The film is masterpiece, the atmosphesre of 50s,the costumes, the music, great directing, the great performance of the actors, especially of Cate Blanchett! Bravo 👏
I've watched it so many times! This movie is full of symbolism in its aesthetics, like the fogged car windows, the sewer grate at the start, and I'd say the color red and green, Christmas colors, are not only about their passion, are also because when they are together they feel joy and happiness (christmas is about that) when they're apart they come back to browns colors, red and green represent happiness within their lonely real worlds.
Watched it for the first time yesterday and absolutely loved it. It's one of those films I'd just rewatch for the beauty of particular scenes and the cinematography in addition to the narrative. Just so emotionally touching, though never sentimental, rather sensitive and sublimely melancholic. Looking forward to seeing Todd Haynes' other films.
you mean the telegram that carol receives just before she gets the gun out? if so, i'm almost certain it's from abby, whom carol had been keeping in touch with over the trip (insofar as i remember from the book)

"cinema relies on the gays" SO TRUE
Great video
Other than that I really liked your essay
masterpiece
So what was in the telegram, who sent it and how did they know where to reach Carol?

infravalorada
I need subtitles.
You should call her Thérèse, like she says in the film.
