    I believe Gertrude Jekyll was the designer of the gardens and Edwin Lutyens the monuments (including the Cenotaph ).

    The Commonwealth war graves commission pays local gardeners to tend the war graves to this day, even if its a jungle clearing in Burma. I am sure the American war graves commission does much the same. I am sure the Germany military even the Nazis would respect the graves of all the English speaking peoples.

    We get care from the CWGC gardeners. In Rheindahlen MC they look after our son, and in Templeux-le Guerard MC Northern Extension they look after my grandfather.

    Thank you Mark, thoroughly enjoyed it. Fascinating to hear about the gardeners and all the rest. Strange thinking my Grandmother (born late 1800s) and my mother (born 1915) lived in Belgium throughout 2 World wars.
