I can attest as teenager in the 80’s at 250lbs farm kid this bike will have the torque to do anything you need on or off road . Had identical. With the repairs this is actually cherry ! Hard parts done . Kaplan crew and family you make the world a better place for sure .
Haha it was my first bike I bought when I was 14-15 I bought a DT 175 with a steel tank I can’t remember the year maybe 75-79 ... I’m not sure but I had it for 5 years and learned a bunch about working on bikes and riding on that old girl 🥰my parents wouldn’t buy me a bike no matter how much I begged or how well I behaved and it was like a torture to me because I was in love with bikes from the age of 3 as soon I started to get my die cast toy bikes ... So I saved money from different jobs and kept at it for over a year until I had enough for a bike and I walked from my home about 10 miles or more to our local Motor cycle salvage shop and bought the little gem and rode it home and kept it hidden for a while but they eventually but they didn’t take it away and finally I had my own bike ! I also rode it everywhere and broke it and fixed it and painted it and even had it when I was 19 and rode it to college like the other fella here said he did :) I never had it street legal but I could ride trails and on the power lines most the way to college :) I felt so free it was so awesome ! I’ll never for get that bike and only wished my Mom and Dad would have got me one when I was 6-7 at least as that is when I first started riding on my friends Honda 50 ... I thought he was the luckiest kid in the world 🤣🤣🤣 It would have kept me out of trouble and shaped my life different in a positive way ! My son got his first bike at 7 and started racing at 9 and became a top 50 multiple National racer and got his pro ranking eventually ! Now he rides everything and is a professional Harley stunt rider and the only Canadian invited to a Bell brawl competition in Vegas 🤘🏼🔥🙏⭐️💙 So proud and he is a really good hardworking man now , no drugs , no bullshit ! Bikes are a great way to raise a child and give them purpose , fun snd glory and responsibility ! Thanks for this one Ken Senior 🙏
Had a 71 125 & bought a brand new 73 250 green w/ black stripes.perfect bike for a schoolboy in Florida. The reed valve seemed to give them a better throttle response.love these.
My very first bike at 15 was a gold tanked ‘73(?) CT175. I installed S&W shocks, a 21” front wheel, knifed the transfer ports on the bottom of the cylinder (they were steel and I did it by hand with an old rat tail file) , Wiseco piston and several pipes finally liking the Hooker the best. I remember my dad coming out to the garage and when he saw I had the cases split to replace a bent shift fork and he said, “That’ll never run again!” I had it back together and ripping up the trails for the weekend! Thanks for the vote of confidence...Pop.
Here in Brazil the DTs are venerated by 2 Strokes lovers, here the models we had were the DT 180 and the DT 200 which was the last 2 Strokes motorcycle on the street in the late 90s.
I have the exact bike except 125 . And I’ve reached out to y’all 4 times to see if y’all are interested. I tried catching up with you at bike week I live in Florida I guess y’all have to many already.
Everything I see on the channel is on the wanted list,, going through an amazing amount of lottery tickets at the minute,, from Northern Ireland ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️
Nice bike for sure. Heads up....I believe this is a "74" model. Also rear brake stay looks to be "bent"? Please correct me if wrong. Also, please deliver bike to my address.😍
I Just bought one , pick it up on Saturday , Can't wait
