sir is it legal to use chain in tires during winter because the big trucks use chain during winter season although they don't have winter tires . and if legal why do people don't use it in Canada 🍁 ? is it due to mileage issues or anything else ?
It is not illegal on roads but if you damage roads you may be fined at some places. But no one uses it in or near big cities. Its mainly used in rural places or hilly places.
Nicely done Ravish. Your tips are spot on. Well I would like to add few additional important things - 1. Always check your tire pressure once a month especially during winter season even if you fill it with Nitrogen from Costco etc and ensure tire pressure is proper for your car tires. Many people don't install TPMS in their spare winter tires and having irregular tire pressure can also cause issues down the road. 2. Always keep an emergency kit in your car ( which has a blanket, safety lights , first aid kit and some other important things) and always keep plenty of water in your car. 3. Always keep your gas at 50% or higher during winter season and fill up sooner ( don't wait for it to go almost empty ) as you never know if you get stuck in long traffic jams due to accidents etc. Speaking about this from experience. 4. In snowy/icy conditions if you have manual gear ( or automatic/manual both ) then try starting your car from 2nd gear to avoid spin . I have seen many people spin from a red light itself ( for example starting from a Red Light use 2nd gear to start in icy conditions ). 5 . If you're on a slope coming down try to use 2nd/3rd gear instead of using brakes to slow down your speed( engine braking but go back to automatic as soon as you're down). 6. If you have locking differentials use those for slopes climbing up in slippery conditions and 4*4 low if your car is equipped for extreme icy conditions. If your car has 4*4 high/snow mode use those as well so your car cuts power a bit and it won't wait for a spin to act.
@@RavishVlogs thanks, hope it helps people. It's tricky to adapt to these conditions for new people especially , but if one keeps in mind all of these things they will eventually get a hang of it.
Very nice video you have covered most of the points I was looking for driving in Canadian winter. I'm not in Canada yet but in the process of immigration.
Always carry spare sets of clothes whether its undergarments, socks, warmer, shirts and pants. Also carry food and drinks, like high energy bar and drinks. Not to scare anyone, but most of Canada is rural once you get out of city centers. Whether you call AAA (CAA) or Uber or Taxi service it always takes time to reach. I remember we were driving outskirts of Calgary, skidded off the road. by the time we got out of the car and knee deep snow, our pants and shoes were all wet. Called AAA their expected time of arrival they said 20 minutes. We thought 20 minutes is nothing, but believe me those 20-25 minutes felt like life time in the winter.

Very good information mentioned thank you very much for your time and useful important information regarding winter driving precaution and useful tips so interesting vlog once again thank you very much I like it very much for my driving on road in winter Canada ni life
Brilliant video, informative indeed. Huge snow, -25 temperature more than 6 months harsh winter and all that it looks like life is too tough over there, tbh seems not live able. Still Canada is the best place for living as per rankings. What makes it number one place despite all that. Please make a video on this topic.
Great Intro ! :) Curious question (Never lived in Snow ) a) Why don't people park in garage (we don't have garages in houses usually in Europe but Canda houses seems to always have garage ), and avoid ice cleaning everyday b) I have heard that tesla milage reduces drastically with sub zero tem , is that true ? c) In case of accident or rear bumping accidents does insurance in canada cover that ?
Garage is always full of tools, lawn mower, extra tires etc etc. 😂 though we try to clear it in extreme winter and keep at least one car inside. Insurance covers accidents due to snow. But they can refuse of winter tires are mandatory in province and you don’t have. That’s why insurance is super expensive.
Hey Ravish, Any tip you have for driving in winter condition when the lanes are not visible due to snow. I know mostly with in an hour the roads in GTA gets cleaned but driving during snow storm checking the lanes are impossible.
Very nice & detailed explanation. Thank you for being so kind. I have heard about heated garage way which will melt ice. Is it expensive to install it ? Please comment in next video if u can

winter tires make any car a good car... but just for the car.... AWD (All wheel drive) are better than 2 wheel drive. FWD is better than RWD. if you go more technical and do off roading etc Subaru is amazing car... SUV's are slightly better than sedans....
bad idea, because then summer performance is bad, they don't stop very well in summers, and also because of softer material they wear out really fast, to ek saal mein ganje ho jayenge... 🤣
Winter tires are made from softer rubber compounds so they stay pliable in colder temperatures. The softer rubber wears away much faster in the warm temperatures. You can run winter tires all year but you'll have to replace tires more often.
