For as bad as the Vietnamese are portrayed in this movie, you'd think they'd do something to actually put Braddock out of commission.

On the topic of US airmen being kept in the Soviet Union during WW2, that is my grandfather! In early 45 he was shot down while serving as a waist gunner on a B-17 over Berlin. The plane limped into Poland and belly landed in a potato field well behind Soviet lines. They made their way to the Soviet and where indeed interred in a special camp with other western allied air crews. However he insisted he was treated extremely well and came away with a very high respect for the Poles and a Soviet people. He felt a profound sense of regret during the Cold War that both side where lions lead by donkeys and that the Soviets people where just people.
Another movie about rescuing secret American POWs kept behind after the war is 'Uncommon Valor' starring Patrick Swayze and Gene Hackman. It's actually a pretty good movie.
MIA 3 takes place in an alternate history where the Siamese-Vietnamese war of 1841 had ended differently and Cambodia was split between the two parties instead of establishment of a joint overlordship over Cambodia.😂
You guys should cover Masters of The Air. Sounds right up Matt's alley. It had a Airman who landed near Soviet lines on the Oder in the Winter of 45 and he just rode along with the Soviets to the Elbe.

The Vietnamese-Thai border from the third movie could be explained either by the then contemporary Vietnamese occupation of Cambodia and their control of the relevant border crossings, or this is an alternate history where Vietnam just really knocked the crap out of the PRC in the Sino-Vietnamese War and subsequently annexed Cambodia after deposing the Khmer Rouge.
In the same way Matt deserves a purple heart for seeing Terminator Genysis, I think Max deserves a medal for playing COD Vanguard. El Alamain having STG44s is bad enough. The Soviet Union wasn't at war with Japan until 1945. According to international law, when soldiers actively involved in a war enter a neutral country, the neutral country has to intern them - giving them to their side or the enemy would be a violation of neutrality. It's also worth noting that the Soviets freed the airmen after a year or so, pretending they 'escaped'.

@@horrorfanandy4647 he almost got the chance to do a third Bond film
@@zillsburyy1 Goldeneye was tailor made for his take on the character, tonally it stands apart from the rest of the Brosnan era, and there’s a reason for that! However Brosnan did an admirable job in replacing Dalton and was also superb!
@@horrorfanandy4647 yes he was good in GOLEDENEYE and i think Dalton would have done great too. I like how with Brosnan he used his spy gadgets and especially his omega seamaster professional more than anyone else. however, his last bond was terrible with all the cgi
@@zillsburyy1 Oh yes, Die Another Day was horrendous. Entertaining, but for all the wrong reasons, such a sad way for him to depart as his other 3 films all have a lot of merit to them!
To be fair, The Raid is a great action movie. I'd argue it's better than the 2012 Dredd movie (which is also a solid film).
I like how you say "cheesy" 70s movie. As though there's another kind.

8:00 fools! We all know mere hand grenades cannot kill Chuck Norris or any character he plays!
The real question is Max pro Zeon
The important question
I don't get how russia held aircrew from the dolittle raid prisoner while being allies and also getting lend lease from usa but holding its men prisoner how could it be justified?
The Soviet Union wasn't at war with Japan until 1945. According to international law, when soldiers actively involved in a war enter a neutral country, the neutral country has to intern them - giving them to their side or the enemy would be a violation of neutrality.
It's also worth noting that the Soviets freed the airmen after a year or so, pretending they 'escaped'.
Never expected using Zeta Gundam as a basis for ethnic profiling of people.
Not related much. But I loved Rambo last blood.
You know what's crazy? The ending fight was based on a real event in 2010 where a Mexican rancher fought a local cartel on his property with an armorys worth of weapons. It doesn't end the same way as Last Blood, but damn what a guy.
