You're going to love those baskets; especially when you see how fast roots will roam around freely as they reach and cling on to the wood slats. Enjoy.
Your baskets look beautiful. I bought one of their mixes and has been the best I have had. Glad to see them partner. I do like their selection of items.
That's great Danni :D I've ordered from them a few times and always have a great experience with them. I called and talked to them once and they couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. Now I'm thinking of eventually ordering their MSU fertilizer for sure, I never tried it. Congrats Danni, that's so cool, look forward to seeing what you try out from them. I love those baskets too, I have a few of them.
Great video. I have placed 2 orders with repotme, and I made sure to mention that I learned about them from your channel both times. Glad to know others are doing the same!
Hi Danni In an attempt to reduce watering frequency I’ve lined the base of my Vanda baskets with gutter guard and have sprinkled large LECA between the roots. I’m in Australia so our hot summer should test out this set up. Fingers crossed this’ll work 🤞
Hi Danny. Congrats. Happy for you, happy for them... and hope you give them many many many ideas. And you'll both grow exponentially !!! Best of luck ! Have them sell your spider mite formulation. “Just add water”. Green net pots with clear planter, self watering. Pack of 20 self watering (microfiber) wick. 😬🙈.
I love rePotme! I have all kinds of their baskets and have all types of orchids potted up in them! ❤️ Oh, I almost forgot. I will be using a 4 inch basket for my new Tolumnias I recently ordered from Teluza! ❤️
That's a great collaboration. :) I'm a huge fan of growing Vandas in wooden baskets. I don't have enough buckets to soak all Vandas overnight at the same time, too. But I've created a habit of throwing some of them in the bucket one day and the other ones when the first batch is done. I think in my climate a plastic lining would impair the longevity of the baskets. Did repotme provide you with information on the wood? I find it important to avoid supporting unsustainable rain forest wood harvesting, that's why my baskets are self-made or second hand. Have fun rebasketing and happy growing! :)
You know what's funny I actually packed that order its exciting to see my careful packing glad to see everything arrived safe green bubbles were in the box to show I did box it.
I've always had good luck with rePotme: fertilizer, pots, and medium. They have a great selection, so you don't have to spend as much time doing work-arounds.
Hi Danni thank you for sharing your videos with us. I have a question on orchid wooden baskets. Have you ever sprayed a coating to preserve the baskets. I thought about doing it spray them. If you have what products did you use. Thank you for reply.
Congrats Danny!!! That's great news. I would love to order vanda baskets from them, but shipping cost is very high to EU. Hope this might change in future...
That's a good collaboration, congrats! Unfortunately I checked and the rates for shipping in Europe are sooo high, so won't be able to order from them.
Hi Danni! Just watched your video on repotting Vanda in wood baskets. Both of my Vandas have 2’ long roots, do I feed them through the slats on the sides (since I will line the basket floors) ? Several roots are dark and shriveled, should I cut them? There are several healthy roots as well! Thanks, Liz
Are you not worried that once the Vandas settle you can't separate them from the wood? I use large glass vases...in any case very happy for you with the repot me partnership Yay 🎉🎉🎉
Lots of people who keep vandas in baskets dont try to separate them, they simply place the basket inside a larger one when the orchid needs more room, since there is no medium to cause rot and the baskets have spaces for the roots to grow out of! Maybe that's what Dani is planning?
After watching your video I ordered a wooden vanda basket from rePotme and have a follow-up question regarding the watering routine. I only have one vanda right now and I keep it indoors. It's currently hanging in a clear plastic pot that I made very airy by creating "slits" down the sides with a soldering iron. I soak it every morning and once it's done I tip the pot and remove most of the water. Once I receive the wooden basket should I continue with this routine and immerse the whole basket (that I will line with plastic as you do in your video) in water? You mentioned watering every 4-5 days, but I'm not sure I would be able to keep the roots hydrated enough. In that case, wouldn't the roots have to be sitting in water? Also, with what frequency should I soak the roots in fertilized water? Thank you Danny!
I have two vandas with extremely long roots. They are both in ugly plastic baskets, one is filled with coco coir and looks rotted. Can I safely cut the baskets off and give them wood baskets? I have been told that messing with vanda roots is a death sentence for the plant. Thank you.
Danny, do you see any difference between Vandas and Mokaras?? My vandas bloom well and live quite happy in glass vases in a southeast window and they also get extra light (artificial, yes, I live in Norway - the light sucks). The mokaras grow quite fast and produce lots of new roots (also in glass vases, same place and setting as my vandas), big and healthy leaves, but no sign of flowers yet. Do you have any experience with them and do you think there is any kind of difference when cultivating them (specially compared to vandas)?
Hi Danny - Did your vandas have to go through a period of root rot after switching to this Vanda setup? I have noticed on mine after the switch (its been a couple of months) that half of the vanda roots have experienced root rot because they are not used to be in water for longer. I live in the SouthEast US so our climates are somewhat similar. Any tips on this setup? I can see that some of my Vandas are growing new roots but they never grow long enough to reach the bottom of the basket. In result, I can see that some of the vandas have started to drop leaves from the base of the leaf.
Hi Dani, I just bought my first Vanda on the tag it says Gordon Dillon X Pak Chong blue I can't find any information about it mine's not very large and it doesn't have a ton of roots right now but it has 13 leaves but yet still it's quite small maybe only a foot and some inches across its Leaf span my question for you is do you know anything about this orchid and how long do you think she is from blooming and possibly her approximate age? Thank you for any information possible!
Hello. . . I have an Oncidium Colmanara jungle monarch. I have had it for over 1 year (also has flowered) . I re-potted it as I wasn't happy with the medium I got it in. It has grown a new pseudobuld and has started to sprout a new flower spike! But these past 2days I have noticed it has gotten a few tiny tiny black spots on the leaves. . . NOT all over. I am just wondering what it could be and what I could do to fix it! Hope you can help!
I put my vandas in wooden baskets and they hated it! Lots of skinny brown dead looking roots after 6 weeks! Took them out and hung them bare rooted again.
Although I do note use baskets from this company, transport cost would be too expensive, I do have similar and they are over 5 years old and mine are all hanging outside all year round. They are still very sound and show no sign of needing replacement.
Hi danny Iam french and I’ve discovered your podcasts during august and they bacame like a drug for me you are doing a very good job thank you for all what you share with us So I need your help cause I want to order a fertilizer repot me but I dont know which one order, can you help me and said me chich one take please ?
I live in the Caribbean and have been using the MSU fertilizer for the last four years it is excellent l have used the quantum feed and l didn't see any difference in the overall health of my orchids the wooden baskets are not suitable for my environment l basically use the fertilizer alone from repot me and will definitely recommend this fertilizer for orchid growers
RepotMe is great :) First time customer and so far I am more then pleased with the service they provided!! Thank you guys :)
Thanks Danni for the indepth tutorial and tips :) I just bought my first vanda and I want to pot in a basket, yay! Thanks.
You deserve the recognition!
Those baskets are the perfect set up for Vandas.
Congratulations on Repotme. I learned of them from YOU. I already bought the Vanda box thinking I could use it for my phaleonopsis
Very very nice to your idea
You deserve the recognition because as I said yesterday you are the best!!!!!!
You're going to love those baskets; especially when you see how fast roots will roam around freely as they reach and cling on to the wood slats. Enjoy.

Good video! Like the new look for your vandas. Well done.
Congrats Dani. I love RePotMe!
Congratulations Ms. Dani 💐

Congratulations!!! That's amazing news! I found out about them first through your channel and I've been ordering from them ever since!
Great video. I have placed 2 orders with repotme, and I made sure to mention that I learned about them from your channel both times. Glad to know others are doing the same!
Congrats my dear! You deserve all this success!
The setup look very preety now

I just bought a lovely Vanda. I see they need alot of misting. I'll try this basket trick. Debbie

May I reccomend a new potting tray and some of the tools we sell
Hi, thank you very much, the baskets were packed beautifully :) I will check out the trays and accessories!

Well made baskets. Quality matters
Hi Danni thank you for sharing your videos with us. I have a question on orchid wooden baskets. Have you ever sprayed a coating to preserve the baskets. I thought about doing it spray them. If you have what products did you use. Thank you for reply.
Small silicon spatulas (cheap) serve very well to press hot glue against the sides - no burnt fingers. Also use when assembling floral wreaths.
How often do we water Vanda?
Congrats Danny!!! That's great news. I would love to order vanda baskets from them, but shipping cost is very high to EU. Hope this might change in future...
Can you put phalanopsis orchids in these? Do they need the liner?
That's a good collaboration, congrats! Unfortunately I checked and the rates for shipping in Europe are sooo high, so won't be able to order from them.
By the way, I have the same basket for my Vanda and they are excellent!
Just wondering how your place a Vanda into the wooden baskets if the have lots of long thick roots?
Hi Danni! Just watched your video on repotting Vanda in wood baskets. Both of my Vandas have 2’ long roots, do I feed them through the slats on the sides (since I will line the basket floors) ? Several roots are dark and shriveled, should I cut them? There are several healthy roots as well! Thanks, Liz
I have a vandaceous orchid that's about three feet tall and was considering cutting it. If I do will new growth come from the bottom half?
This is wonderful! I'm proud of you! Danny, please get the affiliate links! ;)

@@miriamendersby_soprano5503...yes you are right if you always want to be in wooden baskets
can i use this for phalaenopsis?
You can try to use Spanish moss(a type of airplant) instead of the coconut thing.

Why is my keiki not growing roots?? The keiki now has more than 3 big leaves but no sign of roots.

Hey Danny I was wondering, would you ever buy a dendrobium lasianthera?? It’s a wonderful dendrobium with twisty sepals and petals

I am hoping my orchid growing skills are better than my glue gun skills because that was a mess! Hopefully didn’t ruin the basic:)
You have to paint the basket with plastic paint,it will increase the life of basket for so so long..
nice.. so now you are getting freebies
