hello! i wanna build my own vu meter for my synthesizer desk inspired custom custom made desk (think sessiondesk). i was wondering what pre-amp board you used and if it's still available? i could just buy the one currently on your ebay store but i don't wanna tear open the beautiful shell just to put in behind the desk's control panel i also don't want to pay the new eu import fees
Thanks for reaching out to ask. The "preamp" is called driver and if you search on any platform "VU meters driver board" you will find all sorts of models. It doesn't to be expensive to be good. Sometimes you can get the meters with a driver board as well. Like this you know that they are working together. For your application I think you need a signal level VU meterdisplays in dB and not WATSS. These meters display both but the driver is for dB in big lines. Hope it helps.
