Our oven has a “self cleaning mode” which you can turn on and it basically burns all the bits inside which you can easily remove afterwards! Maybe check the manual of yours whether it’s got that? Love from Germany x

Just a tip, I mix the soda with more water, vinegar essence, citrus acid and a drop of washing-up liquid. That does wonder and gets the dirt of pretty well
In my oven, the metal bits which hold the shelves in pop out. Makes it so much easier. I also recommend turning the oven on before you start with a ramekin of lemon water in it. Helps loosen the grime a bit. Obv turn it off and make sure it's not hot before you start cleaning!

Flash or any grease busting cleaning spray does the job for ovens. Always handy to keep some multi use cleaning products in the house. They work a treat on ovens x

Have a look at Mrs Hinch’s instagram for oven cleaning tips. The trick for the oven grates is to have the water still be hot while scrubbing them and it should come off quite easily.
The absolute best thing to clean the oven is Oven Pride. It's gross, but it works.

I use oven liners in my ovens and they are brilliant! Silicone type sheets that you cut to size and then, because I’m lazy, I just chuck them in the dishwasher, along with the racks. You then only have to clean the sides!
Lakeland oven cleaner gel. Paint on, walk away then wipe off. Used it for years, and no aerosols in the air when you use it
super shopper this stuff is the best ever. Highly recommended.
So happy it’s not just me who prefers the old GHD style! The sides of my original ones were like yours, so it treated myself to a new pair and they’re just not the same!

Pink stuff very good for ovens also CIF. Also use an oven liner. Keeps the bottom of your oven clean.
The best thing I've found for cleaning the oven with the least amount of effort is the Oven pride box cleaning kit. You just put it all on before you go to bed, let it sit and clean itself overnight and rinse it off in the morning. It also has a bag that you put the oven racks in that makes cleaning the racks so much easier as well.

Oven Pride works perfectly, without even scrubbing (both for the bottom of your oven, for the grates and the pannel). It just melts away everything and you only need to wash it off. You leave it overnight and the end result is astonishing. You can find the product in all supermarkets in the UK.
Download the couch to 5k app. I can’t run either but it really helps because you run for a minute then walk and repeat.
You should see ‘clean my space’ on TH-cam. She has lots of hacks for ovens 🙂

Hey :) FYI, the wipes needs to be 70 + % of alcohol to be effective .. just so you know because otherwise it's not efficient at all and you waste lots of wipes for nothing ! X

I think I’ve seen Nancy Birtwhistle put her oven racks into grass in her garden over night and all the burnt on bits came off! She shows all sorts of natural cleaning hacks on her instagram.
I love my self-cleaning oven. It’s not totally labour free, but you put the cleaning cycle on for a couple of hours and it gets crazy hot and burns all the grime off. Once it is cool, you just wipe the ash away with a damp cloth. 😀

I've found the best thing for the oven is a tub of The Pink Stuff paste. It's a mild abrasive and if you use it little and often it deals with your oven brilliantly.
Mrs Hinch has a highlight on her oven. She also uses liners at the bottom of the oven. She does a little & often method. It’s really helped me as I felt like I wasn’t winning at all in life when it came to the oven 🤦🏻♀️😭😬😂

Oh my gosh literally had the same oven fail. Started cleaning kitchen drawers then was going to tackle the oven. The baking soda trick didn’t work for me either hahaha oh well next time 😂
Lakeland sell black oven sheets that go in the bottom of the oven, they catch the food, grime, grease etc and then you can just brush the dirt into the oven- highly recommend they are so good
Vinegar with bicarb of soda. Wire scrubbers from the pound shop.

Also, soak shelves in the bath with bio washing powder - Smartprice will do. Everything comes up like new.
Yesterday I tried soaking my oven racks in the bath with a dishwasher tablet in hot water for two hours. Worked well. Or soak overnight with Napisan, then scrub with steel wool.
Oven pride is the best for oven shelves, and for the stuff stuck to the door - Elbow grease (it's the name of a product, not a euphemism) to get grease off and the Barkeeper's friend to rub all the stuff stuck/burnt to it. Works every time :)

I used baking soda and vinagre , not water. Takes the dirt without to much scrubbing. Sprinkle the soda dry and spray the vinagre on top , is amazing for the oven and for pots and pans.

Oven racks clean up lovely on a hot wash is the dishwasher and you can buy non-stick oven liners, to pop in the bottom of your oven
Oven cleaning- use a dishwasher tablet, dip into water then rub it onto the oven keep dipping into water as and when you need to once you’ve done wipe the residue off the oven with a damp cloth, works a treat!!

If there's a good thing that has come out of this quarantine for me, it's that my apartment has never been cleaner or more organized, now that I have all this extra time on my hands.
Edit: Love the healthcare worker/essential workers cheer, and love that it's a thing done in many countries around the world now. Here in Vancouver it's done nightly at 7pm for the last 2 weeks. And some person nearby clearly has some extra fireworks saved from Halloween so they set a few off each night to coincide with the cheer hehe.
When you've got the oven clean if you buy some liners to go on your shelves (and on the bottom but not if you have a heating element at the bottom) it'll keep it way cleaner going forwards.

Hi lily I bought fridge and oven liners and they’re so good. Easy to remove and wipe down
Lily try using the biggest tray you have, put it on the hub and fill with boiling water and washing powder. Then soak the other trays in it. Basically the water needs to be boiling. not soaking the stuff in hot water that will cool down quickly. That’s my mum’s trick.
The tiniest noise wakes my son from naps but he could sleep through a hurricane at night. It might be the difference between day naps and sleeping deeply at night. Ruddy binmen. They wake my son too. I always hate bin collection day.

I cleaned my oven, microwave and trays with W5 foam oven cleaner I don't know if they sell them in UK but here they are in Aldi and Lidl, it's amazing

You can get ovenpride bags for the shelves and they work amazingly
Try Cif too clean your oven .,or the pink stuff .. be carful with the pink stuff .,only use on certain materials . You must wear rubber gloves . For any kind of cleaning 💗

I bought this oven safe sheet protectors that you put down in your oven and then get it out to clean it it’s the best thing ever super easy to clean and super lightweight

Grey is right! That vaccuum cleaner is multi purpose. My son just learned how to walk because of our vaccuum cleaner. He is obssessed with it!
Lily, try spraying hairspray on a fine comb and then use that to get the little hairs down. I still have these years later! xx

For the oven, try the Koh diamond sponge! I wouldn't bother with the actual Koh cleaning product (it's good but nothing crazy special) but I will never bother cleaning my oven or shower without the diamond sponge again haha.
We use oven liners to help make keeping the bottom clean easier!
After the baking soda you should wait for like 30minutes then SPRAY vinegar on top , you will hear a sizzling sound that means it working then wipe it with a microfiber cloth!
My hair stylist uses a bit men’s hair balm to tame my baby hairs and it works beautifully.
This is a cheat but getting someone in to clean your oven is soooooo worth it. Comes up like new, costs me £60. Obviously would have to wait a while

I think I read somewhere to make a cleaning paste with baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and water to clean your flat iron/curling irons!! Lol, I had not watched you get to the oven part yet!!!😂😂😂😂
Oven pride, it’s a little bit smelly but if you wear gloves it comes up spotless!
Get a silicone oven liner, goes on the bottom and then you take it out and wash easily.
My child used dribble bibs regularly till he was 16 months he was soooo drooly with teething

Obviously not for now, but we have companies that come round to clean the oven and it comes out like new! So worth it.

For the oven - you can buy this spray in the supermarket - and you leave it for a while and then wash it off - it really works!
Oven Pride from most supermarkets and pink stuff if the oven pride doesnt work! Saying that oven pride has never failed me!
