I want to share some testimony: I was delivered, chains broken, from anxiety and depression and I want to THANK OUR HEAVENLY FATHER GOD, & PRAISE, WORSHIP AND GLORIFY HIM IN JESUS MIGHTY NAME FOR HELPING A SINNER LIKE ME. AND DELIVERING ME. THANK YOU JESUS CHRIST for all you do for me!!!!! Us !!!!!
Lord, country music just is not what it use to be I can't stand modern country music but I can listen to the Goldie oldies for hours I truely believe I was born too late
Yeah. I hate nowadays country (country hip hop?...a discrace. Listen to Johnny Rebel you sissies! ) but I love Blue grass! American folk. Love for my heritage. White boy without regret.
Jagged Edge Bluegrass is incredible. I have studied all genres of music my entire life and I am now 75, but I never get tired of listening to this great, vintage Bluegrass!
The sound quality is what does it for me. You could have incredibly talented musicians re-record all these songs today and it just wouldn’t have the same impact. There’s a presence in every instrument and voice in these old recordings that can’t be replicated.
Thanks for beautiful songs . This music makes it impossible for me to be depressed. Uplifting, joyful gospel tunes make my day God bless you guys forever. ☝️😊🎶
These fellas have been some of my favorite blue grass music for many many years aproxamently 65 or 70 years... I surely miss them when they left planet earth.. but I have kept them in my heart all the time
Carol Shepherd I love this music too. This is from a time o struggle and pain. There were no luxuries or modern conveniences. But what this music teaches us is an unabashed trust in the Lord. Jesus was more real to them than to most folks. My mother taught me to love this music. One time I called her and she was listening to Johnny Cash and I was shocked. I said what are you listening to??? I said mom you like hillbilly music? I was shocked because we are black people! And my mother explained to me that in Alabama where she was born and raised (19280) everybody listed to this kind of music. When the family sat and listened to the radio this is what they heard and they loved it. She even told me how once in a while some hillbillies came down from the hills to get some prayer for a healing. When the healing took place they would dance for joy all over the place. So I miss these dear brothers and everyone else like them. They always brought me closer to God. I am afraid this generation may never know what it is like to have nothing but Jesus. God bless you sister, stay safe out there.
I'm from Colorado mountains but have been so fascinated with Appalachia. These songs are amazing and to me sound like neighbors in a holler shouting back and forth with the echo of the mountains. ❤
I will say I am 79 years old back in the 1940s n 50s it was called hillbilly music then later was called bluegrass and country n western music after all these years I am still a hillbilly music lover Ralph n Carter was kin to my daughter n laws daddy like 2nd or 3rd cousins
True Americana! My ol timer musicoligist buddy from Oaxaca would agree this is Musica de Tierra! How great to share great real music from around the world! Thanx for posting!....👍🎸🎶💖🤙
I rember Ralph and Carter with Ray Davis on ther radio show from the used car lot in Baltimor Md. and the riseing sun festaible in Riseing sun Md.Those were the good old years and now at 81 yrs still love the music.
Just as far as I can remember She'll remain the rose of my heart Mom took sick along in December February brought us broken hearts The reason we've not called the family reunion We knew that she wouldn't be there But since we've thought it all over, mama We know that your spirit is there No, no, I can't forget the hours You're the onliest one, mom And sweeter than the flowers No, no, there's no need to bother To speak of you now would only hurt father It looks so good to see us together But I had to look after dad Oh mama, when I passed by your coffin I didn't want to remember you dead They all gathered 'round, I stared at their faces All heads were bowed mighty low But that was one time we all had to face it It hurt us so bad you know No, no, I can't forget the hours You're the onliest one, mom And sweeter than the flowers No, no, there's no need to bother To speak of you now would only hurt father Oh, no, momma, we'll never forget you And someday we'll meet you up there
People really cared for their relatives and friends back then, and it was great. The U S govt took that away from us, while they were making themselves millions, or billions. I still miss my Mom and Dad, who gave me a great deal of wisdom back then. Now it seems to be over thanks to both parties. What a waste.
Rank Stranger reminds me of of 1966 and my first demonstration against Vietnam Warriors. Three a.m. and they’re out on the tarmac right up to the stairs coming out of the Aircraft! Hippie asses then, hippie DemonRATS now! I remember thinking.....What the hall happened to my Country in only four and a half years! God Save us from this and help our Nation take care of business! In Jesus name, Amen!
Shackles and Chains On a long lonesome journey I'm going Oh darling, and please don't you cry Though in shackles and chains they will take me In prison to stay till I die And at night through the bars, I gaze at the stars And I long for your kisses in vain A piece of stone I will use for my pillow While I'm sleeping in shackles and chains Put your arms through these bars once, my darlin' Let me kiss those sweet lips that I love best In heartache, you're my consolation In sorrow, my haven of rest And at night through the bars, I will gaze at the stars The plans that we made were in vain A piece of stone I will use as my pillow While I'm sleeping in shackles and chains
You’re very lucky! I am 76, and didn’t find this great music until I was in my mid-thirties and have loved it ever since! Greatest music in the Country! 🇺🇸❤️🙏
Danny Mcclusky Excellent collection, but Rank Stranger is also my favorite! It brings back memories of my first experience upon arrival back from Vietnam and a Marine! Everyone was gone!
Yes that song is spectacularly beautiful they have many more that could contest it though Fast Express , Little Birdie, ,Little Maggie, and Stone Walls and Steel Bars!
Dad would play his guitar, doing wild wood flower, when he was 92 he picked it up and cried because his old hands would not bend right for the cords. 3 more Months he was 93 went to Haven where God could fix his fingers to play wild wood flower
This music make me remember my brother, I am so glad for it. my younger brother, he thought blue grass was funny, he introduced me to this music as satire after he died .......... I associate Stanley brother with my Brother William Robert S. RIP Billy Bob. You were my best brother, I miss you greatly. I'll see you at the angels bend.
I walked beside you in the blazing sun on mountain switchbacks, we chased your red ticks in the moon light as they chased ol bandit up an oak tree, never to be shot out of respect, i fought beside you in senseless scraps, and now your gone but the music remains. I miss you Cowboy.
Don't know maybe I like to be sad but Wildwood Flower is my fav ... It hits harder then the others makes me feel something even if its sadness even if there is no words to the song but most of us probably do know them.

Anyone who can not listen to this music is not a true hillbilly. This is the heart and soul of blue grass and gospel music.

This is what I needed to find
Just as far as I can remember
She'll remain the rose of my heart
Mom took sick along in December
February brought us broken hearts
The reason we've not called the family reunion
We knew that she wouldn't be there
But since we've thought it all over, mama
We know that your spirit is there
No, no, I can't forget the hours
You're the onliest one, mom
And sweeter than the flowers
No, no, there's no need to bother
To speak of you now would only hurt father
It looks so good to see us together
But I had to look after dad
Oh mama, when I passed by your coffin
I didn't want to remember you dead
They all gathered 'round, I stared at their faces
All heads were bowed mighty low
But that was one time we all had to face it
It hurt us so bad you know
No, no, I can't forget the hours
You're the onliest one, mom
And sweeter than the flowers
No, no, there's no need to bother
To speak of you now would only hurt father
Oh, no, momma, we'll never forget you
And someday we'll meet you up there
