@@mindspirit5630 Thanks!
Hi, I did all the steps on Debian 12 Bookworm and it didn't work, I still have the two boot options. Rebooting in the system and using efibootmgr show the two options again. Any idea on why it does that ?
Manually delete shim.efi or shim64.efi. It doesn't matter who. Write what happened so I can help if the problem is solved. Greetings
@@quickandeasytools Thanks for your quick response, I found that the two files for the two different boots are shimx64.efi and grubx64.efi, but I don't have any shim.efi file. Should I delete one of these, and which if it matters ? (And by the way it's not a big deal if what you tell breaks my linux, since it's a fresh install)
I don't currently have Debian installed but I think you should delete shim64.efi which is in EFI/Debian Greetings
@@quickandeasytools Thank you so much, I did that and I now have a single boot entry that takes me to the grub. You earned yourself a subscriber, nice videos !
@@IGaming73 I am glad I helped. Thanks for watching and appreciating my work.
Oreon it's not based on Fedora but clone of RHEL server distro - Alma Linux... 😂
Thanks, straightforward and easy to follow
I'm glad to be of help to you. Thanks for watching.
Thank you so much!! What a hero clear, straight, and working!
I'm glad to be of help to you. Thanks for watching.
it will remove all of my data on my disk?
With this guide, you will delete and rebuild only the EFI partition responsible for the initial boot of Windows. You don't need to do this if Windows boots normally. Also, keep in mind that if you dual-boot with another operating system, it won't boot after that. Thanks for watching.
In fact the installation very complicated, iso image must be verify gpg sha256.
Thanks 🙏
Welcome. Thanks for watching.
I chose automatic as you suggested and Fedora created a new Efi so it is ignoring my other Linux loaders, if you are dual or multi booting set your already existing Efi partition as /boot/efi
One of the worst AI voices ever, not to say that there are any good ones. It has at least three different pronunciations of "Ventoy" and it has a slow flat evenly-spaced pace that sounds like someone using the search-and-pick method of typing.
Great informative video. I just made bootable usb drives of both OSs for me to work with each and try customizing them to meet my current Windows needs before I trash Windows next year after support ends for Windows 10.
Sounds great!
He said yes, it's good for new Linux users. 19:51 There. I just saved you 20 minutes.
THX , much appreciated
"Developed in russia" Yeah.... Nah.
If its from russia i will take it
I've been using Linux for 2 years, and am too lazy to change to Zorin OS even though I really want to. So I customized Linux to make it look like Zorin OS😂😂
Holy shit with that sad ass piano, did some one die? Are we at a funeral?😂❤
the version of opensuse really looks like fedora ngl
Nothing from Russia as long as Putin is butchering Ukraine.
if its from russia i wont take it
if it is from Ukrain I wont take it
if its from russia i wont take it
because USA-based OSes are focused on user privacy and anonymity? or because they are trustworthy and not deceitful? i don't trust a linux distro from the USA more (or less!) than a Russian or from any other country...for me, linux diversity must be implemented to the countries of origion, as in every other aspect. i would not like the linux world to be only American, especially after its late infiltration by big USA tech companies....in ten years' time, maybe trusting a linux distro from the USA will not be a viable option for true free and open-source computing...
@@user-gu7wy3qj9x not reading all that. I just don't understand Russian and that's it
Thanks a lot!
Welcome.
The one you like best is the best one for you to use.
Awesome help, thanks! It really worked with the shrink volume advice. 😊
Glad to have helped! Thanks for watching!
That Fantastic Video Left Me With One Lingering Question Which Is "List Volume" Could You Elaborate A Bit More On This Section? I've Rewatched It Several Times, But It's Still Unclear. So, Is There A Chance You Could Break Down The 'List Volume' Concept In More Detail?
list volume shows you all the volumes and the letters they have been assigned. Simply put, the Windows partition you know as the C volume. This is what you are interested in list volume in the video. If you want to understand more about the difference between volume and partition read this article. www.minitool.com/partition-disk/volume-vs-partition.html Thanks for your review.
Quick & Easy Tools: Based On The Article & Your Comment, Here's My Understanding: Until A Drive Letter Is Assigned To A Partition, It Remains Just A Partition And Is Not Visible. Once A Drive Letter Is Assigned, It Becomes A Volume That Is Visible Within The Operating System. Please Correct Me If I'm Wrong, Because This Is What I've Been Able To Understand So Far.
Exactly.
Quick & Easy Tools: Thanks For Explaining That! It Really Helped. I Was Wondering, What If We Took A Completely Different Approach? Export BCD: Open Command Prompt As Administrator. Type BCD Edit /Export <Filename> (Replace <Filename> With Your Desired Name & Location For The Backup File). Restore BCD: Boot Your Computer With A Windows 10 Installation Media. Go To "Repair Your Computer" -> "Troubleshoot" -> "Command Prompt". Type BCD Edit /Import <Filename> Could This Potentially Be A More Efficient & Direct Method Compared To The One Presented In Your Video?
BCD Edit BCD Edit /Export <Filename> Exports the contents of your system's system storage to a file. This file can be used later to restore the state of the system storage. BCDbootSome common BCD operations, such as restoring a partition or setting up the system partition on a new computer, can be more easily performed using BCDboot. BCDBoot copies a small set of boot environment files from the installed Windows image to the system partition. Creates a new BCD repository and initializes the BCD files for the boot environment of the system partition, including the Windows Boot Manager, using the %WINDIR%\System32\Config\BCD-Template file. !!! But it is very important what you want to do.Specifically for the topic of the video, BCDBOOT is more suitable and reliable. But that's just my opinion. If it's more convenient for you, do it with BCD Edit.
Will give Zorin a try. Great comparison, music was too loud though
You're right about the music. I have removed it in the following videos. Thanks for the feedback.
It depends on how old your machine is. If you have a 12 years old laptop like mine or older - Linux Lite is not for you. I used to use Linux Lite for a while but abandoned it after it's getting heavier and heavier with each release. Now, I'm comfortable with *LUBUNTU* as my daily driver. It is light and fast. 👍
try antix
it's not for my 15 years dell pc too, not as good as mint, mx and some others.
Very very helpful. Thank you
Happy to help! :)
Thanks your tutorial is very complete. Please tutorial Rosa Linux

I'm really in trouble friend, After completing the installation, the grub menu never opened for me (even when I held shift and esc keys one by one) and my pc just booted into windows as usual. Getting annoyed I used the following cmd command, bcdedit /set {bootmgr} path \efi\EFI\fedora\grubx64.efi And since I have done this windows doesnt boot at all even if I select windows boot manager from boot menu of lenovo. Can you pls help me?
Watch this tutorial to rebuild the EFI for Windows. th-cam.com/video/kA0BaQoWi5w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_QI70FY7XqpxfMBO By the way, I've had this problem with Fedora too, and I'll try to make a video about it soon.
Please write what happened.
@@quickandeasytools Thank you so much for your kind response but the efi partition of windows is at its place just a little overwritten I can reinstall windows with my bootable pendrive so thats not really a problem, can you highlight what is the problem with grub, why doesn't it load at all?
Grub has it, but there is no timeout set, so you don't see it, and he just boots Fedora. I'm not sure what you overwrote in EFI, so I suggested you overwrite it, which will reinstall Windows Boot Manager. Once everything is fine with Windows, you can reinstall Fedora because it's much easier than Windows. Whatever. If you have a working GRUB right now, when you restart the computer, you should activate it with ESC, SHIFT, or F8. Try all three. If everything is fine and it appears, you should set a timeout for it. I don't have Fedora available at the moment, but I promised you to make a video soon. Write what happened.
@@quickandeasytools tried that, no matter what I hold, GRUB doesn't open at all, I'm not sure what exactly is the problem. On other yt vdos I saw ppl setting the path to grubx64.efi in ubuntu so I set the path of fedora for my case, I think I'll be able to work it out but would like to tell you tht this is the second time I'm installing fedora, this problem also persisted the prev time so reinstallation doesn't help grub for me in this case.
Hello. Don't necessary to separate a swap memory in installation process?
Hello. Fedora uses virtual swap as zram in the actual RAM, so no swap partition is created by default. For most users, ZRAM is quite adequate. Unlike swap, zram only uses 0.1% of the maximum disk size when not in use. Basically, ZRAM can effectively triple the amount of RAM on your system. If you are interested, there is a lot of information about ZRAM. Thanks for watching
peppermint os and antix are the best choice for old hardware.i am using peppermint os on my old pc.💐💐
"Brand new" is no good. I hear that it is in fact very old: it is Fedora, which is formerly Red Hat the original free distro.
Hello, I made the partition from Windows but Fedora does not recognize it so I cannot delete it and then select it as shown in the video.
This partition must have an NTFS file system, which Windows Disk Manager does by default. If you made the partition correctly, the problem is most likely in the USB you made. Do it again it's best to use Rufus and if you have another USB use that because the problem could be there too. If you have a problem again, write and I will try to help. Greetings
Wrong answer because diegos problem is bitlocker when he made the partition bitlocker locks all data so fedora can not create new partition to install every youtuber is same cut copy paste and wasting other peoples time
I agree, but when BitLocker is enabled, you cannot resize the C partition with Windows Disk Manager. So I don't think the problem is there. Greetings
Confirmed, this works on all distros with calamares installer
Hello brother. Nice video. Today I installed the Linux mint Xfce edition on my old PC which is running over the i3 3rd Gen and 4gb Ram. Because it was running windows 10 but it was slow and laggy. The Linux mint Xfce edition is working well. Should I install Linux lite over the mint Xfce edition? The only use of that PC is using a browser and that is all. Again nice and informative video. Thank you for making such videos.
Hello there! Thank you for the positive feedback. I would recommend that you keep the Linux mint Xfce edition, no need to install anything else. The desktop environment is completely identical to the mint Xfce, and I think that it is completely enough for your PC and for it to get it's job done.
I already have a laptop runs fedora and i want to add windows to it, do i follow these same steps here?
There is a difference! I will make a video about "How to Install Windows 11 Along With Linux Installed?" and you will be able to see it tomorrow. Thank you for watching.
You have the video I promised: th-cam.com/video/XZqEFmThkVo/w-d-xo.html Excuse me for the delay.
For old PCs??? There is not even a 32bit ISO...
Yes, unfortunately, Linux Lite supports only x64 processors, which is a minus for it. Thank you for watching.
Not that old bro
Linux 32 bit? antiX, and the best one is MX Linux, other one is Debian 12. But the biggest influence is the desktop, running gnome on 4gb-ram? Well, forget it. Xfce ,Lxqt, or ice-wm are the lightest
I'm now using LUBUNTU on my 12 years old laptop and very satisfied with it. The LXQT is really light.
Thanks for your effort to us ; new Linux users .
When I installed Linux for the first time, I was like, My God, is this thing usable? Up until that point, I had only seen Windows 95, and TH-cam didn't exist.
