Thank you so much. I have a Cambridge Wide Margin with hideous ribbons. Your video talked me through the steps. I used a long hemostat to get the ribbons down into the spine a good distance. It turned out perfectly. Thanks again
Thank you i just got an ESV just to see what they read like.Its a cheapy bible so it doesn't have any ribbons,now im going to give it a couple. I usually use the NASB or NKJV, sometimes the KJV.Wanted to get an ESV just out of curiosity. Thanks for the vid,very helpful.

Thank you for building up the courage to do this project, I managed to attempt to reattach the edge binding cover sheet in my Classic Reference Top Grain ESV and messed it up completely..but it just looks like a good broken in Bible now in one shot..lol
Great Teaching Video on replacing Ribbons. No way would I ever do it though because I am pretty sure I'd mess up my Bibles. I will stick to the Ribbons I have in there and continue to use Bookmarks if the Ribbons annoy me. Actually I like Bookmarks better -- especially the kind that clip on 😁. But GREAT JOB! 🌺
Honestly, I would not recommend shoving any tong tool down the back of the spine of any bible, as you did, because you could really damage the stitching that's holding that thing together! I've learned from a pastor I watch how to open that headband and you can just snip those old ribbons off behind the headband without yanking them right out. To open the head band a space it is safer to use a butter knife (a completely smooth edges blunt knife) and be very gentle about opening it.

That seems like a lot of glue you applied - do you have concern of it oozing out onto gild edge?
No not really. I haven't had an issue.
Can I use PVA glue for it just like I would for the edge lined construction?

A bone folder for separation is what I use. I've done over 20 bibles using it and 5 years later, you can't tell anything was ever disturbed. 👍

Why not just glue to the spine opening?
Because then the ribbons would come over the headband. That would not look like a professional job.
