My favorite interaction with JWs is when 2 ladies came to our door to talk about the Bible, and my dad pulled out his Bible and proceeded to shut down every single one of their points with Bible verses. After that, whenever JWs cane to our neighborhood, they would go to every house- except ours. Because they knew they stood no chance
no its because you got put as a do not call because you seemed uninterested so we were not gonna pry its your choice to accept what we want to say and you think your so sigma for that? shutting down two woman just trying to serve god? and if someone did come back its cause theyd be more prepared for your questions and you most liklely didnt shut them down are versions of the bible are mostly the same other than the way its written instead of thys we have thes
@Mind_mender The fact that you used the words 'so sigma" tells me everything I need to know about you. Also, those women are not serving God. They are part of a cult. JW was founded in 1879; the true Christian Church was founded in 33. Galatians 1:8 tells us that the Bible is the last Testament of God, and there will be no more Gospels given to man by God. Not to mention the countless other points that I won't get into here for the sake of keeping this short, but I'd be glad to discuss it further if you would like.
@@Mind_mender "The word cult is defined as a system or group of people who practice excessive devotion to a figure, object, or belief system, typically following a charismatic leader" combine this meaning, the video and how Jehovah witnesses act and you can guess why.
I 'm an American living in Korea. Here, the JW's have an interesting tactic. Everyone has a doorbell cam hooked up to a monitor inside their apartments. You can see who's at your door before you open it. They seem to know if its a guy or a girl living at a place. If it's a guy, they put a young pretty 20-something woman in front of the camera. If a woman lives at the place, they put an attractive 20- something guy in front of the camera But as you open the door. you are greeted by an older adult who will start the usual spiel. This is what we call "the honey trap".
I’m not sure I’d believe a young woman living by herself would open the door for a man, no matter how attractive. Some really dumb/horny ones yeah, but what sane woman would put herself in danger like that? Not saying you’re lying, I’m calling the Korean JW cult stupid for that particular tactic. I believe the man with a pretty young woman one, just not a lone woman opening her door for a random guy.
I think is a little kid showed up on my doorstep in a suit and tie on a Saturday, I’m not sure I could listen to anything being said. I would only be thinking, “poor kid. You should be out in your bike today getting dirty and causing trouble.”
Exactly!! I hated weekends precisely because of that. My biggest problem during meetings was that i was bored out of my mind and i had to sit completely still for hours.. Worst part is that i could see other kids playing outside the window.. And no one would ever invite me becuase they knew who my family was..
That's right. Children should be enjoying the weekends, playing, having fun with friends or family instead of being salesmen for an organization in New York. 😞
Roughly 60 ago, when my grandmother was a young woman, a family of JWs knocked on her door. It was the height of summer in Louisiana, 100+ degree heat and 100% humidity. No one was outside by choice. The two kids were in long sleeved, thick clothes; red in the face and clearly exhausted. Door's barely open before the parents start the usual spiel, which grandma ignores to ask the kids if theyd like some water or juice to cool off, one of the parents denies for them because theyre trying to preach. Grandma ignored that and grabbed a couple juice boxes so the kids could cool off. She then proceeded to rip the parents a new one about "forcing babies to walk door to door in this heat." There were threats to involve child welfare because the kids were on the verge of heat stroke and the parents "clearly cared more about preaching than their children." Cue the parents panicking and scooping up the kids to rush down the road to their car and get out of the neighborhood. Grandma put the fear of Angry Irish-Italian Mamas into those parents that day. JWs still skip her street when they do their Saturday preaching.
I sent my mom your videos and she blocked me. Now she will have to think about your channel. She may even watch your videos. It’s the seed of doubt I sewed. She’s too proud to be wrong even if she’s 100% wrong.
The sad part about these attitudes is that in any other walk of life, denying science, facts and believing in mythical books, you are deemed mentally unwell. This does not apply to religion apparently. Religion can be great, it can teach good values and morals, however it can also be very dangerous… I hope you have other support outside your family my friend, all the best 💚
@@Aleksander_Zgraja_Star It is the Opium they use. Like Opium, religion, or rather CULTS, numb the normal senses, especially awareness, the same as Opium kills the sense of pain. SAYING: Religion is the OPIUM of the people.
Dunno about American laws, but it's weird that it is not illegal to use children for religious propaganda. It should be prohibited just like child labor. Because it is one.
@HawkThunder907 this not a religion but a cult. A cult and religion is really different. In a religion kids are allowed to play whit evryone who has a different religion while in a cult you only can hang out whit people who also in your cult. @@coolcupcake416 omg we got a real one -- how is the doomsday cult going?? to live every day towards a goal that will inevitably waste thousands of people's time???
You've got to love how JWs don't celebrate Halloween, because heaven forbid strangers dressed in strange clothing randomly show up at *their* doors. Also "trick or treat" means "I'll play a trick on you if you don't give me a treat", which is kind of similar to "join our doomsday cult or you'll suffer horribly in the Apocalypse, you tight-pants wearing heathen". Not really.
In my church the pastor says we don’t have to dress nice or even go to church to praise God. We just… do. In day to day life. There are no strings attached.
Mine said if you were gay, you were going to hell (three weeks in a row), and my family just sat there awkwardly, because we do NOT believe that, and my parents know that my oldest sibling and I are both gay- I mean, you can have your own beliefs, but dude, if gay people were going to hell, then why on God's green earth would the big guy in heaven make me gay??
@@AJscorner007 yeah! Love is something no one can control, and God lets things happen for a reason. If he didn't want us he'd probably already remove us from the world or we'd feel guilty 24/7
A family member of mine had a problem with JWs ringing his doorbell early on Sunday mornings and each time he would open the door and kindly say he wasn't interested. He is a builder who only has the possibility to rest on Sundays. After about five weeks of this he opens the door in his boxers and loudly exclaims "We worship the Devil here!" They ran off and never came back.
I was also rung up by JWs early in the morning, I don't remember if it was Saturday or not, nevertheless I did not hold myself back from saying all the things I had to say to someone who woke me up and tried to deliver some fake ass message before I had coffee. They never came back

I was friends with a JW. She didn’t see anything wrong with it, our friends did. She wasn’t allowed to come over to someone’s house if they weren’t a JW. She wasn’t allowed to go to university. Wasn’t allowed any holidays (they did something called family day where they gave each other presents) Wasn’t allowed to wear certain clothes. I live in New Zealand and at school we learn Māori (the native people before the English came) she wasn’t allowed to speak it or do the traditional dances. She wasn’t allowed to date someone who wasn’t a JW. It was hell
What's wrong with Māori? One can't explain Bible in Māori? o.O By the way, Bible, ad an ancient and multiple times rewritten and copied text, is old fashioned about women. S.Paul's First Letter to the Corinths could pop-up in your mind, but there's more: Jehovah's Witnesses tell it aloud that males are better than females just because they're stronger and they've not got to carry a baby. I wonder if there's a cartoon about this tiny difference between the two sexes.
I think i can be some families tho, i mean all families are different i used to be a jw ( I live in New Zealand too lol) and i was allowed to do traditional dances and learn māori even joined a kapa haka group when i was school but she should be able to learn it because you need to be able to yk explain the bible in māori when she goes preaching soo, it really depends on the parents, it can be good , it can be bad.
@@Berry.VeryTeary - So, there's nothing in Bible in which a language is forbidden. Once I knew a Jehovah's Witness girl who was uneasy abour her cross-shaped necklace: as the cross is a christian symbol but not in JW community, she thought it could be against God. I don't know what her parents told her, but I was there and I told her that it was just a tiny jewel and she did not worship it. It was just a tiny ornament. Until one does not worship it, I think it's Ok. Real problems are faraway from tiny jewels, to me, but I am not a JW so I don't really know what happend to her and her necklace.
Thank you. I grew up in the 80s/90s I wasn't allowed to wear baggy jeans and forced to wear really tight pants. I got bullied in school for my appearance and being a jdub of course.
Fashion changes and other groups appropriate them. High heels and stockings used to be for men way back when. A lot of what was typical men's fashion in the disco days would certainly be "festive" today. But these things come and go. It's just a matter of time before it changes.
As a Jehovahs Witness child i grew up not even being allowed to buy pokemon cards due to it meaning "Pocket monster" and my parents said its "Satans doing" i wasn't even allowed to play games like Minecraft due it having zombies in it so most kids in my school thought i was weird making it hard for me to make friends.

my parents live really close to a JW meeting whatsitcalled, and they told me that about a week ago someone came preaching at the door, and when my dad slammed the door on him the preacher put his foot in the door to keep it open, and forced himself inside Yeah they had to call the police to get him out
Wow. I have a story similar to this! I was in my early twenties and I was over at my cousin’s place watching her twins for the morning. Took one of the babies to the back bedroom to change a diaper and heard the door open, so I quickly grabbed kiddo and went back to the living room and there was this random lady standing there in the opened doorway trying to give me a Watchtower magazine. She didn’t come in, but she sure didn’t wait for anyone to answer the door! It freaked me right out. But definitely taught me a lesson about keeping the door locked!
I once got one out by holding a dead turkey my extended family was butchering for dinner and a knife. They dont bother me anymore. The way they acted scared the daylights out of me glad they are gone. Definitly glad you reported them to the police
TL;DR for that last short: "Mom, Dad, I'm tired of having the door slammed in my face and want to take a break for a while. Is that okay?" "Did Jesus give up?" "No." "Then you're not giving up either, you quitter!"
I had a friend in high school that was JW and she was the sweetest person I knew at the time. She didn’t preach to me or anything and was just happy that I wasn’t rude to her or even wanting to talk about anything religion related as I didn’t grow up religious myself. Definitely someone I could see hopefully leaving the organization someday. But it makes me sad to think of all the people she did likely close herself off from and all of the rules she had to follow. I hope she’s doing well today and is thriving in her own personality and not one chosen for her.
if a JW ever shows up at my door I’ll just agree to go to like… a meeting or something, and wear my sunday best: - tight, ripped jeans good enough to make me look like i had a BBL - obligatory rainbow t-shirt - platform boots - egregious amount of jewelry - stylish red horn headband paired with the elegant “fountain bangs” style - face caked with so much makeup you would think i was a mime - communist manifesto in one hand, dianetics in the other - decorative blue & pink furry tail
20:25 I imagine that many JW parents in real life would just automatically scold their kids -- and that they certainly wouldn't bother asking to kids to think up their own reason to change their minds about wanting a break! Caleb and Sophia have unrealistically understanding parents...

Jehovah's witnesses are forbidden from celebrating any type of holiday Christmas birthday parties Halloween etc so because they had a Jehovah's witness kid in the class they were unable to celebrate because of his beliefs
I remember having this one JW girl in my school, she was always missing out on holidays and I once asked her about it, I kid you not though, she whispered to me like it was a secret that would ruin her life “I’m a jehovas witness”. I look back on that a lot after finding out about the reality behind those words (The emphasis on my comment was the fact she was probably ashamed or scared to talk about it)
I used to hate going in service, I'm from Guatemala and we had horrible, dangerous neighborhoods in the territory assigned to the congregation I went to, I always thought it was irresponsible for parents to take their children to these places. There were days that it was raining so bad and we'd still go. Nowadays, when they come knocking at my door I ignore them
I was born into the jehovahs witnesses and left when I was 18. These videos really trigger something in me that I suppressed completely and forgot it's crazy... My childhood being a Jehovah's Witness is summarized in bullying, teasing and harassment at school and towards the other children in my neighborhood. Plus I'm autistic and I was never good at communicating with other people, so every day after preaching or going to meetings I was guaranteed a beating from my mother for not knowing how to preach well or not being able to sit still for 2 hours of preaching and meeting. . Added to that is that at 15 years old I told my parents that I was gay, it was another beating and almost 6 months without them speaking to me, in addition to consecutive sessions with the elders of the congregation to be able to deal with my "situation." I literally still go to psychologists and psychiatrists because of the various traumas that my parents and that cult left me with.
I hope you'll be able to give that horrible past a place and grow beyond it. Stuff like that scars you for life. The abuse you had to go through is not ok, its torture, by all means. I cringed shortly after 1:44, when I realised how exposed that child is. We had a Jewish boy, Herrman, in our elementary school growing up. This was in the early 2000's. He was made to live religiously per his dad's wishes. That meant different clothing (others were not allowed to wear hats indoors, even if they would like to since "it's not our culture, it's his"), different food that looked way fresher, and he got to leave school earlier than other students on fridays. Some of the other eight-year-olds interpreted this as preferential treatment. It became a controversy the class. American rappers were all the rage, so some boys wondered why they couldn't look cool if Herrman could wear his hat indoors? Teachers explained this only with "that's their religion, end of story". Then when this eight-year-old couldn't answer questions about his dad's religion (who could?), he was eventually bullied. Don't make small children ambassadors for your religion, they can't handle it. If you are a teacher, don't set up different rules for different children without a painstaking explanation as to why. I felt bad for Herrman, he had to change schools. I still think about his fate sometimes.

We were never allowed over on Saturday or Sunday mornings because my mom didn't want them indoctrinating us kids. I was always so confused as to why my dad never really liked Christmas or Halloween, or even birthdays (yeah some don't even celebrate birthdays). He would always complain about the waste of money it was. Another absolutely cultish and horrible thing is that when my aunt made the decision to leave her ABUSIVE husband the church kicked her out and her family, even her two daughters, disowned her. She left a husband that hurt her and for putting herself before the blessing that was her marriage. They don't believe in divorce at all. Its just sad how strict they are. I remember going to one service (the only one I had ever gone to that made my mom not let us go over there when they would bring us to the service) and people just kept coming up to me and hugging me. JW's are also very big on marriage within the community, the moment I stepped in that building it was like the hounds had come out hoping to set me up with one of their sons (jokes on them I like women). This is the main reason that my mom didn't want me there because many older boys (13-15) were being encouraged by their families to come and talk to me, offer to start courting the 10 year old. It was insane looking back. Then I thought it was weird but I didn't quite understand by virtue of being a literal child. I also remember one day (i was around 12-13) they brought some of their friends from church to their house for a little get together, and there for some reason had been some talks about me being promised to this older man. (maybe late 20's early 30's). I could now understand what was happening so I immediately called my mom to come and get me because there was no way I was gonna allow my grandparents to promise me to some random guy when I turned 18. I don't think this occurs within all JW communities but it certainly did at my grandparents. Traumatizing to say the least, I dodged a bomb with this one.

Most of my family is inside the JW and one thing that bothers me a lot is how they treat mentally ill people that CLEARLY have fallen into diferent issues such as depression, schizophrenia or others BECAUSE of the religion. My cousin has been depressed since she was 14 (about 8 years now) and tried to off herself about 2 years ago. Her companions in JW told her to read the bible to feel better after she OBVIOUSLY blamed herself for her contradictory thoughts about the religion. I hated seeing people speak about my cousin badly behind her back because of her feelings and thoughts that she CANNOT control. Thank you for spreading the message on how religions like this hurt people, me and many ex-jehova's witness will feel trully greatful for your content. you’re right, it is ridiculous. I wish it wasn’t so common for children to be born into this; I can say from experience because of what my family put me through due to their views on religion. I hope the best for you man, and remember, you won’t always feel trapped to be into exactly what your family wants you to
Not to be rude but I think it’s more on how our parents raised us because my brother isn’t in jw and my mother doesn’t mind anything he does.I think it’s more on where we grow up because I see other parents forcing their kids into it unlike my mom. (My brother smoke weed and vape and she doesn’t mind the only rule is that he does it outside)
As someone who grew up in a Christian religion and grew up to realize they were neurodivergent and queer, seeing someone else discussing other types and what they've dealt with is so nice. Learning about this helps unwrap some other kinda ridiculousness. I wish you a great rest of your day! ❤
19:25 broke me. Even though I wasn't in Jehovah's Witness, I was in Christianity. This may not have been said to me but constant referral back to "the holy word" does happen decently often. (and I was doing so well.)

My grandparents are still JWs and whenever I stayed at their house they would have these cartoons playing literally all the time. It was the only thing allowed on the TV with kids in the house.
Back then I wasn't very good with my Spanish but now I know they were saying things like "I'm so glad your here" and glad that I had been "converted".
