- Nioh 2 tips and tricks. In this video I talk about the mistakes I made on my first Nioh 2 play through. I discuss some tips and tricks for new players and things to be aware of so that you don't make the same mistakes I did! These are things I wish I knew earlier in Nioh 2.

Tip: Do not select all and use resting rites on your soul cores. You might lose unlocked mortal soul cores which can be ignored due to no special effects.
Yep agreed.... I always select soul cores for resting rites manually to be honest

Switching from 2 to 3 item wheels changed the game for me. I run a ninjitzu build with a ton of "unused ninjitzu" buffs so a little bit if everything can go really far. There's no enemy or situation I don't have an answer for at any given time. I have my heal shortcut on all 3 wheels set the same so I always have it available in a pinch.
Yeah I do the same thing... Make sure I have a heal available in the same spot on every wheel! I've made the mistake before where I got caught with no heal and panicked haha... Then died 😂

1 major careless mistake I made was during a revenant gear trade session. I was in the middle of working on a new build when someone had asked me for help. I saved my new build at level 240 and then put the remaining (3 Billion Amrita) into a Siblar Ingot so I didn’t accidentally loose it during the trading session.
Helped him out and went back to my build. Pulled out the 3 Billion in Amrita and then got another request for rev gear trade. Proceeded to help the new request and in the process, I forgot that I had the remaining 60 levels and 3Billion Amrita on me at the time. Long story short, I wasn’t focused and lost 3.5 Billion Amrita due to a careless mistake!
Moral of the story here, always be extra focused when re-specing builds! Make sure you don’t do anything foolish when you have excessive amounts of Amrita that haven’t been used to level up or stores into a Siblar Ingot for future leveling.
holy sh1t. the most amrita i lost in 1 go is about 150k, and that nearly made me rage~quit 😆 I can't imagine if i lose like yours; might burn my house lol
Tips: do not focus on 1 weapon try everything, use omnyo magic and ninjitsu are very important, read all armor bonuses before dropping it.

Yeah I did some of those things. My biggest one, was running a second character. It was a mage build and I took it all the way to the very late part of the game and I was very thorough, all kadamas, maps completely explored, etc. Then with my main, I ended up going further with it and found out that all of that other was a waste of time. Uhhh so many hours, but if anything I guess that was time learning the game better.
Thank you that was very informative. One suggestion I would say is if you're really trying to play this game , open Ninjutsu and omnio Magic in the first Quest by using the item they give you to exit and re-enter / restart Quest until your Kodama Bazaar offers you bombs Stars or weapon enhancement talismans. Once you have a point in each you can level them at your leisure. But get at least one point in each in the first Quest it really helps progress through the early game

Tip: Dont max out your armor pieces with only orange inheritables, you won't be able to add a white inheritable such as wind storm damage, etc.
Goddammit!!! I found this one out just yesterday too.... got one piece of armor I can't max out now - very frustrating. Good tip!

I'll leave here a suggest: not everybody natively speak English so text is ALWAYS welcome, even more so if the game have some strange term like nioh (all the items names etch). so organizing the tips and a brief summary of it can help drastically, you in looking more professional, and your viewer understanding the video better, even the non English speakers! apart from this cheers, good job, this really helps new players!
Here's one from my playthrough.
I thought smithing text is useless since it just forge until purple but when you press triangle on forge button you forge divine item.

Also you can save styles in your Hut, Basically If you dont like your new build this lets you "Reset" back to your previous build at the cost of a book of reincarnation :) what I actually do Is to make a backup of the save game before the respec, so I can use the most optimal stat distribution fo the weapons I wanna try but yeah, starting over is not it lul

good video. all easily made mistakes. I got yasakani for completing winds of ruin. may not be the the quickest way to find one but you would be getting tons of divines along the way at least.

Great video! All these tips will be good for me to know in the future. I just discovered how to get to the warehouse, but haven’t really found out how to access my items that I have more of. One instance that I find really irritating is the over encumbrance, and how to store weapons that I don’t want to sell to the blacksmith. Another thing I don’t know how to access is having a lot of points in a weapon but then not being able to use them? It says mission not cleared, but I looked at the world map and couldn’t find the mission it told me. Is there a way to easily switch between ur two melee weapons as well? And accessing the various shortcuts as well? I know this is a two month old video, but if u for some reason have time to answer all of my question, I’d greatly appreciate it! I definitely enjoy the combat of Nioh 2, and the magic etc. But they really should give u more hints on how to play the game better!
You should be able to find your storehouse if you go to the "hut" when you're on the map screen before jumping into any of the missions. Also there should be a button when you're looking in your inventory to move things to the storehouse (sorry I can't remember which button it is right now but it should be shown at the bottom of the screen when you're looking at your items).. Hope that helps
you also need to play the tutorial missions. that way you can get the missions needed to unlock weapon skills. i had the same problem for some time before i heard it in some other video about nioh 2
Yeah, I've lost some upgraded weapons a couple of times (sadly) because I went to upgrade them, then didn't relock them after and either sold them or dismantled them. Nice post though, highly relatable.
If you happen to accidently sell them, there is a buy back option. 😊 But yes, know that feeling.
@@Migsumili , yeah I know but I only noticed the problem unfortunately post leaving the blacksmith, and at least one if not more saves later. Just so silly, but I do think I've finally learned my lesson. Take care.

Your last point, I did that! Farming for a cat core for ages, got one and used a branch to quit, while at the same time remembering that I should of gone to a shrine, lost it .lol

for tip 2 i had the problem with hayabusa
one of the hidden skill did not drop
i got it later on dream of the nioh
and needed 1 week to get a yasakani with maricis grace (got it on my 15 try )
Two things I realized today. One, if u have light gear or fast run speed u can bait groups of enemies around corners because they don't attack unless they have line of sight(i kite and farm groups of human enemies and small yokai). Also u can hold guard before during and after using burst counter. Any frame where you're vulnerable will be safe(its the one reason I kept dying and I haven't died since) results may vary. Good video BTW. Love this game

At the very beginning where you said about not creating new characters if you would like to try out different builds, i can see why because just to skip the grind fest but what if i just would like to roleplay as someone else rather than my previous character?
like yeah the grind i imagine would make it hard but im used to this alot especially in the dark souls series where i used to make dozens of new characters with different play styles to make it more fun for me to play.
Yeah I agree... I just know what I'm like for making alternative characters and wasting loads of time in games haha. If you like to roleplay though, that's different
Lol I got my first Yasakani (Yagaratsu) from some random dead body loot :)
i made the mistake of leveling 2 characters early... i wish there had been someway to tell that it's better just to respec with one before i did the instinctual arpg thing. In the end i don't mind having 2 late game characters but my GOD the grind for weapon arts, smithing texts and proficiency skills is massive just with one character alone.
Ps. i got the Yasakani skill the first time i beat him.
Yeah I lost hours and hour messing about with different characters... can't be too cranky about it though. Learnt a lesson and still enjoyed my time playing it

i think i got a yasakani everytime i killed Otakemaru on way of the demon,wise.... i never really sweated not having it.... also the game isn't that hard just focus on what weapons or build you want to use and then do the required missions, also there are missions with companions which are super easy to finish i barely did any extra missions to get to the next difficulty level ... i'm at way of the nioh right now and i think i'm going to end game content pretty soon hope i can cut it :P
Just curious does the book of reincarnation have a price cap?? I ask because on your first tip a thing that might be a issue it's me wanting to swap builds I have but then that option becomes too expensive with gold.
Yeah it does... If I remember right, the price caps at 1 mil... But when you hit endgame, you'll most likely find that money isn't really an issue
dont do what I did and buy a million respec books so early because you want to change things so much. it becomes a pain in the ass.
How are you hiding your gun/bow? I also noticed in your other videos they don't appear on your back. Is there a trick to hide them? If so can you do that with other melee weapons?

What's your take on dissasembling yellow and blue gear to Forge gear during NG. Worthwile or better spent offering it to Kodamas?
Personally I've gotten to the point where I sell anything purple or below... I've spent a LOT on tempering. Anything green below +3 I dismantle for parts... And anything +3 or above I keep for soul matching to bring my own gear up in + levels... Not saying that's the right or wrong way... Just the way I've been doing it recently
@@Onos Thanks. Thinking I may need the materials from disasembling for forging and tempering. Kodamas can have the whites for now. Not gotten to the point where I am getting any Greens yet. Need to clear the tutorial that is NG LOL

I tried farming Yasakani, spend so much time, i was fuming. In the end , as soon as i unlocked the yasakani reward mission, i went straight to it. And of course, i died alot in that mission,my lvl wasnt that high. Dont farm yasakani, you will get plenty later in NG+.
This is true! To be honest I still haven't found a second Yasakani! Also really need a decent divine tokichiro's Gourd!...Damn accessories haha
A Yasakani dropped for me in ng+ off a random human during the bird in a cage mission.
I spent the next minute sitting in my chair my going WHAT, HOW!!!
Bit of context this happened after days of farming Kato for a divine version of his sword.

My tip would be to save every inheritable weapon skill gauntlets , even if you don't currently main that weapon. I spent yesterday farming for Moonlit Snow Damage inheritables, since I trashed the ones I've picked up way earlier... and yes incase someone needs those. Revenant psn: InsaneYES at +5 shrine has Moonlit Snow inheritable on every armor piece.

Hey I have a question that im hoping someone can give me an answer to because I havent been able to find an answer on Google. So do the attributes on your weapons only pertain to the specific weapon they're on or is it an all together or like across the board type thing?

Do not waste your gold leveling up +1-2 weapons/armor. Find a hard mission that drops +5-6 gear and farm it on repeat.
i mean before level half way through the game there isnt much a thing as a build just do balanced stats and try out all the weapons and see what you like and dont like and after awhile youll get books of reincarnation from the game instead of paying for it. Gain 200K profiency in everything and then choose what build u wanna play.

My biggest mistake that I did was I did not know how to trasfer a soul core to the storehouse. I accidentally resting rites one of my 170 soul cores.

I'd love to! The only problem is that my own builds aren't really perfect! I might do a video on my favorite build as soon as I've finished it... Got some more work to do on it yet
the only real reason to start a new ccharacter is if you wanna challenge yourself and do a zero deaths speed run or something otherwise one main character is enough to go through the whole game get everything. you can always change your appearance and since you dont name your character... the game really is a one character focused game.
Is 1 million gold cheap for respect books? I'm very stingy when it comes to games lol, I'm only still in NG at the moment, I never bought one book yet but from what I believe it'll become 1 million gold after a few purchases? Let me know thnx.

I started it again, after not being able to beat the second mission . Idk why this game is just unrelentingly hard i beat every other game like this except sekiro. I cant beat the basic monkeys who climb and spear u. Keep in mind i play offline cause i dont have internet. But this game really is impossible for some reason. I beat the first game. And just went back to play some dlc

At this level I'd just advise to make sure to do all the side quests. If you fall behind because you've lost a load of Amrita, just load into one of the easier quests and kill everything to catch you up to a decent level

My dumb mistake was dissasembling a level 170 weapon. I mean, I already have my main weapon at 170 but it just sucks to lose it. The "dissasemble all" option now scares me.
Haha yep... I've had a few close calls with that... Now I only ever select purple or below... Anything green I deal with manually 😂😂

need help find bizen kageyasu text the one i have now is block inheritable and im try to remove that but i find my options better if i just craft a bizen :/ i farm tsukahara but not drop. i have fairly good item drop rate and luck

Hey Tom. How far are you in to the game? You could try checking out the the video called "weapon synergy" in the guides play list... That will give you an idea which skill points scale with each of the different weapon types. Would that help?

Tip: play Nioh 1 to understand something
In my opinion , you shouldn't start a video with a setting sun right in the eyes, but maybe that's just me.

So who’s found all the locks of hairs/Kodamas/hot springs, completed all dojo missions and other missions on both difficulties, got 100 percent on smithing texts and titles, maxed out every proficiency and got the platinum? I have, got 4.5 billion Amrita stored in my silabar Ingot too, all my weapons and gear are +10 and all 6 of my soul cores I have slotted in are level 9

the systems in this game are dogshite 🤣 i can save you alot of time with my tip number 1. ignore all of the stat crap 😂 entitely. play the game, enjoy. everything is convoluted.
its got the most convoluted systems i have ever seen in any game and a majority of it makes you 3% stronger. i grinded, minmaxed all that. still got 2 shot halfway through the game 😂
seems like the only time a difference is ever made power wise is if your end end end game. which i don't even reccomend. its all pointlessly repeating after new game plus.
some of the systems are so convoluted you would absolutely never ever ever figure them out without spending like 4 hours watching guides 🤣
i remember reading respecing to spec into a weapon i was actually using. my power increased at leasssssst 0.7% 😂🤣
game play 9 outa 10. visuals to me 10 outa 10. grinding, loot and minmaxing -10 outa 10.
also i have like 500 1000 hours into this game and i didn't understand any tip you gave 😂 cause its so convoluted i don't even wanna know lol. not gonna farm some piece of loot for 19 hours 🤣 thats dogwater.
