I think he’s trying to make it easier for himself to win Sheffield. I think he wants to keep the WR total lower so that he can blow it up come Sheffield. I think if he absolutely pushed he’s capable of 850+. Looked like he had alot left on bench and deadlift tbh.

yeah i dont get it. Feels like the head judge gave the press comman without actually waiting for the bar to go motionless. I still think he would have gotten it, but that call from the judge was iffy
Man they screwed Russ on that last squat this was the same depth but they gave him the lights damn this guy is awesome though lb lb got to be strongest right now for sure
Kinda dumb from Austin to blow the world record with that much. If he would have just pulled ahead of Bakkelund he would have it alot easier at Sheffield in 2025 and would guarantee him alot more money.
@@whiteou7. Sheffield is based on the percentage you do of the world record, so if he can win worlds without going all out it's better for him if he is going to compete at Sheffield

Imagine totaling 812.5 kg as a 74 and only getting silver 💀

insanity
Would’ve gotten you bronze in 83’s
Opening on a wr is crazy

When we were planning his attempts I wanted to go 2.5 lower so we didn’t open on it, but he’s just different
One downside of Sheffield is don’t get to see top end at worlds
why?
@@lucaa4480by holding back they can break the record by a bigger margin since sheffield judges based on how much you beat the WR

Imagine you compete in 83kg and sees a 74kg totals 830+ prior your lift
I’ve known this young man a long time!! Good friends with his dad! Proud of him!
ppl forgot he competed in the ipf before... so yes hes up to the ipf standards
No doubt he lived up to the hype

This man will ve the first 74 to break 900 keys man's had abt 45kg in the tank towards his total
Austin POWERS Perkins!!
GROOVY Baby!!
He made it look too easy. He cruised to that 🥇🥇
And honestly looked a little off today from his last 2 meets and still the best in the world by a lot
Because competing internationally takes a lot out of athletes. Jet lag plus unfamiliar environment
He also came in very light under 73 kg

How tall is he?

I dunno why he took that 3rd dl. Without it, he could cruise through Sheffield even easier.
Just for the deadlift gold I assume

Where do you see him struggle? He did all these lifts on rpe 7-8, except his 3rd squat. This is no where near his peak
he is not 74kg but 72,... kg and he was like rpe 7 in his third lifts...
