@@hallowedbethygame2840 That is true but I'm looking at his project from another angle. Let's say he sets up his bike with the lightest parts possible simply to get the lightest bike record or at least bragging rights. Then takes it out for a spin to prove it is a real bike and functions. Job done, he has the lightest bike! Then after his accomplishment is recognized he can switch back to whatever parts he feels comfortable thrashing with on a day to day basis. You see in my mind it needs to only work long enough for the recognition making his task a lot easier. He could also for instance use road bike tape for bar grips, run the bike brakeless, plastic pedals, narrower tires, and a lighter chain, all for the purpose of bringing it under 14 pounds which I think is a stretch, but possible.
The primary advantage of the material is that at a given stiffness, carbon fiber is significantly lighter than aluminum, steel, or titanium. This lower density also means carbon frames do a better job of absorbing (rather than transmitting) road vibration, which translates into a more comfortable ride.
i have a question i noticed all of them only have one brake lever , does that brake both front and back or just the back because i always see them doing the i think called tire taps where the land on the front tire and turn it around but the front tire stays still is it because of brakes or are they that good at making it not move what so ever

But have a muddy situation to jump over or ride through, use you're imagination but not with the DK prestige titanium bike. Use a different bike for him that day.
