I feel like Force Cage at least deserved a mention. It's a better Wall of Force that requires a save in order to teleport out of. It seems like a lot of fun to trap an enemy in there with the resident Barbarian, fighter or Paladin and let them go to town. Alternatively, the Warlock could summon a demon to keep the trapped enemies company.

You're not the first to mention that. Apparently, Forcecage is pretty popular.

No Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion? Huh. I understand, but this has always been such a fun spell.

We've covered that one on the channel. I think Sam likes it better than I do, but I don't think either one of us were super enthusiastic over it.

Simulacrum might be the most busted spell in the game, even more so than Wish. I am surprised, though, that Forcecage was not on either of your lists. I'd also say that Draconic Transformation might actually be more powerful than Crown of Stars. It provides a Bonus Action breath weapon that does 6d8 (comparable damage to crown of stars) force damage but with a dex save for half. So unless you're fighting Rogues (evasion), it is probably better than CoS. It also provides wings (60 ft flight speed) and blind sight. See Fizban's Treasury of Dragons. EDIT: Drawback, it is concentration.

My top 5 list: (5): tie = Draconic Transformation and Crown of Stars, (4) Plane Shift, (3) Teleport, (2) Force Cage, (1) Simulacrum. Worst: Power Word Pain and Mordenkainen's Sword tie.

You're the second person to comment that we should have included Forcecage, and you're both probably right.

Sorry Sam, simulacrum is actually more busted than you think. Yes, it gets all your spell slots, but also class and race abilities. The real sauce comes when you get 9th level spells and cast wish, casting simulacrum. This removes the gold cost, and makes the cast time one action. Your simulacrum then repeats this, then that simulacrum does the same, and so on and so forth. Boom, infinite wizards. You win dnd. Please don’t actually do this in a game though.

I don't know. 9th level spells more often than not means the campaign is drawing near its end. As end-of-campaign shenanigans go, this one feels pretty epic.
