    The 13U photos are with HDR enhanced while the 5D is underexposed. Not a good comparison. Perhaps use pro mode in 13U to play with shutter & iso without HDR to underexpose photo just like 5D.

    What I would like to see in the comparisons between photophones and real cameras 📸, especially since they now have mostly 1" type of sensors, is a comparison between the raw photos of the 2 devices, because all the photo modes of smartphones, even the most ''realistic'' remains to be in real retouched photos.

  • @davidletterboyz

    Can you compare their shadow/highlight recovery headroom in RAW? The 13 Ultra is the first 1" sensor phone that is able to shoot full 50MP in RAW with multi-shots staking. I'm curious how much it is able to close the gap.

    I feel that the comparison is a bit flawed, the Canon used an exposure compensation of -1. You could havve done the same on tn Xiaomi, or both on -0.7. Also it's not clear if you used the Leica vibrant or Leica authentic color setting on the Xiaomi. I do apreciate your video.

    The Xiaomi is overprocessed , if we could turn off most of the processing i'm sure it would look a lot more natural which i like, i have the Mi 11 Ultra with a modified version of the camera app that allows to turn off processing and adjust saturation/contrast/sharpness, i would be curious to see RAW and Leica authentic comparison too, thank you for the video !
    To me the Canon feels a lot more ''Alive'' like you where there

    i like to see xiaomi 13 ultra RAW editing to be very close to dslr photos.

    Looking at the samples you posted, I see that the Canon uses quite a bit of in-camera edge sharpening, while the Xiaomi doesn't.

    Thanks, very interesting. I guess I still prefer the Canon for its natural granular rendering. Probably, as mentioned, working with RAW on Xiaomi could mitigate some of those harsh differences between the two.

    • @VelianSpeaksTech
      @VelianSpeaksTech  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks man, appreciate it. Same here, somehow I also tend towards the photos from the Canon for their naturalism and even with flaws included. The 13U produces mega sharp photos, great photos, but they are bit more processed when compared to a DSLR (or at least to the 5D classic which is praised to have a film-like look & feel to the photos)...
      But overall that`s it, not fair to compare 2 photos devices from 18 years apart, but also interesting to just see how much camera phones evolved, what was once only to be found in Nokia Lumia and S zoom phones now is more or less standard in the premium phones segment.

      @@VelianSpeaksTech i think its kinda fair because if you ask any photographer they would say its all about physics here we give everything needed to the dslr, much more consistent vesus would be low light because then both of them would use same or very close shutter speed constantly, and can be set to even same iso

    • @VelianSpeaksTech
      @VelianSpeaksTech  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@stx7389 Agree. This test or whatever it is only shows the long way smartphone cameras went from 2005 till now, because I checked and D5 mark IV in day light produces almost identical footage to the 5D classic, but a phone 2005 were nowhere about the same level, and now they are. Probably even since a few years they are.

    thanks for the comparison .Interesting . most Canon shot at -1EV ,it will makes Xiaomi looks over expose in all the shot . Nevertheless , getting such a close to Canon color rendition & reasonable sharpness , I will take this camera photo out anytime .with a little LR , photo will be outstanding as i have done with my X 13U which is a wonderful real cam,as I am able to add the needed filters in the front (with the well designed case!)

    Yeah more detail and sharpen on any flagship now, I wonder how close this could get to reality with paid cam app + raw reducing those oversaturations etc hm

    i had xiaomi for a short while. it supposedly had 48mp. i shot it against my 6d mk2 26mp and the camera won all the way. the camera's images were superior.

    Frankly comparing full frame to 1" sensor is somewhat unfair...however comparing micro 4/3 or APSC sensor dslr to 13U might be much closer.

    1 inch tiny sensor with 50 megapixel? Haha bring them to low light... when u zoom in 150% you'll see why ppl still use real camera

    Are you crazy 🤪? You can't compare a phone with a professional camera. Xiaomi has taken a big step forward. Throwing mud between 2 completely different machines is unfair. Ps: I'm not a fan of xiaomi
