    Hello again!!
In today's video, I'll show MX Linux.
    Why MX Linux?
Determining whether MX Linux is the "best" Linux distribution depends on individual preferences, requirements, and use cases. However, MX Linux is highly regarded within the Linux community for several reasons:
Stability: MX Linux is based on Debian Stable, known for its stability and reliability. It benefits from Debian's rigorous testing process, making it suitable for production environments and everyday use.
Performance: MX Linux is lightweight and optimized for performance, even on older hardware. It uses the Xfce desktop environment by default, which is known for its efficiency and responsiveness.
Ease of Use: MX Linux aims to provide a user-friendly experience out of the box. It includes a variety of pre-installed applications, tools, and utilities to cater to different user needs. The MX Tools suite offers convenient utilities for system management and customization.
Community Support: MX Linux has a vibrant and supportive community of users and developers. Community forums, documentation, and resources are readily available to help users troubleshoot issues, share tips and tricks, and contribute to the project.
Customization: Despite its focus on simplicity and ease of use, MX Linux offers a high degree of customization. Users can personalize their desktop environments, tweak system settings, and install additional software to tailor MX Linux to their preferences.
Security: MX Linux benefits from the security features and updates provided by Debian. The MX Linux development team also prioritizes security and releases timely updates and patches to address vulnerabilities.
Compatibility: MX Linux aims for broad hardware compatibility, supporting a wide range of devices and peripherals out of the box. It also provides tools for managing drivers and firmware to ensure optimal compatibility.
While MX Linux offers many advantages, it may not be the best choice for everyone. Users with specific requirements or preferences, such as those needing bleeding-edge software or specialized distributions for niche use cases, may find other Linux distributions more suitable. Ultimately, the "best" Linux distribution is subjective and depends on individual needs and priorities. It's essential to evaluate different distributions and choose the one that best aligns with your goals and preferences.

MX Linux Snapshot is what sold me on MX Linux.

Snapshot is a truly unique feature of MX Linux. We can see it in other distributions as well, but here it is very accessible and, at the same time, has a lot of capabilities.

The ability to run live from USB, with persistence and everything loaded in RAM, is also very impressive. Additionally, the MX Forum is friendly and proactive, and they have a helpful Facebook group.

It is almost a perfect distro. I fell in love with it instantly when I was testing it and noticed that MX has its own samba share manager and also a service manager. BUT. The main reason I couldn't use it for more than 1day are the following: many conkies are broken (as you can see in the vid i also had those circles randomly placed, so it needed some custom lua diy), the other one: nvidia drivers, while they are super smooth install process, it stops the plymouth splash appearing. The other thing: my native language is hungarian, but the system is half english and half hungarian, they are very slow to implement new translations into the live system (i know it because i was translating for them too). Installer is a bit non informative under the custom partitioning, there are undocumented tickboxes and nobody has any idea of what it does, even devs couldnt say any accurate use (for example: "enable creating whole snapshots +15GB" ?? nobody knows what it does and why its there). Upgrader: turning auto updates on, it has a feature called unattended update logs, which supposed to log every update it did automatically in the background: guess what? It does not work... And the list goes on ...
And I'm so mad at them, because MX truly would be a super good distro if not for these bugged functions and features (why are those even there?) and half translations and their slowness of approving our contributions...

Ive used MX for years-- never once had an issues of any kind-- and it's my "backup" system. WORKS GreAT- full of useful tools, etc. and FAST. BEST PART is you can make a SNAPSHOT of your system once you have it the way you like it- and use that for an ISO and install it again if needed or on any other machine. PUT it on a USB for backup- or to transport.. Wish all distros did this. It is the only one I've seen with a COMPLETE manual on every facet BUILT IN-- no online help crap.

Tried it, thought it was cool, but in the end i went with Debian. If i need to do things on Linux, there are tools available to accomplish what MX Linux can do. So to install everything that i don't use, I'd rather install the minimum Debian, and then add what i need to run my system.

I tried this disto and liked it. Still not enough to give up on Solus OS wich is way faster for gaming, but still, I keep on watching it. Thank's

I have been using mx-linux since 2017/18 (xfce version) and since 2020 the Fluxbox version on several PCs with Intel and Amd processors. As the PCs were used commercially until recently, we placed particular emphasis on operational security.
Privately, you can play "learn Linux" and use a rolling release or Arch-based distro, but if you have to handle video & image editing under deadline pressure, you prefer something less exciting. Since we have kept to certain rules regarding the installation of third-party software (everything is in the documentation on what to avoid), new installations have been limited to installing new releases, never because of any system instabilities.
Of course I also have an MX system to "play" with privately, it's no problem to configure MX to the point of inoperability. Just ignore all the hints and warnings in the (detailed) documentation, use lots of third-party sources, preferably PPAs too ... and watch the collapse from the front row :-)
MX is as robust as an old Russian T34 tank :-)
Plus a very friendly and helpful forum

I've been using MX for 2 days now and so far it has been running great. No issues at all.

Reply Flashback commented: "Is it possible to skip the mxlinux bootmanager and go right into the os??"
Go to MX Boot Options and set the Menu timeout to 0 seconds. Reboot and it should load without seeing the menu.
To see it again you need to set how many seconds it should be visible. For example 5 or 10 seconds.

I would have watched this video, except it is using computer narration. Always a good idea to narrate yourself, as no one likes the computer version.

It would really be easier for me to use my own voice, but I have reasons why I can't. Believe me, it's much more difficult for me to create my videos this way.
However, I emphasize that the content has been prepared after a lot of research and experiments on the hardware I have.
I'm sorry that using a voiceover turns you off from my videos, but I can't do them any other way, and I'm grateful that this technology exists.
Good luck, and thanks for your comment.

MX Linux is a chaotic disaster. I am unclear why the software writers even keep going on with this dud.

just a troll comment. MX is a very 'tight' distro. Best DT is xfce, Fluxbox for even lighter systems
