Alfie and Sundin were the epitome of the 2 Ontario teams Sundin was Tough and powerful and Alfie was slick and crafty they both perfectly represented their teams individually as a hockey fan it breaks my heart will NEVER see this type of hockey in the NHL ever again this was a very special time
it's unbelievable how the exact same play happened to alfie in the exact same spot, position, play, etc.....quick thinking on alfie's part ...this was genius! I loved it ....from a Leafs fan. Sundin the greatest ever.
As bad as the leafs were during these times I kinda miss this leafs roster and the two leafs logos at centre ice including the jerseys, must be nostalgia because it’s when I started watching hockey, and the Heatley-Spezza-Alfredsson line was so dominant
As bad as the Leafs were during this time? They lost in the second round that year which is the last time they've ever made it to the second round. Also, in the 10 year stretch leading up to this 03-04 season they made it to the conference final 4 times.
@@kakarotblake he meant after we were eliminated. 2006, and 2007 were bad since we missed out on the playoffs by 1-2 points respectively, and after that we were horrendously bad until matthews showed up
Actually no I was just making an accurate observation. Tucker is documented to have destroyed essentially every Sens player during his career. Seriously what's with everyone throwing around the word "triggered" these days? need to learn what it actually means.
when you cant win an argument you have two options. #1: reply in bulk about how the other person is triggered. #2: make many unrelated comments in hopes that you can "trigger" the other person.
My brother in law has the mats stick from this game lol... well the replacement.. he offered the person that caught it a few bucks and got the broken one

Does anyone remember when this was? Season, month etc? Also shoutout to those Easton half wood, half composite sticks. This sticks were great and paved the way for many composite sticks later. Also weird to think that composites are so recent. I definitely thought the one piece composite was around in the mid 2000s, which is when I started playing competitive (rep) hockey
Been A Leaf fan for longer than most here have been alive, and I never saw the problem with this. Sundin was a goofball for throwing his stick into the crowd. Alfie and he were friends and teammates on international competition. It was just a good natured way to take the piss out of 'em. Silly thing to get wrapped up in.
you true character shows when you're in the lead to take a sucker punch when you're beating a team 7 1 shows how pathetic you are and small in the pants
jimmelay71 they felt he was mocking Sundin who actually did throw his stick into the crowd in a previous game. I don’t think he was trying to mock anyone, just looking to have a little fun with the situation, but Leafs fans already hated him for the hit on Tucker, hence Leaf fans got butt hurt.
I mean, this was hilarious, but can we sit back and appreciate the guy with his girlfriend holding the sign "Throw sticks here", and the cameraman obliging them with a look right after the Alfredsson fake?
lol they haven't even played each other in the playoffs since the leafs beat them 3 out of 4 years.. XD oh and alfie is retired so of course they haven't played recently.
Fellow Sweedes but Alfi gets away with it even if he faked in it still should be a penalty let alone this wasn't the same game as Sundin throwing his stick over the glass.
DungTrumpet Yeah it could go right through someone's heart and kill them right on the spot. So dangerous, Sundin should have had jail time in my opinion.

and against the leafs lol
Sundin laughed heartily about this but in Leaf fan land........................................................
Haha gotta love that hair Alfie was rockin back then
Dont hate Daniel, Mats and Daniel are good friends
Why would anyone hate Daniel? He's not the one who recklessly endangered fans by throwing his stick.
2 of the best captains
@havier bardem Lidstrom

Darcy Tucker's sour face 😂😂😂
I'm pretty sure Tucker knocked every single Senaturds player on their asses with his hits during his career.
lol, F Dumb got triggered.

My captain!
Back when sticks used to break every 4 to 5 shots lol
From January 6th/8th, 2004.
Was Sundin suspended for the 2nd game
God, I love Alfie so much.
so funny guy, and great player.
Mulph Mullesson Sundin was way better but I didnt see this being that much of a mocking imo
The passion that unites us all lol

A “sucker punch” is even worse of a way to take it. Was seriously all in good fun. And I hated Alfredsson, but this did nothing to fuel that.
What's the actual call on the play?
why a minor and a suspension? why not a 5 and misconduct, weird.
Because he threw a small spear at the audience.
Aw, the poor Leafs had their feelings hurt :'( Alfie should've known that wasn't the politically correct thing to do.
cashtheyen lolll crushef
@@insertnamehere1792 Not in the slightest.
@cashtheyen You must be pretty new to hockey, because apparently you didn't realize they were in different divisions until recently.
I mean the leafs kept kicking their asses in the playoffs sooo😂😂
Lol did anyone see # 19 on the leafs do the two handed slash to the back of legs? The other guy didn’t even flinch lol!!!
LEGEND
so bloody fun hahaha, made my day, again
Extremely relevant
Was this one of the many years where the Leafs knocked out the Sens in the playoffs?
@NSIEGS94 Unless you're a Habs fan, you don't get to say something like that.
leafs blow another 3-1 lead haha shitters
It was!
Was this another decade the leafs didnt make the finals
He was probably like..."wait, I don't want to get fined."
Ah yes, great captain material.
I love this comment section nice to have this rivalry mean something again.
Leaf fans are still upset about a funny joke.
What year is this?
Galen Swift 2003-2004 season
that's really dangerous actually...

Man. Alfie was a sexy mofo back in the day.
that was really funny ...
Greg millin has to be the most obnoxious commentator of all time. Thank God us Leafs fans don't have to listen to him anymore
So true
I love how much leaf fans hated Alfie. Leaf fans are by far the worst in the nhl.
hahaha alfie
Alfredsson was a carrot top reject
Made more money than you ever will
alfie > all of toronto
at Alfie? yup!
lol except his bumass team always got knocked out of the playoffs by the mighty maple leaf
not anytime soon or recently. checkmate

Such a dirty hit by a bush league player. Proves your respect for the game.
Lol, that was wack
krusty doing what he does best, which is trying to imitate a superior player.

Ben Presley Mad that Alfredsson will forever live in the shadow of Sundin?
Lmao

I’ll relive Sundin being in the HOF and Alfie well, he made it to the Cup once I guess.
