I'm originally from South Africa but grew up mostly in Kensington and Chelsea in London. I used to watch the other 6N teams but Wales excited me the most. They had flair players that other countries had few of. Wales historically are quite close to 5N/6N England titles et al. With a very small rugby playing population; and indeed nation as a whole. The others are way behind England and Wales....🏴 and 🇮🇪. This makes them extremely jealous of Wales for some reason. For example, I've heard terrible manners towards Wales at Murrayfield, whereas in Cardiff the Welsh welcome the Scots. The Irish are the most jealous of Wales and won't even applaud some of their tries. Mike Phillips knew how to beat them and then they moan, moan, moan. You only have to look at the old people, when Jonathan Davies goes over, to see what I mean. That's why I love ANYONE to beat Ireland the most...their bad sportsmanship.
Haha, maybe. England played really well to be fair.. Wales are effectively a 3rd tear team going into the World Cup. Sucks for whichever group gets them.. Including England.. Wales have won the grand slam 3 times since 2008, every team should fear our boys, especially at full strength. Like I said, we'll see what happens in the 6 nations. Should be an exciting tournament
+Luke Jones I agree. The current coaching really do need to wake up and realize we're playing completely the wrong way. Wales have (or should have) enough pace and flair to play that sort of style, we've shown flashes of down the years, which would blow teams off the park. And for a while now we've had a back line most coaches can only dream about. Trouble is Gatland et al don't seem to believe in flair, pace, panache and creativity. It's all about physicality and smashing up the middle. And as for James Hook...what a BLOODY WASTE!
I think, the coaching are good, their just falling off track and not reached their full potential, We've got a great coaching side,we just need to show it haha, the coaching are not giving it 100%, if they did , they'd be a great coaching side and we'd be one of the best teams in the world and I honestly think, if the coaching lived up to what they can do , we could compete with new zealand and actually have a good chance aha, Just look at when we were vs south africa in the world cup, we almost beat them so we can do it when we put our minds to it, sorry this is a long reply haha, was only planning a 2 line reply :L
But if the coaching team are under performing, surely that reflects the whole performance of the National side? Yet again Wales failed to live up to their full potential, playing to their strengths - using their backs, looking for space - (AND NOT JUST CONTACT) only when it was too late: last 30 minutes against Italy 2015 when they needed to rack up 30 plus points; and last 20 v England 2016 with the game seemingly beyond them. Wales created virtually nothing against Ireland, Scotland and France, the latter game absolutely dreadful, with North's try yet again coming from a mistake. I make no apology in saying that (England '16) was one of the worse Grand Slams of all time. If you had to pick a British Lions team tomorrow then at least half would be Welsh: Wyn Jones, Faletau, Warburton, Lydiate ?, Halfpenny (when fit) Scott Williams, Jon Davies and George North. Then there's Tipuric, Webb and Roberts. I rest my case.
