My favourite ABBA song.
One of my favorite Abba songs. Neither of the couples had broken up here at this point. They did a few years later though. I recommend The Winner Takes It All. That has a real life experience and backstory. It's about the end of Agnetha(blonde woman) and Björn's(without the beard) marriage. Another favorite from me.

Great band. Been in love with them since Waterloo hit the USA back in 1974, I was 10 years old, lol.
"the winner takes it all" is their biggest breakup song. And welcome to the rabbit hole of ABBA music, they have 20+ hits.
For being from the 70s they have lots of videos, at the time not many did videos, some said "no, don't do videos, you have to play live", well today it's the norm.

"Knowing me knowing you" (1976)
is on the album "Arrival" along with "Dancing Queen" and many other beautiful songs
"Knowing me knowing you" is ABBA's second biggest hit in UK with five weeks at #1 in 1977 (only behind Dancing Queen with six weeks)
Curiosly in April 1977 ABBA have both sons at #1 on both sides of the Atlántic Ocean:
Dancing Queen in U.S.
Knowing me knowing you in UK
So different and beautiful both songs
That is the characteristic of ABBA, to be very versatile, avoid repetition and seek excellence and perfection in their melodies and vocal harmonies.
The lyrics are simple but very deep It allows to express the pain of a separation And contrasts it with a very catchy melody (another ABBA characteristic)
The combination of female voices is pure beauty (my favorite passage is when Agnetha does the echoing voice of Frida's lead voice)
The official video is one of their best They constantly play with the image of the threesomes And with separations

one of my favorites by them. the perfect divorce song. I'd recommend some stuff off their Voulez-Vous album (aka their disco album), If It Wasn't For The Nights, As Good As New, Angeleyes, and Kisses Of Fire. I'm partial to Kisses Of Fire, literally just posted a remix of it a day or 2 ago here to YT! lol. Its hard to find an ABBA song that you won't like, though. There's a reason they were on top during their run.

@@eduardooscar309 Says who? Sounds like a typical myth to me. Even if true, that's was nothing we noticed. Abba was basically just one of many schlager artists and bands here in the 1970s. Sure, they made money, but hardly more than big industrial export companies.
