1:35 The American's decision to leave the first town and go to the second has nothing at all do with the first town being "small and boring." He does it because he's cautious. Or paranoid.
The American is simply worried that 'the Swedes' will find him again, and that he doesn't know for sure if even Pavel can be trusted. And the first town being smaller means it would be harder for him to remain anonymous amongst the townspeople in the event people come to the area looking for him. So he covers his butt by throwing everyone a curveball. This is also why he tosses the phone Pavel gave him. His justification to Pavel later regarding his decision is disingenuous, and both men know it.

Fun fact: The actor who plays Father Benedetto also played the leader of the libertines (the one with the beard) in the '70s horror movie "120 Days of Sodom". Hard to see either movie in the same light after you learn that fact. Also, in the novel, Jack was not an assassin but a gunsmith whose name & national origin were never revealed (but I suspect, based on subtle textual clues, he was Irish). His specialty was making what are now called "ghost guns". The audiobook version of it is actually a great listen; definitely recommended for fans of the movie. Great video; thanks for giving attention to this excellent story!

Especially, heist type movies, a prime example is "Heat" man, that movie was great but if De Niro had gotten away at the end it would have been way better:)

This is what we are led to believe. Clara had met a man on
the way to the secret place who offered her 20 euros to
come to his apartment. She was still there when they
were shooting the scene by the creek, so they had to
bring Mathilde back, revive her, wash her face and have
it turn out that it was Mathilde who Jack really loved.
In the book, it was Clara who took the shot at Jack with
her two-inch long-distance barrel automatic. It misfired
and as she worked with it, it went off, missing Jack but
shooting off one of her big toes. This is the way it is in
      the book.

At 1:59 Jack is wearing an Omega Speedmaster Professional. What is special about this watch? When Apollo 11 landed on the moon, Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, now age 93, was born in 1930 and wore the first .321 cal.Omega Speedmaster wristwatch on the moon. All other subsequent wristwatches were Omega Speedmasters worn on the moon except during a third EVA on 08/02/1971 during his third moonwalk, astronaut David Scott decided not to use his Omega Speedmaster on and EVA because he claimed the Hasilite crystal popped off in the LM requiring him to use a back up watch that Bulova made for him as a one of a kind watch "just in case" something went wrong with his Speedmaster. So David Scott on 08/02/1971 wore a Bulova watch on his third EVA which became the only other "moon watch" besides the Omega Speedmaster to have been worn by any human being on the Lunar surface. I can not imagine under what circumstances the almost unbreakable Omega Speedmaster Professional would have its Hasilite crystal suddenly pop off in the Lunar Module, unless David Scott needed to use his backup Bulova one-of-a-kind racing wristwatch. To be clear, his Bulova Wristwatch was not one of many others, but it was a model specially made for him "just in case" his Omega Speedmaster might suddenly break during an EVA.
On or about 2017 or so, Bulova decided to make a replica of Scott's wristwatch (not a duplicate as Omega has always made before during and after the Apollo missions). After the first two EVAs when Scott was wearing his Omega Speedmaster everything was fine with the wristwatch. But suddenly, the wristwatch which was made especially for him in case of a necessity during the third EVA was needed, NASA allowed his Bulova wristwatch to be used after his Omega suddenly had a major malfunction, that is the plastic crystal suddenly popped off while in the LM. Scott then used his one of a kind and specially made watch that nobody has ever worn before in outer space to make a third EVA on the Moon.
Back around the year 2017 (plus or minus a year or so) David Scott sold his one of a kind Bulova on a private internet auction for about 1.7 million dollars. You don't have to believe me, just purchase a replica (which I did) of this model and the package insert will verify this same story. Was it an accident that Scott's Bulova was suddenly needed because his Omega Speedmaster crystal popped off? That is a good question, especially because Scott was previously accused of bringing other impermissible items on board prior missions and was admonished for doing so. In any event, since I own a pre-lunar Omega Speedmaster that was made before the Apollo 11 launch, I had to purchase the Bulova David Scott version of the only other type of wristwatch ever worn on the moon. I could not stand to own one but not the other.
Good for Scott for making a tidy 1.7 million dollar profit from a watch that I paid about $425.00 for just after it came out on the market. BTW, the Bulova is the most accurate wristwatch I've ever owned. It is so accurate that it's 262 kHz crystal will maintain it's time to the second with respect to the GPS military system to about 1 second for every six months or so. The Bulova is nowhere as hearty, robust, nor as strong as the Omega Speedmaster. However, the Omega requires that you to set the time every so often by winding its mechinal movement while the Bulova only requires you to make sure you put the battery in correctly. The Bulova keeps time so much better than any Omega, or Rolex or Tag or any other mechinachal wristwatch. But so what? Mechanical Wristwatches are the epitome of perfection while crystal watches are the drone version of real mechanical watches, IMHO of course.

I believe that is an old soviet scope with a silicon eye piece meant to sit around your eye. It has a long accordian piece to account for eye relief. You can see the soft ribs of the silicon eye piece. What i don't like is the folding stock does not have a cheek piece for a cheek weld. Not having one would make it difficult for accurate shots because your head is just floating over the rifle.

Pretty good movie, compared to garbage they make today.
I enjoyed the process when he was making the rifle.
In the end, it feels like something more could have been done with the movie,or at least the expectation was such.
Overall, I would still give it 4/5 stars.

You are right, Brian. The reason given for killing
Ingrid is silly at best. I think it was given to us to
      show just to show just how ruthless Jack could be;
then the rest of the film is spent rehabilitating him.
After watching this whole stupid summary of a
very stupid move, I wish it could have been Ingrid
carrying the rifle and after killing the assassins,
she turned around and killed Jack. Then this
