- World's first FLYING CAR that can turn into a plane in less than a minute and soar along at 100mph is going on sale in the US next month
According to manufacturer Terrafugia, which belongs to the parent company of Volvo, the Transition can fly up to 400 miles (640km) at top speeds of 100mph (160kmh).
The price has not yet been determined but preliminary sales for the first of the pioneering models will begin in October, according to China's news agency Xinhua.

Based on the flying mechanics, flying will not be plausible. That car looks to be around 2 tons, yet those teeny as wings would probably only hold 300 KG at the max.

To add to what @@randomguynolonger727yearsa9 is saying. It looks like a fun concept idea but it has a lot of features that make it impractical. Having only two propellers would make take off incredibly unconformable, with that size of propeller it would be nearly impossible to even get it off the ground safely, and the shape isn't doing it any favors either.

All good points. The fully autonomous self-driving car is going to take off for cities and short trips. Being easy to fly/drive for a great majority of persons, being able to land and take off from any town, airstrip on a farm or (in an emergency) any road, anywhere, being able to land if the weather gets too bad for flying and parking it in your own garage, is immensely attractive. Owning an airplane is often considered a toy for the middle class because it's not too practical for even regional transportation due to you have to leave the plane at the airport and find a cab once you land. But this changes everything. If they would have kept the price at $125,000 then it is justifiable for those who live outside of the big cities which in North America amounts to about 60,000,000 million people, (based on 80% urban and 20% rural).

Amazon drones... people will shoot them down use signal jamming whatever to steal packages. Then there's wind birds weather and general mechanical failure permitting it reaching it's location. Then you need recovery teams for downed drones if it happens the package is probably toast as well. Half the time google maps is wrong or off by a few hundred yards so that's also an issue. Good in theory but in reality it's simply a logistical nightmare.
