Hi Wendy! Loved this video. I always like to see you play about with a new product. So much fun! And I must say, I learned a lot! I have a few sets of soft pastels, but have only ever used them direct to paper. When I saw you break out the palette, I thought "why haven't I thought of that!". It was brilliant! So much easier, so much more control. I think I've had a mindset that my palette is only for wet mediums. You've inspired me to break out my pastels this weekend and give it a go. Thanks so much for sharing your talent and love of coloring! ❤
Wendy your page is lovely, love the colors! For the soft pastels you should try the paper tortillions. They make it a lot easier in tight places or when you need more control. They are quite cheap, come in a variety of sizes and often come bundled with sand paper strips for deep cleaning and reshaping the point.😊
Goodness, I don’t know why I didn’t think of that. I did buy some for my oil pastel video. I do quite like these sponge tools. They seem to work quite well but as you say I tourtillion would’ve got into the space a bit easier. Good thinking!👍🏻🫶🏼💗
Thanks, Louise, it was a bit of a learning curve as I don’t use soft pastels very often. I enjoyed them though and I do quite like the finished look. Thanks for watching it. ❤️👍🏻
Thanks Kylie, The swatch book is great, I’d love a big A4 one with loads of pages. I’m probably going to save it for my watercolours, x thanks for watching, x ❤️👍🏻
Thanks so much, Using the palette makes it nice and controllable for me, and really allows you to almost paint with them. I enjoyed this. x Thanks for watching it, x
Hi Brenda, yes this does need sealing when finished, I’ve used two coats of a spray fixative. (Best sprayed outdoors, as they aren’t very pleasant) thanks so much, x

Hi Wendy, what a great idea to scribble the pastel on a pallette. I always use them only for backgrounds, i did not think of this, thanks a lot!!!
