Anyone who has bought this laptop (or any other in the Inspiron 5000 series, note the things I talk about below. 1) Overheating: This is by no means a gaming laptop, so the thermals suck compared to the capability of the processors inside. However, you can get decent game performance AND maintain thermal stability (and not letting your laptop fry) by tweaking some settings. In the power plan settings, set Processor performance boost to "Disabled." It is slightly complicated to do so, but trust me, doing that is very important if you want to use this laptop for more than a year. 2) Color Accuracy: The color "accuracy" is bad. However, you can have a very good viewing experience if you play with the color settings in AMD Radeon Software (for AMD Ryzen cpus only). Fix color temperature, increase saturation (vibrant colors) and decrease their brightness setting (better blacks). If you have more issues, I have probably found a fix for it by now. I just wanted to know your opinion about the thermals of this laptop and will its thermals allow the laptop to last for 3 years? My college is in an area where it may easily cross 40 degree Celsius during summers.

Been using inspiron 14 for 2 months now. Thanks, your review helped a lot in choosing it. While it is an amazing laptop, it gives me only about 4 - 5 hours with mid usage and the thermals generate more heat than expected. Having said that the design and performance is really amazing.
I would genuinely suggest turning off processor performance boost in the power settings. That setting causes temperatures on my Inspiron 15 5505 to sky rocket upto above 100C, which is dangerous for the hardware. With that turned off, I have peak temperatures of 60/70 C even while gaming, and 35/45C in general usage.
Is there a color difference between keyboards? I don't like the light grey one at all. Please let me know about which model has what keyboard color? It is mentioned no where.

I have the 14 already for work. It does not have 100% sRGB color gamut. I know because I looked up my technical details about my particular make and model of my Dell. I went to get the 15 inch version but they couldn’t confirm with me if it had 100% sRGB color gamut. So I returned it.

Just bought dell inspiron 14. I found out this laptop experience very high temperature even just doing light duty work such as ms office. The hot air exhaust design make it worse and the lcd screen became too hot.
i will buy the inspiron 15. the battery life is the same as mine. i can handle it but i will buy it for its camera and the big screen. j will use it for gaming and studying

i think the ones in Canada have 100% sRGB with 300Nits of brightness and the ones outside Canada have a lower sRGB with 250NIts of brightness

The one with the dedicated GPU defiantly has much lower battery life. This variant only has an integrated graphics chip (Iris Xe).

The only thing I don't like about this laptop is the headphone jack being on the right side which is on the way of me using the mousse.

I upgraded the SSD on the 14 and it won't detect it on reboots (beeps like a nuclear alarm). I can only do shutdown then turn on again. Sheesh.
