It is a great bike, unfortunately the frame is prone to cracking at the seat stays. I'm waiting for my third warranty frame (which apparently has been revised) to arrive.
I'm looking to purchase this bike but I've seen others saying the same thing you have. So, have you gotten the new bike? If so, have they fixed the problem?
Would this be a worthy upgrade from a Bobcat Trail 3? I mainly do flowy single track trails. Not a whole lot of jumping and not much tech. I’m from Wisconsin and the trails are loam with some rock features. Not sure what to do, but I want a bike with a better fork, 1x, and a dropper post.
Yes this would be a Big upgrade over the bobcat trail three. The bobcat Trail 3 is a good entry level hardtail mountain bike but the team are in two as a whole different animal. It would be great for your flowy Trails in Wisconsin.
I don't think so. Why do not you just upgrade your fork to something like El Cid by Rockshox and Shimano XT complete groupset? DT Swiss 1800 wheels? Michelin tyres? You do not need That frame for 2K!!!
It's such a bummer hearing about the frame issues on this bike. It's such a sick set up! The geo is totally dialed in to what I was looking for- something fast and light but also fun and playful and capable enough to throw in some lighter trail riding as well. It's just too bad. Maybe next year's will be better.. 😞
There lifetime on frames and their good with their warranty. The frames are very light and they have a bridge now in the upper seat stays. My buddy still runs his Marin nail trail 6 looks pretty much the same. He’s 6-3’ and has achieved KOM’s at hawes mesa Arizona. I would worry about
I was looking forward to you making a vid on this bike when I saw you finally had some in stock. good stuff. If anybody is still on the fence for this bike Hardtail Party has an excellent 25 min on the bike ride review. th-cam.com/video/wMtW0p6FWV4/w-d-xo.html This guy is out of Sedona, AZ so he very rarely tests xc bikes, yet this one ended up being one of his most favorite reviews. If it's that much fun in Northern AZ how much of a blast should this bike be on the gulf coast, or almost any kind of trail? Hopefully in a few months to a year I'll be getting one from BBW.
Just ordered the new blue one!!

After hearing all of the problems, I bought the Norco Fluid HT. It has very similar geo, hopefully a good bike.
Just when I thought I found my new bike. Hope they fix this problem, I was looking forward to having it as my first new bike
SEATSTAY WILL SNAP 100 %

Right on. Thank you
Don't do it, they are having problems with the frames cracking. Even Steve at HTP is telling people not to buy it if you are over 180 lbs.
