- A three-week old robot at the MIT Media Lab is weaving a cocoon-like structure with a little programming help from humans. Eventually it will be autonomous. Follow IDG News Service multimedia correspondent on Twitter @nickjb.
Edit: this particular robot is meant to be a stepping stone in that direction.
Basically it's a fancy way to show off your new over-engineered algorithm.
The idea is to design a robot that can construct something based on its surroundings.
It's not a robot spider!
skynet's full potential has finally been realized! Now everyone on earth will be attacked by christmas sweaters!
interesting... sounds like spiderman stuff... cool... goodluck witht the project...
I feel cheated out of my time by this video - "right now the robot knows the positions of the hooks and is pre-programmed for the patters... researchers are planning to make it autonomous"
So, the arm's movements are hard-coded, no robotic vision, and it looks like no sensory feedback either...at this level the project does not deserve the "MIT" in its title. Sorry.
Please post a video when the machine is actually doing its own design and decisions. Robotic spider? Please...
Mecatrônica é zika! !!
what's the purpose of it again?!
To slow!
dude..nature is slow..and i've not seen any robot perfect nature..so it is actually fast..you get what i mean to say?
wOW! Amazing tech! not
