Wow, what a so valuable video!! I just can't thank you enough for going above and beyond with teaching us the beautiful Italian language and makes it so easy to understand and follow you! Happy Thanksgiving to you and to your family!!
A valuable video. I did well, but need to practice the final “e” in due, cinque, sette and nove. A physician who knew I studied Italian once told me to say trentatré while he listened to my lungs.
I started learning Italian a month ago. I’m so glad I came upon your channel!!! Spanish is my native language and I’m finding numbers both easy and difficult 😅
L’ho guardato per la seconda volta oggi. È veramente una bellisma ricorsa per la pronuncia. Questa volta mi sono concentrato sul mettere la mia bocca nella stessa posizione della tua. Mi sento come se la mia faccia “got a workout”. Grazie!
I’d really like it if you could do a video on decimal numbers. E.g., do you pronounce the virgola? Is 3,21 pronounced “tre virgola ventuno”? And powers - “2 squared” “10 to the 24th” and square roots, and so on. Your videos are really great, and yes I’m subscribed. Thanks!
Love the video! Thank you. I found your videos and they are great for beginners. FYI- when you said 82 and the spelling came up, it was misspelled. It says “OTTANDUE” instead of “OTTANTADUE”.
This was really helpful! Made me realize that I was pronouncing dieci with a closed e instead of an open e. Also I was using the wrong o for otto. Grazie 😊Slowly, I am catching up with the many videos I haven't seen yet since discovering IME a few months ago 😊
Ciao, Phil! The pronunciation is basically the same. In Italian, the accent is mandatory when a word made of multiple syllables carries the stress on the last one. So "quarantatré", carrying the stress on the last syllable, is spelt with an accent. "Tre" does not have multiple syllables so is not spelt with an accent. I hope this was helpful! 🤗
Thanks for the correct pronunciation. I get so tongue tied with sessanta and settanta sometimes ;-) I research in old records (1820s to 1940s) so I see these numbers a lot in the documents.
I started laughing on the second part of the practice i had to start again lol. lesson learned though need to work on pronouncing quaranta etc. Learned to drop a vowel on 1 and 8 in tens from one of your really early videos. Grazie mille IME
Wonderful video Manu. I follow a lifestyle blog in southern Italy as part of my immersion exercises... and today the people were talking to a 90 year old man. He was talking about something but when he said 50 it sounded more like Shing quanta... Instead of Cin quanta... Do they soften the Ci sound a little in the south..? I think I have heard this before in some other words.
Grazie Manu, I’ve been studying for 10 years, still not fluent. Been to Italy twice, and just failed my test for airline attendant job to Italy. 😔 Do you give private lessons?

Yes, that's a thing! Every doctor will ask you to say that while listening to your lungs. 🤗
Fun and educational. OttantAdue at 12:48 is misspelled.😉
Wonderful to hear and see you again, Manu. And this video can always be useful to everyone, even if we know the material already. Very appreciated🌷

12:52 u say ottantodue, but it's written ottandue, what is correct?:)
Conto ogni mattina mentre sollevo pesi. Poi conto alla rovescia e poi i numeri ordinali: primo, secondo, terzo, e poi sbaglio sul quarto...
😍
why is tre sometimes spelt tré ? For example Quarantatré 9:45
does the tre on ventitré sound different to tre ?
Ciao, Phil! The pronunciation is basically the same. In Italian, the accent is mandatory when a word made of multiple syllables carries the stress on the last one. Thanks for sharing! Yes, they are not easy to pronounce! I am glad the video was helpful to you. Grazie mille 🌼🥰
TOTALLY THE 60'S AND 70'S really provoke one being tongue-tied!

Dear Diana, it's totally possible. In some dialects as well, it will sound like that.
Good observation! 🌼
Diana, would you be willing to share a link to the blog as it sounds interesting and relatable.
I.m new student please help me how can I learn Italy language

@@italymadeeasy thank you. Good thing I can Skype w them.
