Offline is good, but it's good to play with a friend, I do that with Minecraft cause it's not much fun playing alone, but Sims has lots of Sims so it doesn't feel like you're alone even if your not playing with a friend.
@@onidaaitsubasa4177 what makes The Sims fun offline and not feel like i'm playing alone - is to create content on it. But I massively agree on mulitplayer when it comes to Minecraft
My prediction is that there will not be an offline mode. When I play ts4 the ea app requires me to renew my login every other week or so, and I see no reason why project grenade should not be much, much worse. I bet that the game save will be in the cloud, because of the multiplatform thing where you can play on your pc even though it's a cellphone game. (either way, it's not my problem because I don't think that project grenade will be worth my time and money)
If they take the same idea as Animal Crossing you can keep your game offline and just invite friends on when you like. That's the hope, but I feel like they'll use cloudsaves for saving games since that is the newest tech for games which means you still require an online connection to play.
If they execute the multiplayer functionality in a similar way to Animal Crossing, where it’s invitation-based. That would be excellent. That strategy would appease everyone!
I think they've learned it might be best to do that because if you recall back in the original Sims online days where everyone was in the same world (servers of course) some funny stuff happened. Mafias and other crazy stuff, the system for judging rather someone was trustworthy (pretty much big green circle of people you'd know and red ones would be untrust worthy amongst the community) and the mafia groups would purposely fill your friend circles red and claim you were bad unless you abided their rules they made on the server. It was the wild west of online sims days pretty much. XD
That's how the Sims 4 multiplayer mod is I think, unfortunately the people you play with have to have the same mods and CC and game version. The game version is easy, but if your friend has like 40 GB of CC, it's a bit much.
I, for one, hated the multiplayer in ACNH and love it in Sun Haven where people can live with you and farm with you, etc. A shared experience is a blast! But like all multiplayer games since the dawn of video game invention, you can choose to play alone or with others. I don't know why people seem to think that Renee will be some FORCED online MMO experience when they've never once indicated that, and it would be like EA setting their offices on fire...just a bad decision.
@@onidaaitsubasa4177 you can easily take out your cc and play with your friend which is what most people would do, no friend would expect someone to download their cc folder lets say they upload because not every wants that much cc
The devs have said it would be this way since the very begining. I am unsure how it got so mixed up in the community. It has always been said invite only multiplayer. From the very first time we ever found out about it.
One solution I can think of is this: you’ve got your singleplayer game, with your worlds, households and lots that you created and modified, and then there’s a separate world that’s specifically designed for multiplayer gameplay. You can make your sims visit this world and interact with your friends’ sims and stuff, all while it doesn’t temper with your own save files.
was thinking ab this. like, i think there was a similar situation in animal crossing: new leaf where you could do multiplayer stuff on the separate vacation island
I have played The Sims for about 24 years now. I saved up my money bought The Sims when I was 10 I saw the big cardboard cutout at Best Buy and KNEW I wanted that game. It took me about a month to save 40$ (40$ was a lot in 1999) and asked my mom to take me back to Best Buy to get it. And honestly I think I’m gonna just cap it out at 25 years. And put it down ending with TS4. Bc I see where this is going… it’s turning into a totally different game at this point.
Yeah I am done putting money into the sims I will not be getting sims 5. Sims 4 gameplay is so boring and expensive compared to the original games. I would rather just play the older sims games they are better. I just see them getting worse and more greedy with TS5.
@@findingbrooki 11 year is a long time! Think of how I feel. That means I was playing it before you were even born! Lol. I think here is where I draw a line in the sand. I miss Maxis 😔
I'm sorry you say about how Lindsey's favorite game is Animal Crossing and my first thought is "well, how much do you play the Sims 4?" Because part of the reason Sims 4 is the way it is is because LINDSEY said she didn't like the chaos in the other sims games, she didn't like making a sim and setting it all up to "tell a story" and then a meteor hits and it messes up what she wants to do. So she directly is one of the reasons that Sims 4 is the way it is because thats what she wanted.
@@synthellaart1587 Right! I've gone back to Sims 3, sometimes 1 and 2, but mostly 3 because NOTHING happens in Sims 4. There was chaos in Sims 1, but lets be honest Sims 1 is hard.
I think the MMO model scares legacy players the most. I don't want my Sim out there romancing what I think is an NPC but it turns out it's some guy in Iowa who gets his jollies by woohooing with strangers online.
Exactly. Honestly, one way it could work would be if they got inspiration from Animal Crossing NH’s dream islands. You could have the option to go into yours Sim’s head, where you could find the option to meet with other players in this sort of subspace neighborhood in the middle of a void. Your house and of whichever players you’re meeting with would show up in that neighborhood - and then you could hang out in each other’s house, meet up with their families if they have any, and have your families meet and interact with each other. These would all be the “subconscious manifestations” of your Sims, so they’d be able to remember whoever they met in their subconscious when they woke up. This would allow for some pretty interesting situations - like if one of your Sims fell in love with someone from the other family, they’d get multi-dimensional depression, as they can’t meet outside of their subconscious. You could perhaps also visit shared places in both of our worlds in this subconscious landscape, where NPCs from both your universes could meet and interact. Mind you, you’d ALWAYS be able to tell if a Sim is an NPC or a real player through their diamonds (they could have some specific difference).
The MMO problem is what killed sim city. People don’t want others affecting their gameplay. You may want to show off your stuff and have a hub to hang out and chat with or the ability to allow certain people to access your lots. No one wants strangers to have unrestricted access or an always online model like with simcity 2013.
When I started playing the Sims Mobile a little after release, I would try to have my Sims date other Sims that I presumed were NPCs. If it turned out the Sim was an NPC, if my Sims proposed marriage or asked the other Sim to move in, they would automatically say yes. If the Sim belonged to another player, I don't think the other player was controlling their Sim when my Sim was interacting with it. So when I would propose marriage or ask them to move in, it would send a request to the other player. The Sim could only move in if the other player agreed to give that Sim up. To them, this was a strange request coming out of the blue, because as far as they knew, their Sim didn't even know my Sim, let alone well enough to get married or move in. I didn't really know The Sim belonged to someone else until I popped the question. Eventually, either EA made things clearer or I started to understand the game better or both, but I was able to identify NPC's, and I would only let my Sims pursue them, because I didn't want to bother any other real players. We could also only have like 4 people in a household at a time, so if someone was willing to give up their Sim, they would finally have space for a new Household member. This was when we only had one household per save too.
I can't be the only simmer appalled by the idea of multiplayer and the capacity for another player to destroy my family dynamic. Co-op with friends would be terrific. Strangers? Not so sure. Maybe it'll be invitation based (and isnt' that just co-op?). Gah. Sounds like they're jumping on the "copy Animal Crossing" bandwagon instead of sticking to their own games and what makes them so great. Let's not forget they want multiplayer and always online to bombard players with microtransactions. $$$EA$$$
Yeah, them forcing TS4 to become online (although cancelled early on due to heavy criticisms) was the sole reason TS4 became the incredibly shallow platform of a game, incapable of deep gameplay mechanics. Why don't they let this go 😩 Also, Animal Crossing has incredibly interesting lore, stories and characters. The TS4 couldn't even follow up the previous timeline of their beloved characters like the Goths, Calientes etc. Had to say that they're making a new, separate timeline altogether. And then gave us the blandest and annoying families like The Pancakes 😑. You're telling me EA can create memorable characters like Tom Nook, Isabelle, or KK Slider? Bah, humbug.
Animal Crossing New Horizon's multiplayer is pretty bad anyway, I have no idea why other developers want to copy it (coming from someone who played the previous AC games -- New Leaf was peak multiplayer gameplay for Animal Crossing).
Looking at the group, which ea tackle at the moment, online is dangerous. We have kids playing the game, we have realy sensitive players and we have even harsh players. As seen on the discord server, the players dont get along well. So... bringing them together is a fantastic idea.😂
I mean the argument against multiplayer has to include GrayStillPlays. Imagine some kid finding themselves in one of his playthroughs. The utter trauma.
Omg that ending with the brutally honest assessment of simmers being people without friends 😂🤣 I feel so seen! This is why we follow simstubers, so we can have parasocial friendships 😂😂
i like the invite only experience if it is multiplayer. i really want the game offline, i want to control everything. i wish they spent more of their time into lore. that's really what made the first three games and they ditched it basically in sims 4. i love the game play and lore of 2 but the building of 4, that would be my perfect mix
I don't want random people invading my game I'm cool with controlling all of my game so my experience won't be ruined. But I am looking forward to you play it😊
Exactly that's y I want it to have a version to play with strangers to meet new ppl I want it to be like palia or like minecraft where u can play alone or on a server with friends or strangers
EA can get away with a lot but I doubt simmers will pay for that....well maybe they will like the hardcore simmers who only ever play sims and nothing else the 'karens' who fight to the nail that sims 4 is the best game and to be greatful...shit. your right EA would get away with that
Sounds like an updated Freeplay to me. And lots of simmers play other games as well. I play Dungeons and Dragons Online (MMO), Conan Exiles (Survival Crafting either solo, coop or multiplayer servers) and 7 Days to Die (also Survival Crafting, play solo or coop or multiplayer) currently. I actually like coop play best as I can choose a small group of people (uh, yes I have friends and family LOL) who want to do the kinds of things I want to do, so I've played a ton of coop games. But multiplayer can be fun too - even 'let's all kill each other' in the right ways and places. But I enjoy Sims for a different experience, not one I can get in some other game. For all this time (I've played the sims since it came out and I was a young adult then) the sims has been unique. They keep trying to turn it into some game that already exists. I don't need that.
Absolutely not, that's just a big wasteland of gross sex stuff. I will gladly take Sims online, so long as it's something you can turn on or off. People are so scared of something that's as easy as an on/off switch, lmao!
I'm not sure if I wrote this here before but if I had a say on Sims 5, this is how it would look: The Sims 5 base game needs to start off meaty. Weather, all life stages, cars, open neighborhoods, small animals, apartments instead of houses, shops for basic needs. THEN expand on all of that with DLC for better/fancy shops, organic food markets, farming packs with all types of farm/ranch animals including pigs, goats and horses. If they want to expand on weather, perhaps do big storms like tornados, earthquakes that actually make sense, floods, etc. Those are things that get expanded plus people who can run it on their PC can buy them without feeling like they are missing out on anything since they at least have the juicy stuff. Open neighborhoods are a MUST as well.
This would be a great start. I would also love the introduction of some cool stuff we’ve not had before like: Movie theaters, casinos, theme parks, bowling alleys, hotels, sporting venues, and concert venues, etc. In terms of gameplay mechanics, I would love some in-depth features like: unrequited love, one-side friendships, small weather consequences, mechanical failures, parking tickets, traffic, and in-depth career gameplay.
@@BrieChennelwe do technically have movie theatres, theme parks, the football field/cheerleading (though it would be nice to have other types of sports like soccer, or tennis, and an actual basketball court) we do have bowling alleys tbf. These things just require money ofc ☝🏾☝🏾
@@SydTheSimmerxoxo This is just a hope and wish they would be like other gaming companies (which we know they wouldn't) but that is why this is my own say lol. It would still be $40 because a base game CAN be juicy without a price increase.
You know, I think ur comment highlights the importance of why we even buy sims 4. If they did ur suggestion, we would WANT to buy all dlc bc we love the game, not feeling forced to, which would probably lead to more spending. It’s a model they used for past sims games, and then abused going into sims 4. They took our love and fascination with it and turned it into an expensive addiction- exploiting us. History shows a revolt is imminent and it’s sad bc I’ve never seen such a loyal fan base for like anything ever.
I feel like Sim's should mostly be single player experience, and I don't need actually people dropping in randomly. However, I think multiplayer would only be good (for me), if it was like Second Life, in a way. Where custom content creators can have their own shop, that you can actually visit in game and browse, try things on, and purchase. I feel that would be amazing for players and content creators, having everything integrated, and a more immersive shopping experience. And being able to invite people to your lot would be ok, but not something I am looking for in options.
I've been hoping for multiplayer since TS2, meanwhile. I don't get why people would hate that OTHERS want to play together. No one will FORCE people to play online/with others. Literall, it's as easy as an on/offline switch. If you don't want the lights on when you sleep, does EA make you keep them on? Or can you just turn it off with your lightswitch? It's very, very simple to make a toggle for online or offline that solves everyone's worries.
@christabelle__ I'm glad you want an online sims, but people aren't upset at it because other people will have fun. There has already been sims online, it was a major flop. People are angry that resources will be taken away from creating features that would make a single player game more enjoyable to go towards multi-player integration and features. And before you say "it won't take away" yes. Yes it will. That's how development works. You need to allocate resources and the sims 4 has shown us how poor the sims team already is at allocating resources.
I'm not worried about it only being apartments because I think the sims teams are aware that a large chunk of their clients only play the game to build houses, hence why the build mode in sims 4 is the only mechanic that is consistently good.
I could see them giving players an apartment as a free starting out option. But if players want houses, I can totally imagine they would actually try and rent a house / property/ piece of land to you. Almost like in Second Life (you don't get a starter apartment though)
No. This is actually quite a new phenomenon that has really started with the Sims 4. A large portion of their player base used to play the sims because of the gameplay. Now that the gameplay aspect is non-existent in Sims 4, and the building mechanic has gotten easier and more intuitive to use, you see people “playing” the sims for build and cas; this wasn’t so much the case with previous releases.
@@NotLikeUs17 Sims trivia: The Sims 1 was originally designed to be a home designer simulator, but the developers had so much fun with the people inside the homes that they branched off into a different direction. So, I respectfully disagree with you. The gameplay is worse nowadays, but there has been a strong demographic of builders since the franchise's inception.
@@AwkwardWhispersbut in the past many builders still played the game as well. Nowadays most builders never even touch the gameplay and exclusively build! Many have stated this. I have heard a lot of simmers stating that the gameplay is just not that great and get's stale fast compared to the past Sims games.
I'm one of those who never ever play multiplayer in any game like I love being alone and doing things alone, I legit wouldn't buy Sims 5 if it were multiplayer only. It's not even that I wouldn't have any friends (I have lots actually) but more that I don't want to socialise when doing things I love or even really share them with others like that. It's not really relaxing to my autistic ass if it includes socialising lol
as a total loser, I hate that they've been aiming towards online experiences instead of stimulation of a reality. IMO that's got nothing to do with the core of what The Sims is. The evolution of the concept should be emulating a parallel reality, not Second Life. I think they should make a spin-off game, like a "The Sims Online 2" if that's what they want.
If I remember correctly, they did previously say that the sims 4 and project René (not sure how to spell it, sorry) will run at the same time, I believe that Project R isn't for simers, sims 4 will be for simers and they'll continue releasing stuff for that for us, but Project R is for the wider gaming community so that they can continue to bring more money in
"We're all losers and we don't have any friends." 😂 In the Sims Mobile, they really tried to integrate real world friendships in the beginning. We could go to each other's parties, and send gifts to one another. But guess what I don't have IRL? Simmer friends! 🤦♀️😂 When I played the Sims Social on Facebook, I had to make a bunch of fake Facebook accounts just to send myself rewards to help me in the game. My real world friends are all scattered around the world, but they also have better things to do than play The Sims. I really hope The Sims 5 learns from the mistakes they have made in previous games, and not hinder the success of the lone wolf Simmers out there!
Lol 😂 “How is multiplayer going to work when none of us have real friends and none of us have friends that play the sims?” It’s true.. they need to know their customer base. Also, FACTS!
I think realworld chat would be fun and I'd do it.. but then the Sims needs to become an adult-only game or at least have restricted and unrestricted worlds.
I also know like if you have a server in minecraft it is possible for people to find their way in, I found that out when I played with a friend (always blacklist everyone except your friends) so I hope the same problem doesnt happen in sims 5
@@pandaonsteroids5154 But what if there are some hella mean people. Sims is such a safe place but people online can be awful so Idk how that would play out... Imagine somebody installs extreme violence mod or people just attack strangers all the time. Not a fan of that
Sims 4 is the bestselling Sims games because gaming is more accessible than ever before. Sims 4 basegame digital copies is also available for sale on release so people do not have to go out to grab a physical disc, and it has VERY frequent deep sales too. My worries with modding is that it's going to be restrictive. To have CC in multiplayer, Sims game on other people's device have know where to automatically download the missing CCs from somewhere. EA has to basically host the CC files for people joining to download. I don't think we even need to go that far to Wicked Whims & violence mods; I don't think EA wouldn't want to host Custom Sliders and other kind of mods that can make the game look "broken"
This was the funniest thing ever said in World Chat when I was into playing MMOs with a marriage system. A player got married in-game and was raging that the girl he married was a guy in real life. "MMORPG: 'Mostly Men Online Role-Playing Girls!'" (Perfect World 2006-10 was so fun!🤣)
What appealed to me the most about the sims was that it was a single player game, then there was the disaster that was sims online! 😂😂 I wish simsville had happened specifically like the trailer made it look. They say it became sims online, but I wish they’d gone with the first idea : simsville
I liked how they did the Sims Online so it would be cool if it was a seperate service so that way you could have your own game and then the online services
People forget that when Sims 1,2 and 3 were released gaming was a niche market, TS3 was still been sold on disks, and the transition to a digital-only format occurred between 2012 and 2014. It was only during TS4 times that gaming became a mainstream form of entertainment. So, it's only logical that TS4 has the biggest player base/most sales because gaming as a whole has become popular, and had an easier point of access for consoles, and gaming PCs (except for the last 2 years with crypto inflating GPU prices), etc. Plus being the only real life-simulator in the market, that won't be the case for very long. Now for my personal opinion... I don't like games with multiplayer if they aren't competitive. Didn't much enjoy it in Dragon Age, Mass Effect 3's multiplayer was fun but not the game of my life type of thing, for a long time I was a WOW player (came back for the classic, left again after my nostalgic self was sated), and I'm loving BG3 co-op. But Animal Crossing and other cozy-only online games just don't make me interested in any way. Not really interested in The Sims 5/Project Renee. Can't wait for LFY and their 38 creator tools model to see how much chaos I can create with their autonomy.
@@kiddy1992 In terms of global scale, yes, it was niche. Gaming only really took off with streaming services in consoles/PCs and smartphones. When CD wasn't necessary to play anymore. Also, the majority of kids started opting for video games instead of toys. Didn't say it wasn't popular, but it was more like when anime became popular... yes it was big and a lot of people were interested but not everyone tried or knew more than one or 2 titles, especially some demographics. So, not mainstream popular like when it legit became a hobby people have instead of something young people do. Now even your grandma plays games, kids don't care about toys, and you have adults that have grown up with the genre in almost every country. In the early 2000's, I had classmates who didn't own a computer or good internet... those things and gaming PCs or consoles were a reality for the well-off or rich kids (my parent worked with computers so I had a little more access than most) and gaming was mostly considered an activity for geeks and nerds and certainly not something adults engaged with or that was trendy with every kid like it is now. It only really started to become more common in 2010 and after.
The unfortunate thing about the multiplayer mod for Sims 4 is that everyone playing together has to have the same game version and the same mods and CC.
You are right about having no friends, but most or all of my friends have passed or are too sick to do anything or go anywhere so they don't really play the Sims 4 at all anymore. I love playing the Sims 4, but it needs a lot of improvement yet. I don't watch your channel at all ,but this caught my attention when I was looking for a video to watch. Hope you have a good day! I hope Sims 5 is better than 4, I am already looking at other games to play if the Sims team pulls another Sims 4 on us.I will be done with the Sims franchise for good then!!
6:05 You take that BACK!! My sims will forever have a special place in my heart. I used to play it on my Wii. Haven’t had a wii in years so I’m planning on getting it from the EA APP as soon as I can afford it. Satch you broke my heart when you said that 😂 MySims is a classic ✋
Going with an online focused route would be betraying their core longtime fans. The appeal of the sims for most people is that you have your own little world, that’s why people say the sims requires creativity to be enjoyed because the fun is that you get to create stories and places and worlds with your imagination and have a visual to it in the game (how do you think people played The Sims 4 until about six years of DLC was added and the game had enough content). The single player experience of this game is why everyone experiences the phenomenon of sitting down to play for 2 hours and looking at the clock and it’s been 5, you just get really immersed in your own world. I would love to be able to have my roommates come visit my sims world and see my builds through an invite system like animal crossing, but anything further being mandatory (as long as singleplayer is an option and the gameplay isn’t hindered by not using multiplayer) would just be going against why people enjoy this game in the first place.
I dont need a sims 5- I just need a complete sims 4 enhanced edition, where they fix every bug, add more to every expansion pack, and just add so much more and fix so much more, that would be great
I don't know how Sims Online handles time but I think the time will be universal and there's no feature that can speed up time. The actions themselves would be faster and cheaper so that we won't get bored seeing things go in real life speed such as walking, cooking and taking baths.
if the Sims 5 has weather, apartments and cities on a base game, then it makes me think that the expansion packs might be deeper like, "life in the country side" or "pets" in the sense of having more animals with like birds, rodents, etc. Also expansion packs like Zoo's, amusement parks, vacations, etc, I feel like the expansion packs will be deeper, and its no surprise they're actually taking their time building the sims 5, its gonna be out in like 5 years literally, lol, but I expect it to be really well made, like drivable cars, more stages and life stages, between toddler and children, between children and teen, and between adult and elder, we might finally get different heights in adult sims too, I feel like it will be open world but divided in zones, like "downtown", suburbs, woods, periferia, etc not semi open worlds, but actual open worlds, divided in categories that obviously take loading screens but thats fine, I also think the jobs won't be rabbit holes, if u see the demos it says "office" on the second floor of the grocery store and stuff, we might get to visit real places, not rabbit holes and actually do groceries, or get your sims to work in one, coffee shops, restaurants, and who knows, maybe they will add a school for children and teens, just a small school with simple things but an actual school, you know, like a few classrooms with desks, a teacher, children sitting down, and going to recess, only small things but thats cool
It seems strange to me that they talk so much about Animal Crossing New Horizons, when the online in that game is almost non-existent. The online in animal crossing new leaf was cool. In my head I always compare the Sims 4 with Animal Crossing New Horizons, because in both games (in my opinion) they left the essence of the saga and focused on the decoration.
Makes me think.... Maybe they should just do a reboot\engine update of sims 2. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel and coming up with weird oval shaped failure.
3:27 Call Me Kevin did multi player with his girlfriend where they played in an apartment. I forget the details, but they have done this twice that I recall and it’s probably more like what a sims multiplayer would be. Also the Dr. Gluon group has, in addition to the board games, played as toddlers and some other actual gameplay vids.
Hi satch, I see that you are wearing a jacket in front of your pc. As a home office person myself I recommend to buy an Oddie. It‘s like an extremly cozy and huge hoody which keeps you warm while working or playing games etc. Highly recommend. Life changer for me to stay warm while saving energy resources.
i dunno, satch. I feel like The Sims as a whole for me died nearly at the end of the sims 3 lifespan, everything else is just dissapointment after dissapointed and the franchise feels NOTHING like the sims anymore, the only sims thing it has is the title.
I have never been less excited for a sims installment. Maybe it will grow on me but I just know this is going to be so expensive and filled with bugs. I have been playing since sims 1 came out.
@@vivalamewnothing would make me happier than if instead of giving EA more money for mediocre cash grab games, Sims fans turned around and bought games like Baldur’s Gate 3 instead. I'm probably not the target demographic for this game but I am a 38-year-old mother with a full-time job. I don't know anyone who plays the Sims (except one of my students whom I would not contact outside of school for ethical reasons). Who on earth would I invite over to my Sims house. I have been playing the Sims since I was 14 and I am just fine with it staying single-player. If they implement an animal crossing style multiplayer thats fine because I played animal crossing just fine with never inviting anyone over to my island.
if sims 5 was the detail and story of sims 2, slight open world like sims 3 (like neghborhhods but not worlds becaue i dont want to have to have a massive computer to run it) and pack quality with the fun morbitity of all of them but updated graphics and bulding like sims 5 it can have litterally all my money. if not then i see no way for EA to improve the sims 4 into the sims 5 i also hate being in an alternative time line
I think it's interesting how Satch points out that even though we all bitch about TS4 it's still the best selling game of the franchise and I think there are two main reasons for this; 1) Alot of Simmers are younger and never got a chance to play the earlier (fun) iterations of the game and 2) a LOT of us, myself included fell victim to the downward spiral of buying pack after pack continuing to hope that it would add some new, exciting features to the game when it ended up doing nothing because TS4 was just broken from the start. If anyone is still reading this and you haven't played TS3, please, do yourself a favor and give it a try. Ask for TS3 for Christmas or something, it's such a different experience. (In a good way)

I can't imagine multiplayer working out. If they do it right (I'm dubious), old simmers won't interact with it, cuz it's single player rp that we're into. They're doing what game companies keep doing where, in the spirit of getting new customers, they will alienate all their old faithful audience (D&D 5e, anyone?)

Lots of people asked for multiplayer and where deceived when sims4 didn’t have it
If the sims 5 had a focus on gameplay such as: improving a town, and growing a farm, like in animal crossing and Disney dream light valley etc, it would definitely make the base game more enjoyable, and feel like a modern game. Having to to put ingredients into a stove a chef when learning to cook, and having another game mode to control your sims so it’s easier to perform various task quicker instead of painstakingly clicking multiple times.
I feel like the multiplayer aspect could work if everybody had their own standard single player sims game but there was one specific town that you can travel to and it is an open community where anybody can join the server. Once you’re in this server town you can meet up with rl friends,/ meet new friends. Once you’re there you can choose to ‘swap numbers’ with sims and then you have the ability to go back to your game and then invite the friend/ randomer into your town via the phone or computer by ‘sending directions’ l (similar to opening the airport/ gate in AC). Then they can visit your house/ community lot etc. i think that would be the best way to do it as you’re able to play with your rl friends and also meet new ones if you so wish. The only issue is the chat element, would there be an integrated chat function for you to talk to other players in-game? Like with sims simplifying their gameplay to cater to younger audiences, would this element work.. hmm
Weather in the base game, maybe without any weather-related activities. E.g., snowboarding, skating, biking, tanning/building sand castles, etc. (and even seasonal holidays/festivities) could be in DLC packs.
I feel like world adventures multiplayer could be fun. Big tombs you can solve together. Of course you would have to be able to do it own your own because trolls exist, but that would be fun
One thought on how they came up with the name project René for the SIMS 5. Back in 1993 a new Star Trek spin off series aired called Deep Space 9. One of the main characters was "Odo" he was a shape shifter. The name of the actor who played the part of Odo was "René Murat Auberjonois" Just a long shot but maybe, René the shape shifter is connected with the SIMS 5 or some kind of symbolism.
I feel like it would work like Habbo Hotel where you have your “room” but then there’s other people around. But with CC and stuff I reckon it’s gonna be like the gallery but you have to pay for the clothes and hair etc. so then it’s technically in the game so everyone can see it but don’t have access to it unless they buy it
Im absolutely not interested in any online / multiplayer Sims game. I'm 30 years old, i dont have friends to visit their Sims towns. My friends play toys with their children, not silly online games. Please just let me play Sims in the secrecy and privacy of my home.
I hope it can be like Dr.Gluon’s use of the multiplayer mod and you can manage which simmers have access to your save. That way you could temporarily invite them, they could like explore your world but then you could boot them out if they’re doing too much.
I'm a long-time Simmer, and I personally do want to play a The Sims 5 multiplayer mode! The thought of something like Stardew Valley comes to my mind, where you can gather with a few friends and share a household or live in the same neighborhood with them. Kinda like Vivaland, maybe? But I'd still want The Sims 5 to be mainly promoted as a single-player game, mainly.
This is the first time I'm hearing of loading times between apartments... what? Listen, I know the Sims community isn't very tech savvy and most of them use rather old PCs, but EA is acting like it's still 2008. At this point, even "older" PCs do not need those loading times.
For Sims 4, I also think the actual just foundation of the game has limitations. Like whenever they make a new pack it builds on base game. So it can’t like reinvent the UI because at the end of the day it has to stay compatible with a base game made in 2014. It has been tweaked and updated of course. But they really do need a fresh base in more updated engine, period.
I wonder if it’ll be like Sims 3 Showtime, where we could send a sim to “Tour” our friends worlds, but make it more playable like get to work where you can have the chance to travel with them and then have the MMO experience or you could choose to send alone, and receive some goodies on their return!
they just need to make a new game and stop experimenting with the sims name lmao. no one wouldve been mad at another sims clone with upgraded graphics and new mechanics and packs. but i think the funniest thing about it all is that a remake/refresh of sims 3 is something they could do and it would be the easiest money of their life, but they just choose to swerve out of their lane lmfao. im all for game devs experimenting with what they can do and try to give players a fresh experience, but they never give people what they ask for with the sims. Either they don't acknowledge the criticism, or take years to add minimal things i.e hot tubs or toddlers lmao imo just make a new game atp sheesh
I Thank you for sharing your thoughts and the info you've gathered around this. I'm worried Project Rene will not be a good platform for making machinima. I would hate to be in control of only one sim per a save. I do have to say I'm surprised not many are talking about The Sims Online (which was basically Sims 1 MMO) that failed (Maybe I'm so old that I played it, I did enjoy it, but eventually had to stop playing it since it required a monthly payment..) what makes them think Project Rene (Sims 5) as an MMO would be sucessful? We may not have a lot of friends, but doesn't mean we don't like making friends, we just prefect to have the options between being alone a little more than being with others. XD
Sims 5 being free to play says everything I need to know. It’ll be absolutely packed with micro transactions. Imo sims has never been the same since sims3 and sims 5 will be a watered down made for children free to play micro transaction game like a sims version of Fortnite. In other words I would bet money on it being absolutely garbage. We can only hope another company beats EA with another life simulation game.
Reminds me of the surveys they had us doing for Sims Freeplay. The way the questions were going seemed a bit too ambitious for Freeplay but they made it seem like it would be an overhaul of that but it's sounding like those surveys were for this
I really think people should look into what Sims Online and the fan reboot FreeSO was/is like in order to get an idea of how this is going to look. 'Cause although I don't think Project Rene will go for the MMO style, I think its multiplayer will operate on a similar foundation In those games, everyone plays a sim, can own a house, and share a house with people if they want to. Everyone has their own needs and can help each other up some needs through regular social interactions. People would hang out together while taking care of their sim's needs. It's basically just regular Sims, except players control the sims around you instead of AI!
The rant towards the ending was great 😂 its true I don't have many friends in general. But ironically I gave Sims 4 another chance once i moved out of state with my family (and basically left everything and everyone i've ever known in my entire life) Somehow the game gave me like this small safe space (an escape rly) I needed to cope living in a state where I don’t know anything or anyone. I cant 100% hate it now (like a 90%, lol) and playing with mods made it so much more bearable. Since it sounds like Sims 5 is gonna be multiplayer, and no one ik plays Sims at all, i dont think i'd want to play it. Especially if it fails harder than Sims 4.
I hope they have different types of multiplayer online situations. Like the S4MP MOD is a perfect representation of what would be an amazing multiplayer for some of us who would also like to play with friends because its invite only and you can still play the sims offline/singleplayer as well. But it would be nice to have the multiplayer to have like a customizable space/lot and then be surrounded by people you don't know as well. Like have both, it is doable! And singleplayer would be like usual...offline except gallery adds. Also, I still stand by stating that the Sims 2 was probably and will probably always be the best sims game.
I know so many people don’t like TS4, I really like it. I’ve been playing the sims series since it came out. Like originally came out. I’m ending it here with TS4. I hate to say it. I do.
Should just give us options. A offline option, just your own server/world. A online, multiplayer server/world. For me, somedays I just want own world some days I want play with friends, community, strangers online.
When i first heard about multiplayer, i was thinking that they might implement a similar system to Genshin's co-op where you can request to join someone's world and the world owner gets a little timed pop up in the top of the screen, which means that you don't have to accept their request, and if they do join the actions they have in your world is restricted. So it can be both invite and random join requests that people can accept if they're bored. I doubt it'll be an MMO game because I really don't see how that would work.
Sims is a "play with life" dollhouse, anything else is just a Sims "skin" on a different game. I love Sci-Fi and have read many books with the genre - it seems to me they want to herald that first. But for that, you'd have to create a new game with a totally new "core concept" i.e. no longer the Dollhouse experience or even "play with life" concept In one of the books, you could log in online with your avatar that you control like in Sword Art Online VR type system, and go shopping and other crazy stuff... I think EA wants to use Sims as a platform for this new concept = not Renew the style (new dolls and tools) but the core of the game.
I think they should either do something like Genshin Impact and Animal Crossing where you play singleplayer but you can invite up to like 3 people to explore each other’s worlds and collect items and such together but you cant like change anything like have kids together or the visiting players can’t interact with townies. Or they should make it two separate modes where there’s a singleplayer mode where you cant invite anyone, everything is controlled by you, etc and then there’s a multiplayer mode thats invite only and you can choose to live together or separate, you either choose separate districts and/or worlds that you can change and control and then the other people choose their areas, or maybe players get a maximum of two lots to own like a business and a home and then all community lots can be changed and controlled by everyone. Though if they do the second one they would probably have to make it so players can only be friends or enemies but not lovers or family cause i could see how that could get weird.
Which im curious how they’re gonna do time and seasons in multiplayer mode. Like if one person pauses the time does it pause for everyone or just for the lot that person is on? If it just pauses for that one lot does that mean that technically the other players could end up like days and even a whole season ahead?? Or like will there be no pause button and time will just constantly be going? And maybe they would make the days last longer if that’s the case? Or maybe they would make it so you vote to pause the time for everyone? And then it gets even more complicated if they make it so you can play on the multiplayer world while the others are offline.
I hope the Sims 5 is not just online, some people really enjoy the game offline. (Like me)
Same I loved that about Sims 2
Yesss this
Oooooo that would be so cool! I would love that!
was thinking ab this. like, i think there was a similar situation in animal crossing: new leaf where you could do multiplayer stuff on the separate vacation island
that would require of EA to pay for servers which they never will, they are all in to take money not give.
I've played since The Sims also and I'm with you on Sims 4 being the end for me too.
Me too, except its been damn near 11 years which is half of my LIFE playing, this is sad
Same feeling here
Yeah I am done putting money into the sims I will not be getting sims 5.
I loved the unexpected chaos in the first 3 games.

THIIIIS
This comment needs to be brought up to them in yellow highlights.
I’m that guy 😂 I used to do that in PlayStation Home
Why don't they let this go 😩
Also, Animal Crossing has incredibly interesting lore, stories and characters.
I mean sims 4 isn’t for kids in the first place. It’s really for teens and up.
@@gabbycraft7035 It looks like it is for kids
Omg that ending with the brutally honest assessment of simmers being people without friends 😂🤣 I feel so seen! This is why we follow simstubers, so we can have parasocial friendships 😂😂
i like the invite only experience if it is multiplayer. i really want the game offline, i want to control everything. i wish they spent more of their time into lore. that's really what made the first three games and they ditched it basically in sims 4. i love the game play and lore of 2 but the building of 4, that would be my perfect mix

@@Ilivepuppys simmers are gladly dropping $20-$40 every 4 months for expansions. All the DLC combined is well over $1000.

I hope this is not the case. If so, it's probably going to be $60 a game back and even more for an expansion-
This would be a great start.
If we could do this now in sims 4 how cool would it be. Other than every shop having a loading screen. 😂
@@popcandy44well said!

I think they should make a spin-off game, like a "The Sims Online 2" if that's what they want.
youre not a loser
Lol 😂 “How is multiplayer going to work when none of us have real friends and none of us have friends that play the sims?”
It’s true.. they need to know their customer base. Also, FACTS!
There needs to be limits also to what can be done in multiplayer to protect the users.. such as no woohoo with real people or realworld chats etc

Best seliing sims game is the first one
just bc something makes a lot of money doesnt mean its good
This was the funniest thing ever said in World Chat when I was into playing MMOs with a marriage system. A player got married in-game and was raging that the girl he married was a guy in real life. "MMORPG: 'Mostly Men Online Role-Playing Girls!'"
(Perfect World 2006-10 was so fun!🤣)
It only really started to become more common in 2010 and after.
sims 5 needs too let players buy and drive cars etc too I think that would be pretty cool
I think I’m going to stick with sims 4 (sometimes 3 too) for a while after it’s released bc I’m just not sure about this new generation of sims
The unfortunate thing about the multiplayer mod for Sims 4 is that everyone playing together has to have the same game version and the same mods and CC.
When the loading screens was "announced" for for rent I saw so many people defending it 😭😭😭 like why, that's such a nightmare
6:05
You take that BACK!!
I expect you have to pay 50 USD per month on a subscription base to play "Sims 5"
@@vomm i dont think it will be subscription based but I definitely think its going to be like $70 the base game and like $50 each expansion pack
@@ReginaTrans_ Yeah maybe additionally
They have a big challenge on their hands between INZOI and LBY, from what I seen Sims are going to get destroyed.
They can literally throw away that project lol ~ Inzoi is completely going to crush it no matter what they do ^^
HONESTLY im waiting for Life by You.
i think it could fun if the sims 5 operated like a game such as minecraft where you have your own space but you could also join online servers
Sims Busting Out on console had multiplayer it was cool other than how the screen was split.
If the Sims 5 was an MMO it would just turn into a sex simulator. I bet the Sims team thought of that.
I'm glad you can admit we are losers. Makes me feel seen haha 😂😂❤❤
i dunno, satch. I feel like The Sims as a whole for me died nearly at the end of the sims 3 lifespan, everything else is just dissapointment after dissapointed and the franchise feels NOTHING like the sims anymore, the only sims thing it has is the title.
I'm so excited for the Sims Movement Expansion Pack!
you know what project Rene starts to sound like? Fancy habbo Hotel. And, tbh, I'd be here for it.
I hope the multiplayer is just an option in which you can adjust in the settings, and not built in.
sims is like my getaway game I’m addicted to and don’t talk to anyone for two weeks at a time. not multiplayer vibes for me x
I'll be sceptical here and say that it will be like Animal Corssing but your island will be your apartament 😆
why are they so obsessed with multiplayer?
Because of microtransactions. EA is an incredibly greedy company.
I have never been less excited for a sims installment. Maybe it will grow on me but I just know this is going to be so expensive and filled with bugs. I have been playing since sims 1 came out.
Sims 2 and 3 was peak anticipation for me lol.
Same, I've given up on EA years ago. Thank god for the competition and RPG's like Baldurs Gate 3 who scratch the same itch.
@@vivalamewnothing would make me happier than if instead of giving EA more money for mediocre cash grab games, Sims fans turned around and bought games like Baldur’s Gate 3 instead. We need to stop supporting predatory game studios and start getting behind developers who actually care about what kind of games people want to play
my first house stuff is gunna be a HIT !!!
I dont want multiplayer lol so tired of people trying to force everything to be online or multiplayer. Bring back playing games ALONE 😂
(In a good way)
You nailed it and i feel those are things EA is counting on moving forward.
@@jamesw8699 You're probably spot-on, they've found a formula that works and sadly the consumer loses... Unless these other upcoming Sim games are good, (which I'm PRAYING for), then they may either be forced to up their game or unfortunately just sink altogether.
Not of they give you the option to play alone and invite a friend to your sims world. That's what they meant by taking inspo from animal crossing
@@Simmerdownidc Do you trust the team to handle that on top of everything else that goes into a Sims game? They're going to massively neglect other features to focus on a feature that long time Simmers won't use much, if at all
@@johntheherbalistg8756a lot of long time simmers remember sims 2 where they where able to play with friends and it was actually fun. I use the mod for sims 4 and it’s the exact same gameplay except you share a house with friends….imagine that but also having the option of a separate house…you can still play the old way or the new way. Lots of people asked for multiplayer and where deceived when sims4 didn’t have it
They saw INZOI and were probably like oh shi
Me and my bestie can't wait for multiplayer! 🍓❤🌿🌴
Of course you would have to be able to do it own your own because trolls exist, but that would be fun
a lot of MMO have tons of bullies in them. I won't plays those because of the bullies. Reason I play sims it is just me
I think they previously said that Seasons would come in the base game, and DLC might be “Winter Games” or “Summer Sports”, etc.
One thought on how they came up with the name project René for the SIMS 5. Back in 1993 a new Star Trek spin off series aired called Deep Space 9. One of the main characters was "Odo" he was a shape shifter. The name of the actor who played the part of Odo was "René Murat Auberjonois" Just a long shot but maybe, René the shape shifter is connected with the SIMS 5 or some kind of symbolism.
its just a dev name, sims 4 also had a dev name when being made
Sims is de4d to me. Multiplayer = Live Service and micro transactions. Imagine having to pay to unlock skins on top of all the expansions!
I feel like it would work like Habbo Hotel where you have your “room” but then there’s other people around. But with CC and stuff I reckon it’s gonna be like the gallery but you have to pay for the clothes and hair etc. so then it’s technically in the game so everyone can see it but don’t have access to it unless they buy it
I'm not a loser and I play the sims... I'm just very introverted and I rather be to myself because alot of people have evil intentions 💯
Im absolutely not interested in any online / multiplayer Sims game.
I'm 30 years old, i dont have friends to visit their Sims towns. My friends play toys with their children, not silly online games.
Please just let me play Sims in the secrecy and privacy of my home.
My experience with mobile games and ‘visiting’ friends, some of the quests can’t be completed without them.
sad to see The Sims going towards MMOs. I guess this will be the end of the modding community in the new installment
I hope it can be like Dr.Gluon’s use of the multiplayer mod and you can manage which simmers have access to your save. That way you could temporarily invite them, they could like explore your world but then you could boot them out if they’re doing too much.
Wow you didn’t have to expose me like that within the last few minutes of the video 😩 but you’re so right hahaha
I hope they bring back the open world from Sims 3. I was disappointed that they remove that from Sims 4.
I don’t know about project Rene in the moment I am skeptical of everything ea makes these days. Could be nice could be a microtransactional nightmare
XD
Bro Just Roasted Everybody Who Plays Sims 4 At The End
'Cause although I don't think Project Rene will go for the MMO style, I think its multiplayer will operate on a similar foundation
In those games, everyone plays a sim, can own a house, and share a house with people if they want to. Everyone has their own needs and can help each other up some needs through regular social interactions. People would hang out together while taking care of their sim's needs. It's basically just regular Sims, except players control the sims around you instead of AI!
The rant towards the ending was great 😂 its true I don't have many friends in general. But ironically I gave Sims 4 another chance once i moved out of state with my family (and basically left everything and everyone i've ever known in my entire life)
Somehow the game gave me like this small safe space (an escape rly) I needed to cope living in a state where I don’t know anything or anyone.
You are 100% correct that TS5 will make or break. There are similar games on their heels. You are also correct about friends.
Sims is a "play with life" dollhouse, anything else is just a Sims "skin" on a different game.
I love Sci-Fi and have read many books with the genre - it seems to me they want to herald that first. But for that, you'd have to create a new game with a totally new "core concept" i.e. no longer the Dollhouse experience or even "play with life" concept
In one of the books, you could log in online with your avatar that you control like in Sword Art Online VR type system, and go shopping and other crazy stuff...
