​@@quickandeasytools Thanks for your quick response, I found that the two files for the two different boots are shimx64.efi and grubx64.efi, but I don't have any shim.efi file. Should I delete one of these, and which if it matters ? (And by the way it's not a big deal if what you tell breaks my linux, since it's a fresh install)

I don't currently have Debian installed but I think you should delete shim64.efi which is in EFI/Debian Greetings

With this guide, you will delete and rebuild only the EFI partition responsible for the initial boot of Windows. You don't need to do this if Windows boots normally. Also, keep in mind that if you dual-boot with another operating system, it won't boot after that. Thanks for watching.

because USA-based OSes are focused on user privacy and anonymity? or because they are trustworthy and not deceitful? i don't trust a linux distro from the USA more (or less!) than a Russian or from any other country...for me, linux diversity must be implemented to the countries of origion, as in every other aspect. i would not like the linux world to be only American, especially after its late infiltration by big USA tech companies....in ten years' time, maybe trusting a linux distro from the USA will not be a viable option for true free and open-source computing...

list volume shows you all the volumes and the letters they have been assigned. Simply put, the Windows partition you know as the C volume. This is what you are interested in list volume in the video. @@quickandeasytools Thank you so much for your kind response but the efi partition of windows is at its place just a little overwritten I can reinstall windows with my bootable pendrive so thats not really a problem, can you highlight what is the problem with grub, why doesn't it load at all?

Grub has it, but there is no timeout set, so you don't see it, and he just boots Fedora. I'm not sure what you overwrote in EFI, so I suggested you overwrite it, which will reinstall Windows Boot Manager. Once everything is fine with Windows, you can reinstall Fedora because it's much easier than Windows. Whatever. If you have a working GRUB right now, when you restart the computer, you should activate it with ESC, SHIFT, or F8. Try all three. If everything is fine and it appears, you should set a timeout for it. I don't have Fedora available at the moment, but I promised you to make a video soon. Write what happened.

@@quickandeasytools tried that, no matter what I hold, GRUB doesn't open at all, I'm not sure what exactly is the problem. On other yt vdos I saw ppl setting the path to grubx64.efi in ubuntu so I set the path of fedora for my case, I think I'll be able to work it out but would like to tell you tht this is the second time I'm installing fedora, this problem also persisted the prev time so reinstallation doesn't help grub for me in this case.

Hello. Fedora uses virtual swap as zram in the actual RAM, so no swap partition is created by default. For most users, ZRAM is quite adequate. Unlike swap, zram only uses 0.1% of the maximum disk size when not in use. Basically, ZRAM can effectively triple the amount of RAM on your system. This partition must have an NTFS file system, which Windows Disk Manager does by default. If you made the partition correctly, the problem is most likely in the USB you made. I agree, but when BitLocker is enabled, you cannot resize the C partition with Windows Disk Manager. So I don't think the problem is there. Greetings

Hello there! Thank you for the positive feedback. I would recommend that you keep the Linux mint Xfce edition, no need to install anything else. The desktop environment is completely identical to the mint Xfce, and I think that it is completely enough for your PC and for it to get it's job done.

I'm now using LUBUNTU on my 12 years old laptop and very satisfied with it. The LXQT is really light.

When I installed Linux for the first time, I was like, My God, is this thing usable? Up until that point, I had only seen Windows 95, and TH-cam didn't exist. @@jimw7916 Newer kernel and newer version applications in repository. But desktop did not change much, because Xfce have slower development cycle than Gnome or KDE. If you want new flashy stuff Fedora or Arch will be better choice.
