Have you run the game beforehand? Running the game generates the folder, if it still is not there, try running an integrity or cache scan on steam, it's wherever your saves are located, depending on service (GOG, etc) it may be in a different location.
1) Run the game to make sure the folder exists 2) Go into steam, right click o New Vegas, and select properties 3) Go to local files,and click "verify integrity of cache"
so the problem i have is that nexus mod manager needs to untick the fallout.ini from read only and well the 4gb patcher needs it ticked so does that mean i cant use nexus mod manager?

So I ran the 4gb patcher and it says it installed but it looks like they changed the name of the original from falloutNV_unpatched to FalloutNV_backup.

You need to have NVSE installed to run most mods. You can run the game through the patched executable in order to use 4GB worth of RAM. If you load your game through the patched .exe, go to the main menu, and type "getnvseversion" that will show you if NVSE is running or not. Personally, I prefer the old method of 4GB Address aware.

Sure. The Patcher allows the game to address 4GB of system Memory instead of 1.5/2GB. It allows for better stability and the possibility of using heavier mods ingame. I personally prefer to use the 4GB Enabler though.
What is the difference between the Enabler and the Patcher ? Also Can these be implemented whenever is the game ? Or do you need to make a fresh start ?
Your game progress is independent of when you can install the $GB Update, do it whenever. Enabler is older, Patcher is newer. I've used the Enabler more and prefer it. I have a video on either version, my recommendation is "4GB Enabler + NVSE" video.

Do you have checked how much RAM your FalloutNV.exe use with task manager after this usefull 4GB patch? Less then 2 GB at all the time. Have checked the FalloutNV.exe with CFF Explorer and their noticed that App can handle more than 2GB. So the patcher patched the exe but exe dont used this space in practice. I start Fallout New Vegas with the own Script Extender exe, the FalloutNVLauncher.exe or the patched FalloutNV.exe as admin. No one use more then 2GB RAM space. So the patcher dont work what i can see. Its funny, i have a good pc, have good HD textures and enb but pc cant handle this game becasue game cant use my recources. The Fallout.ini tweaks not the problem, the importand lines are maximised that game can use 5GB RAM (default are 500MB RAM using) and use different cpu threads for different processes. I think the problem is the 32bit exe, we need a 64bit exe for using more then 2GB. The 4GB Patcher its not the solution what i can see.
In order for the game to run on 64 bit, you would have to recompile the whole thing. Keep in mind that task manager isn't always correct in terms of RAM readings, Aida64 is more accurate. Poor performance is caused by low GPU usage, which is only fixable by increasing GPU demand (note that ENBs are more CPU than GPU intensive).
So it isnt realistic to become a 64bit version from modders. Maybe later as Fallout 4 Capital Wasteland Mod. Without the original characters or main and secondary quests in my home language. So it is not a good option. A good option is overhaul these old Fallout games. To check if the game use 4, 5 or 6GB RAM or it is lower as 2GB the Task Manager is exactly enough because between is a large space of memory. The task manager is a good method to check this rough limits. For example, check Fallout 3 or New Vegas with Task Manager after using the 4GB patch, large adress enabler, or the CFF Explorer option and then check Fallout 4, Arma 3 or other Games from the last 3 years. Fallout 3 or New Vegas use bevore and after patching 1.6 or 1.8GB and Fallout 4, Arma 3 or similar games use 4, 5, or 6GB. If it the 4GB patching methods works, then Fallout 3 or New Vegas have similar space of memory using as the newer games. If it not then we see lower as 2GB. So we dont need exactly data of using memory for this problem. My Graphic Card is a Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4G, 4GB GDDR5 from MSI. With this i play a photorealistic overhauled Fallout 4 without lagging, stottering or freezing. I have no guarantees for a pirated version. This should theoretically work. This version means running the game off the original .exe is available. The other method is for running it off a different file, the 4gb enabler. I prefer the older method but this one should work fine as well.
If the game doesn't crash all that often when using a lot of mods. That may sound silly, but the point I've modded New Vegas, one thing snaps, and everything comes crumbling down. I much prefer the 4GB Enabler rather than the Patcher though.

I found a fix for the MSVCR error; www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784. Just go to the link and download the package for whatever version of microsoft you have. It had something to do with something missing in the code program so it was impossible to run.

The Patcher still has some issues, if you use the NVSE + 4GB Enabler video, there should be a pinned comment for ENBs. Try using a wrapper instead of injector, that worked for me.

Sry, if I sound dumb Edit: NVSE (beta version 5.0b3) from nvse.silverlock.org/ is working in my game, I checked this by launching Fallout, then opened the console and typed "GetNVSEVersion" (without the quotes) and it printed back "NVSE version: 5", so i guess it's OK with NVSE. Then I quit the game & tried to launch FalloutNVpatch.exe and it printed back the same "FalloutNV.exe is already patched! Press any key to continue . . ." What do u think about it, is it ok?
Please make sure that you run via steam, or the patched exe, if the above continues to not work, and you wish to revert, you can do the following: 1) Removed the new vegas exe, and rename the unpatched exe to the same name 2) Delete both exes and use steam to verify the integrity of cache The above steps are for mod uninstallation, however, the mod should work correctly. I prefer the 4GB enabler over the 4gb patcher however, perhaps you will find better luck with that.
So for the 4gb patch and NVSE to both work I should launch the game directly through steam and ignore the NVSE launcher I made previously is that correct ?

Make sure you are using the right bit version for your OS, such as 64 bit for 64 bit Windows

You just have to copy paste the nvse files into your game directory. The 4GB Patched exe works with nvse automatically.

Haven't heard about that before, the game runs terribly regardless though. Try getting the performance booster from the nexus, and use NVSE.

Edit: NVSE (beta version 5.0b3) from nvse.silverlock.org/ is working in my game, I checked this by launching Fallout, then opened the console and typed "GetNVSEVersion" (without the quotes) and it printed back "NVSE version: 5", so i guess it's OK with NVSE. Then I quit the game & tried to launch FalloutNVpatch.exe and it printed back the same "FalloutNV.exe is already patched!
Press any key to continue . . ."
What do u think about it, is it ok?

Please make sure that you run via steam, or the patched exe, if the above continues to not work, and you wish to revert, you can do the following:
1) Removed the new vegas exe, and rename the unpatched exe to the same name
2) Delete both exes and use steam to verify the integrity of cache
The above steps are for mod uninstallation, however, the mod should work correctly. I prefer the 4GB enabler over the 4gb patcher however, perhaps you will find better luck with that.

What abou the Script extender ?? Does this 4gb launcher run the script extender too ?
Yes, if you have NVSE in your directory, either 4gb variant will run it

So for the 4gb patch and NVSE to both work I should launch the game directly through steam and ignore the NVSE launcher I made previously is that correct ?

If New vegas is updated, try verifying integrity of cache, if that doesn't work, try using an older version of the mod
