As an european myself I really don't understand the obnoxiousness of a loud American with a hangover disrupting a tour because she just wants to drink a bunch.... and expects them all to cater to her, instead of her looking into the French customs surrounding wine. And then calling out the tour-guide when she didn't get her way. Tana, you were a guest in a different culture, maybe behave a bit like it.
As an American, I don't understand it either. The self-centeredness is obnoxious. I'm always excited to learn about other cultures. Being respectful of the cultures you are a guest of is a requirement. She really needs to do better.

This has become my new favorite comfort channel. Also this would have been an amazing opportunity to show growth. With a lawsuit hanging over her head doubling down when Cynthia would not be half as renowned as she is if she really acted like that...I had high hope for Tana. I agree that she’s MEGA wrong with this, but i don’t think she’s a brat. That girl has been through it… her childhood/teen yrs sucked. Imagine your own parents (who didn’t take you to a single dr once, let alone try raising you) trying to sue you cause you made it out and have $ now… She isn’t perfect but she is definitely nowhere near as bratty or entitled as most people in that whole influencer scene. I'm really confused by this whole "she threw the first punch" thing. I've only seen Tana's retelling of this situation. It sounds like Tana was annoyed with her and she were annoyed with Tana. They were mutually annoyed with each other. The only person's conduct who sounded disrespectful...was Tana's. Tana's response after that was disproportionate to the event that happened. I used to work part time as a tour guide when I was still in Uni. Although I might have a different experience, but normally you don't decide on the program, the employer, be it an agency or a hotel or a business/corporate conference, decides. Sometimes you are literally given a day or two of advanced warning that you'd be going on a new route, so you're cramming as hard as you can the night before. Tours also have schedules that the guide needs to adhere to, because you've either got tickets for a particular time, have a meeting with someone scheduled or have to take a certain transport and if you don't follow the schedule, you have to write a report. I've had to write an accident report once for the return being delayed 22 minutes because a girl decided she needs to buy something. As a tour guide, you are responsible for the people from point A till the return back to point A, so it's totally reasonable for the guide to return with the group if they're cutting the tour short, especially if they don't know the local language, because the headache of searching for lost people while they were supposed to be under your supervision is something I wouldn't wish on an enemy. Personally, I don't know if I could have been as professional as Cynthia, because believe it or not, tour guides know when you are not interested and are there just to waste time and make fun of the people who are genuinely facinated by the history and culture of a place.
On another note, IM SO EXCITED REBECCA BLACK MESSAGED YOU!!! It's so wild as I'm currently living in a flat my parents have owned for many years and I first watched the Friday video here as my old youth group leader used to live here. I always say “keep your community in check”. If you’re not making it clear to your community on a regular basis what behaviour you will and won’t accept on your behalf, then you’re tacitly agreeing with what they do. When you hear about bad behaviour, you need to come out publicly and state that you don’t approve. That this is something that is absolutely not okay. Doing that on a consistent basis is how you foster a community of people who don’t do this.
finding out Cynthia is also a hugeee feminist and the vineyard was woman owned made me even more angry with Tana. i tuned into cancelled every week and when i first watched the episode although i didn’t judge Cynthia completely based off of Tana’s words, i still thought she was probably a stuck up individual who was picking on Tana simply because she was a pretty american influencer, then when Cynthias pages became known to the public i saw quite the opposite…Cynthia has replied to every single kind comment, DM, etc, showing her appreciation to everyone working to help fix her reputation, people who are simply interested in wine, and ive seen a few of her just casually interacting with her followers. Tana was really just acting like a little kid who doesn’t understand her power which is sooo disappointing because i found her and (especially) brooke to be one of the most entertaining podcasts to listen to but i can’t even listen to the content without feeling horrible that she almost took down a woman owned vineyard (which is VERY rare to come across)

Tana is too used to never having to face any real consequences to her career, I don't think it even occurs to her that her actions can have an actual impact on someone's livelihood. When she messes up she has thousands of supporters to bounce her back, but most of us don't have that cushion to fall back on. It sounds like Cynthia already had a solid reputation, plus the support of the internet to defend her so I doubt this will affect her in the longterm, but if Tana had criticized someone without either of those they probably wouldn't be able to come out of the situation unscathed.

I worked at a restaurant with a crackhead with the same first name as me and when people wrote yelp reviews that was like Victoria the waitress was falling asleep as she was serving us it also made me look bad and those were just regular people, not like people with multi-million follower platforms.

Not only did her story not line up, such as the timings, but Tana also has had past events happen to her and she makes dramatic story times about it and then later on gets called out for her lies. She shares her success with her real friends from before fame. That being said, she messed up big time with Cynthia and should be more involved in planning and understanding her days instead of other people doing it and simply telling her to “be here at X time”. Maybe then she wouldve known that a wine tour is not for her.

I'm really confused by this whole "she threw the first punch" thing. I've only seen Tana's retelling of this situation. It sounds like Tana was annoyed with her and she were annoyed with Tana. They were mutually annoyed with each other. The only person's conduct who sounded disrespectful...was Tana's. Tana's response after that was disproportionate to the event that happened. She acts like no one is allowed to be annoyed with her without bearing the threat of her audience's backlash. It's ridiculous.

I used to work part time as a tour guide when I was still in Uni. Although I might have a different experience, but normally you don't decide on the program, the employer, be it an agency or a hotel or a business/corporate conference, decides. Sometimes you are literally given a day or two of advanced warning that you'd be going on a new route, so you're cramming as hard as you can the night before. Tours also have schedules that the guide needs to adhere to, because you've either got tickets for a particular time, have a meeting with someone scheduled or have to take a certain transport and if you don't follow the schedule, you have to write a report. I've had to write an accident report once for the return being delayed 22 minutes because a girl decided she needs to buy something.
As a tour guide, you are responsible for the people from point A till the return back to point A, so it's totally reasonable for the guide to return with the group if they're cutting the tour short, especially if they don't know the local language, because the headache of searching for lost people while they were supposed to be under your supervision is something I wouldn't wish on an enemy. Personally, I don't know if I could have been as professional as Cynthia, because believe it or not, tour guides know when you are not interested and are there just to waste time and make fun of the people who are genuinely facinated by the history and culture of a place.

I always say “keep your community in check”. If you’re not making it clear to your community on a regular basis what behaviour you will and won’t accept on your behalf, then you’re tacitly agreeing with what they do. When you hear about bad behaviour, you need to come out publicly and state that you don’t approve. That this is something that is absolutely not okay. Doing that on a consistent basis is how you foster a community of people who don’t do this.

finding out Cynthia is also a hugeee feminist and the vineyard was woman owned made me even more angry with Tana. i tuned into cancelled every week and when i first watched the episode although i didn’t judge Cynthia completely based off of Tana’s words, i still thought she was probably a stuck up individual who was picking on Tana simply because she was a pretty american influencer, then when Cynthias pages became known to the public i saw quite the opposite…Cynthia has replied to every single kind comment, DM, etc, showing her appreciation to everyone working to help fix her reputation, people who are simply interested in wine, and ive seen a few of her just casually interacting with her followers. Tana was really just acting like a little kid who doesn’t understand her power which is sooo disappointing because i found her and (especially) brooke to be one of the most entertaining podcasts to listen to but i can’t even listen to the content without feeling horrible that she almost took down a woman owned vineyard (which is VERY rare to come across)
I think one thing to note about Cynthia potentially being rude to Tana is that we’re talking about tana. Like she’s obnoxious and irritating I would not be surprised if Cynthia got annoyed and was a little rude but like I wouldn’t blame her either.

Tana is too used to never having to face any real consequences to her career, I don't think it even occurs to her that her actions can have an actual impact on someone's livelihood. When she messes up she has thousands of supporters to bounce her back, but most of us don't have that cushion to fall back on. It sounds like Cynthia already had a solid reputation, plus the support of the internet to defend her so I doubt this will affect her in the longterm, but if Tana had criticized someone without either of those they probably wouldn't be able to come out of the situation unscathed.

Tana will probably continue to say Cynthia is the bad person in the situation, in order to try and not take accountability. I'm actually shocked people are still defending Tana over this, and are acting on Tana's behalf in order to continue belittling Cynthia into silence. They are practically doing Tana's dirty work for her. Not only did her story not line up, such as the timings, but Tana also has had past events happen to her and she makes dramatic story times about it and then later on gets called out for her lies. This situation could have easily been resolved off the internet. Tana could have spoke to Cynthia's team privately in order to come up to an agreement, instead she chose to be petty and take it onto the internet knowing she'll have some support due to her popularity. Tana ruined the trip for herself, and for the others who had to deal with Tana's tantrum. Personally I think Tana just saw this trip as a way to get drunk but that's just my opinion 🤷🏼♀️
