This week, we visit a unique 3-room resale HDB at Ghim Moh that has been overhauled from its existing 2 bedroom layout to one that is totally shaped for homeowners Hao Yu and Victoria's living needs.
There are a number of special rearrangements they've done. One of which is to knock down both bedrooms to combine into one master bedroom that can fit in a king-sized bed. This meant that they had more space to move around the bedroom, and were even able to incorporate a walk-in wardrobe (that can double up as a study/office as well!).
They were also able to fit in a kitchen island (for their cooking enthusiast needs), and what's doubly unique is the household shelter that has been turned into a walk-in pantry. Plus it helps that the service yard offers CBD-like views of the Star Vista area.
Finally, we do like that they've chosen to fit in the washer into the bathroom instead. It's something that is done in Western countries today instead of fitting it in the kitchen.

Alright! Another lovely home with cute couple. Although the area is small, the designed layout of each piece of furniture/kitchen counter top is so well planned. They clearly know what they want to do with the space and definitely made the most and best out of it! Also, I love their choice of the main wood color and placing that appropriately sized and good looking dining set in that corner. Not forgetting the study desk too. Everthing looks cozy and warm with a touch of luxurious chic without trying too hard! (I buy mostly from TB too!)

Actually what is so luxurious about this house ? Dark doesn’t equates to luxurious.
Taobao stuff can look nice online because those seller has no qualms about posting fake photos to attract buyer. When i compared the photos posted by buyers in the review, i could see that the actual products were not the same. Sadly those buyers could not even tell and gave good reviews. Getting fittings from Taobao may end up more expensive in the long run as the items will require replacement much sooner because of the inferior quality. To get plumber to replace sanitary fittings and wares can cost more than the item itself. For loose furniture and decorations, it is fine if you aren’t concern with quality as products from china can look much nicer than what you could find locally.
I see they have some interior design tastes in common with me! Also, I like some of their very un-HDB interior design choices.

I had to do a double take when they talked about Bomb Shelter thinking it was a local vernacular for something like a Wet kitchen elsewhere in Asian countries but no after a little research it’s really a compulsory element - go figure. I worry more about structural integrity and load bearing when in a lot of these HDB videos people are removing walls in high rises. But apart from that good on their design initiative.

That's a very sad dining table. Visiting people are definitely going to sit at the kitchen island more than that sorry excuse of a table where the outer chairs are blocking the TV and everything is so cramped there.

Technically no, but usually nothing is done unless complaints are made.

How much is the mortgage btw 🤔
3-room flats in this location = not cheap! $500+K! Particularly due to its great location. Monthly payment is about $2K+ assuming an HDB loan is taken.

That is call abuse. A responsible cat parent will let their cat roam freely and sleep on our bed.
My cat is disabled so thanks for your concern. I don’t appreciate outsiders thinking they know better on how I should look after my cat. Do you know I have to manually express his pee every night before he sleeps becos otherwise he will pee all over the house? If not pls keep your comments to yourself. I'm wondering, how do you achieve that, especially since many products are still made/manufactured in China if you read all labels carefully, irregardless of brands and price points, especially electronic electrical products and accessories...
I mean I wanna boycott China products but it's literally everywhere 🤣
I ask myself if I absolutely need the product, and whether I am buying more plastic or environmentally damaging stuff. If the item is necessary, I try to look for one that is not made in China. If I cannot avoid products made in China, I then choose to buy from local shops because I want to support locals.
I like the spirit but Chinese are buying the entire Singapore with endless CCP money and theres nothing you can do about it
