Smackdown 2 had a Hell in a Cell that was a cage with a roof too. Also in the N64 games, they are eliminated if they fall through the middle ropes too.

They didn’t use Jericho in the No Mercy storyline, because they were anticipating you playing as him. One of the branching stories takes you through the a story clearly written for Jericho.

And also Pay-Per-View arenas are out of place.. WWE 2K15 is a bad offender for this. Why have a Extreme Rules 2014 arena when every Pay-Per-View after that one is a 2013 version? Just stick all Pay-Per-View arenas in uniform while Royal Rumbles, Elimination Chambers and WrestleManias to be the current year that game was made in. (All Pay-Per-View arenas before Royal Rumble should be the year before).
Once the games were full-fledged producing for both Ps3 alongside 360, the up-to-date cutoff for arenas became far earlier. Look at games from Shut Your Mouth to Smackdown Vs. Raw 2007, they were able to get arenas up to June/July of the release year. From Smackdown Va. Raw 2008 up to 2K16, the cutoff up-to-date arena would be the first payperview after the release year's Wrestlemania, typically the April/May Backlash or Extreme Rules. 2K16 was able to stretch a bit by sneaking in Elimination Chamber 2015, but this was a pretty consistent aspect in that era. 2K17 was when things finally got a bit more up-to-date, though the Raw and Smackdown arenas were obviously still outdated, they were able to get the cutoff a bit later up to Money in the Bank 2016. While we didn't get the Universal title, the Universe Mode's default setting was surprisingly able to reflect where the 2016 Brand Extension situated everyone. 2K18 was able to go a tad bit further thanks to a patch, their cutoff point all the way up to Great Balls of Fire 2017. By this point we pretty much got up-to-date arenas like we did in 2002-2006.
7:34 the tag teams that actually did hold the tag titles for Raw and SmackDown around that time in Deuce n Domino and I believe Cade and Murdoch weren't even in the game which also says a lot about what WWE thought of the tag division at the time
I loved the big slap for a finisher. Every new game I'd make a wrestler that was all strikes, even their grapples and submissions would be the striking ones, and have that as their main finisher just for laughs.

I can name a couple of wrong gimmick entrances. For example Rob Conway who at the time was doing the "Con Man" gimmick came out in his La Resistance attire to his current music. Then there was Day of Reckoning 2 where they brought in legends. They decided to bring in classic Hulk Hogan who had Hollywood Hogan's entrance motions. Then there was Kane for one of the Day of Reckoning games who had his unmasked entrance video but came out in a mask.

What I always wondered was why they always leave out Austin's career after turning heel and with the alliance. Some of those matches were pivotal, and gold to some of us. Kurt Angle several times. RVD. The Rock. The invasion and survivor series. Hilarious moments. It's only slightly mentioned. But they have the alliance theme, although it has two shattered glass sounds. Dumb.
lets not forget about paul bearer having brown hair in wwe2k14. on 30 years of wrestlemania when you play through undertaker vs king kong bundy, paul has brown hair for some reason even though at that time his hair was still black. there really isn't an excuse they couldn't make his hair black, SvR 2011, legends of wrestlemania, and wwe all stars all got it right, so why can't 2k14?
I have no idea what you're talking about for Raw 2. There is a glitch where if you are standing on the apron, regardless of whether you went over or under the top rope, you can be eliminated by contact. However, unlike most wrestling games, you are free to leave under the top rope and even bring weapons into the ring, making it quite unique. The CPU in Rumble matches is dumb af tho.
When it comes to the gimmick part there's nothing they can do now but have an update for it by adding it as dlc. Like with Rodrick Strong in WWE2K19 when the game was out he was with The Undisputed. All people could do was update his gear then add him with the team and just use which ever motion felt a bit natural. But when the dlc came out for it there was no need for that previous motion. As for championships yeah nothing they can do but make the "current" champion the default then let people change it so it can match what is currently going on.
It still took up a slot to recreate UE Roderick Strong though, literally no excuse for Strong not being in UE ring gear in 2K19 as he joined the group in early April 2018

Funny thing about the Tyson issue is that if you didn't get the dlc for WWE 13 they use the same character as a replacement.

What I always wondered was why they always leave out Austin's career after turning heel and with the alliance. Some of those matches were pivotal, and gold to some of us. Kurt Angle several times. RVD. The Rock. The invasion and survivor series. Hilarious moments. It's only slightly mentioned. But they have the alliance theme, although it has two shattered glass sounds. Dumb.

I have no idea what you're talking about for Raw 2. There is a glitch where if you are standing on the apron, regardless of whether you went over or under the top rope, you can be eliminated by contact. However, unlike most wrestling games, you are free to leave under the top rope and even bring weapons into the ring, making it quite unique.
The CPU in Rumble matches is dumb af tho.

When it comes to the gimmick part there's nothing they can do now but have an update for it by adding it as dlc.
Like with Rodrick Strong in WWE2K19 when the game was out he was with The Undisputed. All people could do was update his gear then add him with the team and just use which ever motion felt a bit natural. But when the dlc came out for it there was no need for that previous motion.
As for championships yeah nothing they can do but make the "current" champion the default then let people change it so it can match what is currently going on.
It still took up a slot to recreate UE Roderick Strong though, literally no excuse for Strong not being in UE ring gear in 2K19 as he joined the group in early April 2018
@@RNC200711 you have to keep in mind they won't have an "up-to-date" rosters when they put the game into development.
@@SuperSpeed21 I understand that but as Strong was a part of UE way before the game was released they could have gone back and changed it, they did it with Sasha's hair in 2K20, it's something when you have to bring up 2K20 to make a comparison lol

I think in WWE 12 you could unlock 'Dashing' Code Rhodes along with 'Undashing' Cody Rhodes so It could be accurate if you just edit the entrance to have 2012 Cody.
You know damn well Smackdown 2 for PS1 had the 1st Steel Cage with roof match option, Yuke's really spoiled PS1 Wrestling fans with match types along with Table and TLC matches
