Actually, Howard Watts, (a.k.a. Cedric Rainwater), was Flatt & Scruggs' very first Bass Player. Josh joined them as Bass Player sometime in 1954, and eventually moved full time to play Dobro, by sometime in 1955. It was then that Jake Tullock joined as Bass Player.
