another generation of Americans carrying on the hobby. Very articulate and well spoken narrator .
The level of detail on this layout is amazing! Working on the real railroad for 20+ years, missing details on model railroads really standout to me. Extra details standout too; all the signs, signals, culverts, debris around industries, really makes a difference.
The amount of time, effort, and dollars involved defies my grasp. I have no idea how one person, even with some help can pull something like this off. Surely is impressive!
Lots of nice details. Super-elevation on the highway bridge @4:35, a pair of wind turbine blades @4:47 (do those track well on a 36" R curve?) and even a few cabeese. :D The red one @ 4:25 is probably MOW (?), but many of the others still bear green and yellow paint. Nice to see those. And then what I think might be a quarter mile of welded rail cars @5:46-6:14? And then the scale car and Hi-Rail (that's an old Model Railroader project, IIRC) @7:33. I could go on and on.... Just brilliant. All of it." Face it, Sam.... We're lost. :D Send in a St. Bernard....
Gentlemen! This is art! The monumental effort, vigilant attention to detail, painstaking patience, and vision of it's future completion is inspirational.
This layout illustrates it is the care and detail that are needed in modern modelling. What turned my eye was the river details at 8:56, the river looks wet and the bridge is real. Congratulations to the modelers of the whole scenic view and the trains just knit it all together.
Thanks for this Josh. During my trip to the US in 2015 , I was very lucky to be invited to Mr Parker's house to see this wonderful layout. John is a true gentleman and Fall River is an amazing railroad and it was a highlight of my trip to the States. Cheers Gregg.
Most videos I watch, I can appreciate the time, effort, put into their "4x8"layout. (or L shape or what have you) But this... this was MIND BOGGLING! And people think the pyramids are a wonder... I'd love to know how many man hours went into this layout, it's absolutely stunning! I have to add- the commentator was... amazing? incredible? knowledgeable? outstanding? well spoken...well spoken does not give him justice, but his descriptions of what we were looking at, brought the scene to life. So kudos to the commentator, as well as the builders. Are there any videos/pictures of the layout being built? I would LOVE to see the construction side of such a massive undertaking!
G'day from Australia....I'm attempting to model the same BNSF era but I am not worthy to see this ...OMG this is impressive.. I love too how you have explained John's work and I thank you for displaying this magnificent layout for us mere mortals to enjoy ..THANK YOU..
It's an inspirational layout but I groan when I think about the number of hours and dollars that have been spent getting it to this stage, but as we all know that a layout never really gets completed, there's always something that we want to change.lol. Credit to it's owner. Looking forward to seeing the trains running on this layout.
I really enjoy viewing these model railroad videos. I'm amazed, as are most folks, with the details and effort put in to making them look so realistic. Sure makes my under the tree train I have look "dinky"! Someone mentioned the expense of model railroading. I guess this money could be spent on other things but, we all need a vice, right? Mine is 54mm toy soldiers. A similar hobby that can run into some money. Very nice setup on this video.
Impressive amount of tracks and operation, never seen a mushroom layout in reality (only on articles). I cannot even imagine the amount of work, time and money spent into this monster.
Just amazing, I am humbled by the amount of $'s that went into this behemoth of a layout. So detailed you just keep looking for what you missed the first pass. Great work!
Truly a well designed and build model railroad. Very realistic for this 'big' one. Seldom seen this kind of detail and well done vistas. Thanks for sharing and commenting. Greetings from France. Filip
Nit sure why this popped up in my feed since I’m not into model trains, but this might just be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. The detail is absolutely incredible!
Really, a marvel for its dimensions and its operational options. It has a good and clean design. But surely the program to operate that layout will require a lot of people; unless it's computerized. Congratulations!!!!. I really enjoyed it. Thank you and greetings.
As amazing as this layout is yours gives me so much inspiration. Unfortunately, I don't have an entire room to dedicate to a layout but I do have a shelf.
Would love to be working an operating session on this layout. Very nice clean layout. Tons of scenes too. Scenery is fantastic. Bravo to the owner of this layout. Background scenery fantastic. Thanks for sharing .
Clearly this was designed and built by a higher power. I now have to go out and try to find words to describe this and then try to put them into a sentence the begins to scratch the surface of just how amazing this model empire is. In my minds eye, I cant even begin to imagine the footprint of this layout, let alone the track plan. Thanks for sharing, Rob
By far one of the best planned layout model railroad I have ever seen. Everything so clean. The attention to detail is awesome down to the smallest of detail. Outstanding layout!!!
I have seen a number of videos/articles etc. on this layout and kick myself as I used to live in the general area and never got to see it. This video though was amazing and shared parts I had not seen in others and made it even more impressive. Definitely one of my top 3 favorite layouts to watch. Thanks for this video!
Unbelievable! I'll bet there are short lines that have a shorter length of trackage than the ACTUAL length of rail in this incredible layout. Thanks for showing it, and the link to (I assume) an operating session video.
You and your dad, as well as friends, have done a fantastic job on your layout. You have given me many ideas for my layout. Thank you for the fine video.
I ran trains on the V&O of Allen McClellan. his layout was set in western Va. Close. I Began in the late 70s and ran there into the late 90s. His layout was even more detailed than this. Allen focused on lighting as a very important part. Considering this was over 40 years now. I miss those days. so much fun. BTW, Allen was made a MMR. Master Model Railroader.
Another spectacular video of a spectacular layout! Countless "cool touches" (like the Boeing fuselages in the Lincoln BNSF yard.) And thanks again for the very well prepared narration spoken in a well modulated voice with perfect diction.
This is an amazing layout, definitely one of the best ones i have seen especially in regards to detail and realism. The thing i cant seem to figure out tho is the amount of money, time and effort people put into these layouts and make them look so real and lifelike but then you see a turnout with an over sized Caboose Industries ground throw and wonder why, just why? Why not spend $25 or so per turnout and use a switch machine and an operational/rotating switch stand that looks real and is to scale size, or even a non operational/rotating switch stand that is correct in scale instead of the massively over sized Caboose Industries ground throws. I don't know, that's just my opinion, but all of that aside hands down to the creator of this great layout, it is spectacular.
I have a preference towards the old BN & SF paint schemes prior to the merger. I’m not a fan of the Green and Orange. However, in the late 1990s I purchased a BNSF Train Set for my young son for the traditional “Under the Christmas Tree” Railroad It was in the Merger Paint Scheme Colors. Thanks for a great layout tour. Beautiful Beautiful 😊
I had no idea model railroading could be this extreme. Holy crap this is impressive.
Michael Taylor search for „Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg“ on TH-cam. Thank me later :)
someone is saying "my dad spent my inheritance"! lol This is freaking awesome, glad we got to see this. Thanks to the owner for the share.
The begging city background looks like Kansas City, went there a bit ago and the background looks so similar (prob not in KCK)
Bro, this is an amazing layout and it’s mild compared to some of the stuff out there. I’m talking layouts worth hundreds of thousands of dollars or more!!
Very Impressive
I’ve been model railroading for over 35 years and never have I seen such a well put together model railroad, I can’t find the words to tell you how I feel about what I’m seeing. FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!
@Comoda why does his age matter
I am a trestle nut, and that shot coming out of the tunnel is so awesome, I'm speechless.
wow! my dad is using his HO trains again. after 30years of being unused, and he feels like a little boy while watching them go... I just showed him this video for less than 5 minutes, because it's pretty late lol and we really thought this was a museum!
Congrats on this amazing video and layout!! I have no words!!! my dad was pretty impressed too! he just couldn't believe it!
greetings from Mexico!
maripunk175indiegirl greetings from New Hampshire, USA.
Oh what the hell. 2 yrs late but hello from Alabama, Rocket City.
I’d say Model railroading is alive and well. So good to see another generation of Americans carrying on the hobby. Very articulate and well spoken narrator .
The forest sections and that rather broad river crossing--absolutely STUNNING
The level of detail on this layout is amazing! Working on the real railroad for 20+ years, missing details on model railroads really standout to me. Extra details standout too; all the signs, signals, culverts, debris around industries, really makes a difference.
WOW. Just... wow. That big trestle into the mountain is amazing.
In America everything is Big, just like this layout. Very big with lots of details and great finish. Stefan from Europe.
The amount of time, effort, and dollars involved defies my grasp. I have no idea how one person, even with some help can pull something like this off. Surely is impressive!
That ribbon-rail train is the coolest model ever... totally original.
For all those who enjoy this hobby, we should all be this fortunate to build a layout like this if this is what you desire to do.

Face it, Sam.... We're lost. :D Send in a St. Bernard....
That was spectacular. I felt as if I was viewing a museum, not a layout. Very, very impressive!
That railyard brings a whole new meaning to "I got the power!" Energizer would be proud.
Fall River at 8:30 freat scene and what perfect trees. That may be the best scene ever seen. Overall scenery is A Plus.
I love the detail of hiding a random figure in the coal cars. Thats a really nice touch!
This is the best model train layout I’ve ever seen and it’s huge
Thanks for this Josh. During my trip to the US in 2015 , I was very lucky to be invited to Mr Parker's house to see this wonderful layout. John is a true gentleman and Fall River is an amazing railroad and it was a highlight of my trip to the States.
Cheers Gregg.
Made my day, really enjoyed it. During the first bit with the bridge, my wife thought it was real. So Awesome.
Most videos I watch, I can appreciate the time, effort, put into their "4x8"layout. (or L shape or what have you)
But this... this was MIND BOGGLING! And people think the pyramids are a wonder... I'd love to know how many man hours went into this layout, it's absolutely stunning!

28:12 love the Boeing 737 fuselage on the flat car...I want one
I wonder if it's the same scale.
The attention to detail is amazing. The rust on the bridge joints, it just amazing, all the little details
It's an inspirational layout but I groan when I think about the number of hours and dollars that have been spent getting it to this stage, but as we all know that a layout never really gets completed, there's always something that we want to change.lol. Credit to it's owner. Looking forward to seeing the trains running on this layout.
The background pictures are incredible. They add so much depth.
wow, cant put into words how fantastic your layout is. thank you for sharing kind regards Al😊😊👍
This layout completely blew my socks off! I had paused the video several times in awe of the details! Just a Superb Job Done Here!
I really enjoy viewing these model railroad videos. I'm amazed, as are most folks, with the details and effort put in to making them look so realistic. I am amazed at how well the terrain blends in with the photographic/wall background. It's flawless.
Just the staging yards are the size of my dream layout! Incredible.
Impressive amount of tracks and operation, never seen a mushroom layout in reality (only on articles).
I cannot even imagine the amount of work, time and money spent into this monster.
(I would love a cab view from a camera myself)
This is one of the most incredible layouts I have ever seen! I'm really liking the content on this channel!
Just amazing, I am humbled by the amount of $'s that went into this behemoth of a layout. So detailed you just keep looking for what you missed the first pass. Great work!

This escapes words!! WICKED GOOD!! and beyond! What a wonderful job!! Thanks so much for sharing.
Wow, covers every type of terrain on the BNSF Railroad. And it's nicely done!
Really, a marvel for its dimensions and its operational options. It has a good and clean design. But surely the program to operate that layout will require a lot of people; unless it's computerized. Congratulations!!!!. I really enjoyed it. Thank you and greetings.
This is So jaw dropping. The level of detail and artwork. It just goes on and on... Wow.
Johns Layout is such a huge inspiration. I could spend days admiring the detail and amazing work he has done. It honestly leaves me speechless.
As amazing as this layout is yours gives me so much inspiration. Unfortunately, I don't have an entire room to dedicate to a layout but I do have a shelf.
I am astounded at the amount of detail on this layout! My eyes literally pop out of my head at everything.
You are in heaven of model railroading! Definitely
I cannot count how many times I have watched this and Arthurs walkthroughs of this amazing layout. What a sight!
OMG!!! Incredible and more than just a layout. The cost has got to be in the Millions. Thx for sharing.
When i see a model from a Model Train Store i'm like 'wow'
BUT THIS just took it to another level
This is an amazing layout. Extreme amounts of love and detail were put into this layout. Thank you for sharing this with the world.
13:54
It just blends in so well that looks so good
Wow, I never realized that was a background picture until you said that!!
Would love to be working an operating session on this layout. Very nice clean layout. Tons of scenes too. Scenery is fantastic. Bravo to the owner of this layout. Background scenery fantastic. Thanks for sharing .
Great tour and for sure one of the most model railroad layouts ever done! Absolutely amazing.
Absolutely stunning. I watched this with my jaw dropped. Good narration and explanation. WOW!
This is absolutely incredible! WOW. I can't imaging the time (or money!) it takes to make something like this. Incredible.
Clearly this was designed and built by a higher power. Around 3,000 feet is what I have heard. No idea how big that is but judging by the video it's bloody massive.
By far one of the best planned layout model railroad I have ever seen. Everything so clean. The attention to detail is awesome down to the smallest of detail. Outstanding layout!!!
The detail is nothing short of amazing. Awesome layout
Felt like you walked around this thing for 5 minutes in the beginning! Nice.
Amazing. Thanks for the tour Josh.
I have seen a number of videos/articles etc. on this layout and kick myself as I used to live in the general area and never got to see it. This video though was amazing and shared parts I had not seen in others and made it even more impressive. Definitely one of my top 3 favorite layouts to watch. Thanks for this video!
Stunning system....love the bridge scene
John Parker's layout is awesome ... and it's a mushroom! Very efficient use of space.
Unbelievable!
I'll bet there are short lines that have a shorter length of trackage than the ACTUAL length of rail in this incredible layout.
Thanks for showing it, and the link to (I assume) an operating session video.
My Dad and I built a double-decker HO layout when I was a kid, but it had NOTHING on this one. This is really, really impressive.
You and your dad, as well as friends, have done a fantastic job on your layout. You have given me many ideas for my layout. Thank you for the fine video.
Incredible!......An amazing experience it would be to run trains here. The rockwork in the mountains, the bridges, the industry.......wow,just Wow!
It's cool to see Richland modeled! I live in the neighboring city of Pasco, and it is certainly modeled accurately.
Wow this is a fantastic layout. Clean and sharp. Damn.
ALMOST HEAVEN...WEST VIRGINIA. -ik this probably has nothing to do with WV but those mountains at the beginning reminds me so much of it lol
I ran trains on the V&O of Allen McClellan. his layout was set in western Va. Close.
I Began in the late 70s and ran there into the late 90s.

very impressive, the city background incorporates part of the skyline of Saskatoon, as well as a commercial backdrop. Rail train is awesome.
One of the nicest layouts I have ever seen. Well done.
Really enjoy the concrete ties in spots of the layout.
(Just another little detail)
Another spectacular video of a spectacular layout! Countless "cool touches" (like the Boeing fuselages in the Lincoln BNSF yard.) And thanks again for the very well prepared narration spoken in a well modulated voice with perfect diction.
All of the working lights and signals are the most amazing part to me!
This is an absolutely stunning layout. Looks like a fun layout to run on
Thanks for the excellent narration and very smooth camera panning with a sharp focus in capturing this masterpiece.
This is truly epic in scale and realism. I am awestruck. Brilliant modeling.

Fantastic layout tour video Josh.

This was truly an amazing graphic & technical marvel project, masterfully executed!!!
After seeing this, I really wanna get back into model railroading... I'm gonna start designing a layout while watching.
Glad to hear it! If I can help in any way, I'd be happy to. - Josh
