Dougo, it might be Chet's channel, but your participation is a gift to and a part of the success of the channel. Congrats to all for great UTube channel.
Weld a 6” angle ring on that auger transition for an access. Cover plate and a couple bolts and problem solved! Your millwright service should have done that for you guys. Very impressive that DougO was able service that!
you have been doing what you do every day for so long you have forgotten more than some people think they know I look forward to watching you every day and really wish I could be there to see what you do in person every day be safe god bless Chet is a lucky young man to have you as his father and mentor and best friend God bless you all Joshua from the Eastern Shore of Maryland
Dougo, you are by far the king of wisdom. Don't let a simple little thing such as a bolt get your goat. Everything happens for a reason in life and you overcame. You are the best......
I know the videos we get are always the censored versions, but I’ll bet Dougo has days when it takes all his strength to NOT use more colourful language. 😂😂 God bless him, he’s indefatigably hilarious.
Thanks Dougo for another great video. It was interesting to watch and I know frustrating for you to get fixed. On my. I have watched you enough to know that these bin operations can be very very frustrating. Everything is so close together and a lot of the bolts and such hard to get tools on and all that. Glad Eric could come and help get the bin system back together again. From what you showed us, it was not an easy area to work in. But in the end you got it fixed and moving corn. Yeah!!!!!!!!! Thanhs Dougo for showing and sharing with us the repair process. Oh my. Struggle bus for sure!!!!!!!’ Thanks for every thing Dougo. You take care and be safe. Hang in there. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
Weld the pulley to the shaft! Why use bolts to secure a pulley to a shaft anyways? If the shaft breaks you still have to pull the shaft out to repair it. Maybe use larger augers to empty the bins?
Sometimes praying before you bend the spud bar..lol I can't tell you how many countless times I have gotten into a jam...usually hours. Sometimes much longer before I call in the Name above all. Totally insane how it works that gives the answers, the physical ability, the dropped screw/ part is handled. Great stuff..Never force ..gently encourage.
They make small very thin spring washers with little teeth that lock into the threads that you lock onto those bolts to hold them in place so they won’t fall out and you don’t have to deal with that problem again.
That’s a great idea. Except in that situation, you’d need to lift that transition piece over the bolts then. Not sure it would be able to go high enough to clear 🤷♂️
It’s always something to fix and augers our one thing always to b fix plug or something broke or bolt missing .Doug you did your part but takes two people to get it done
Stupendous job Mr. Dougo! 👏 Bravo 👏…. You held your frustration! You didn’t get upset when the BS tore something up yet again! You wanted to call “THE GUYS” but you stuck with it & in the end Working Smarter and Figuring it out paid off in spades. I knew you could do it! We know where The Dream Team gets all their skills from!!! Much appreciation for you and ALL the people @ Larson’s Farm. Love watching your content! The struggle came and the struggle bus went!!!!
You still got it Dougo. Maybe consider buying a good 3/4 ton come-a-long or two. Maybe look at plastic washers to hold the bolts in place. Great video as always sir.
Now days most bin drags are a u troff style housing for bin augers and drags instead of round tubes. Makes it easy to work on. But we still have bins with tube flighting as well. Have a good 1.
What could I have done differently Dougo I ask myself that regularly. "Paid more attention at school" and not been a farmer is what I always come up with 😅😅.
On those carriage bolts the fish line is wonderful idea, actually it would be great for any place where bolts can drop down into a very tight unhandy spot.
Stove bolt = round headed slotted bolt. Hex headed machine bolts are better anyways! At the end I expected to see the Massey Ferguson tools (AKA)cutting torch (: ha!... (:
If your bin peeps would have put an access panel on the transition between bin auger and drag line you could have reached right in with your bolts. No fishing line
Hey Dougo how did that eye floater procedure work out for you in the end? So many of us are dealing with those pesky floaters. Maybe you could do a small video or a short clip for us on a upcoming video how your doing since that procedure? Thanks!!
The next time the grain system installers are out there ask them for a weld-on inspection door on the side of the auger tube right over the bolts. Installed grain handling systems for years, very common solution. Guys that have been doing it for a while would probably have put a door in there at the initial installation.
Sure google bodged the translations, but basically my trade. If things don't go the way they should, then it has to be the way it goes. It doesn't sound as catchy in English as Dutch... But you gotta make do with what you get and if it works it's not stupid.
I agree with Peter time to fabricate a inspection cover right where the shear bolts are located on the auger open it up renew the bolts put on the cover done
Your side loads on the bins. Do you ever worry 1 side of bin has that much less weight on the 1 side of the bin.? We don't use side draws on our bins up north That's our concern. So we always just have center draw hatch on our big bins?
Did you folks ever think about going old school with those bolts and nuts.. You know figuring out where the nut should tighten down to then putting a hole thru the bolt right after where the nut would sit once in place and putting a retention wire thru or even god forbid a carter pin. Much less chance of that bolt ever working loose ever again. Something to consider when ever you have to do one of these jobs again.
Dougo, it might be Chet's channel, but your participation is a gift to and a part of the success of the channel. Congrats to all for great UTube channel.
For sure ,Doug has emerged as a superstar .
Love Dougo dirrecting Steve…. “OK go ahead and backup” clear as mud… haha
Gotta love ya some Struggle Bus DougO' on a Sunday morning. 😍
Keep warm and safe guys. 🚜🚜🚜
You did a tough job in cold weather, and you made it tougher by videoing it. Thanks Doug.
Weld a 6” angle ring on that auger transition for an access. Cover plate and a couple bolts and problem solved! Your millwright service should have done that for you guys. Very impressive that DougO was able service that!
Good job dougo keep yourself moving forward and safe.
you have been doing what you do every day for so long you have forgotten more than some people think they know I look forward to watching you every day and really wish I could be there to see what you do in person every day be safe god bless Chet is a lucky young man to have you as his father and mentor and best friend God bless you all Joshua from the Eastern Shore of Maryland
Looks like a good place to fabricate an inspection plate
Maybe a split tube that bolts together at the sides. It seems like they should build it that way to access the shear bolts.
You can use nutserts to put in for that jobonthetube
I was gonna say the same thing,, make a side cover to open up and replace bolt
Dougo, you are by far the king of wisdom. Don't let a simple little thing such as a bolt get your goat. Everything happens for a reason in life and you overcame. You are the best......
As a sixty two year old man the fishing line trick is a thing I learned. God bless stay safe and above all thank you
did he show us?i missed it
I love ❤️ when Dougo does a video sharing his wisdom and sense of humor
Great job as always Dougo you are a star whether you want to be or not !!!❤❤
Gotta love a Dougo video!!😊
"You can fix it, yes you can!" Great work Dougo! I enjoyed the video after church. The only thing missing was to get Amy to hold the bolt. 😊
I know the videos we get are always the censored versions, but I’ll bet Dougo has days when it takes all his strength to NOT use more colourful language. 😂😂 God bless him, he’s indefatigably hilarious.
Been there, done that!. 25 years doing bin construction/repair, couldn't even count the times I've experienced those same struggles.
Thanks Dougo for showing us that you won for once That' great were happy for you and Larson Farms.
I think the bolt you referred to Dougo is called a carage bolt .
Tks for sharing Dougo
Thanks for taking us along for the repair glad y’all got it going always a good time with ya Dougo
Dougo it’s called patience!!!!! You conquered it! Great job! Great video! Chet was a good fill in. Have him back sometime!!!!😊
Love yall!
Good to see you Dougo, you are always a joy.
Glad that you got it all back together and working Dougo. Good work! 👍❤️
Yeah, these 60 degree, sun shiney days here in New Mexico have been a little rough too. The 10-30 MPH breezes can get a little cool.
Thank you, Dougo! I know how you love taking us with.😂 Chet is blessed to have a Dad who is a fix-it man. I know he has learned so much from you.
Thanks Dougo for another great video.

Dougo, A threaded wire used for installing trailer hitches in frame rail is what you needed.
Great video Dougo! You did the job and got it done.
Using a hammer on bolts, is called making locking thread!! Good job, always takes longer in the cold!! Even at 30 degrees
You always seam so under control. Videos are great
Ya gotta love Doug's video, great one Doug thanks
good job there , love watching you Dougo , all your bits in the vids are so good
A day in the life of Dougo.. Love it, keep em coming.
Doug, you make me glad I only work outside 5 days a week, instead of 7. Some days are easy, and some are a long trip on the struggle bus.
Dugo like my father always said brute force and perseverance always wins 😊
That corner room sounds mighty inviting...
Very ingenious solution to the blind carriage bolt problem Doug. One has to think outside of the box when difficulty arises.
Hi Doug. Rubber o ring around the bolt to hold it in place
Weld the pulley to the shaft! Why use bolts to secure a pulley to a shaft anyways? If the shaft breaks you still have to pull the shaft out to repair it. Maybe use larger augers to empty the bins?
No colder place on earth than a bin site in winter, good job though and every should have a “ little Bob”
2,000 views in 6 minutes at 24 mins! Thanks Dougo for the lesson.
Thanks for keeping us warm. Dougo.

Great job keeping your cool Dougo. 🙏
Dougo you are the man if it was an easy job anybody could have done it plus you videoed it thanks for sharing
Stay safe and warm and God bless you all!
Been in your shoes more than once 20 degrees out 90 foot grain leg bearing on top goes out ya up in Michigan
Looks like Doug has the most fun when he's fixing something

You could also use a 5/16 or 3/8 tube.send down after the motor is aligned insert carriage bolt then pull back back throgh hole.
Interesting way to put the bolts back in.
You are the man Dougo!
Your the best dougo never a dull moment .
You still got it Dougo. Maybe consider buying a good 3/4 ton come-a-long or two. Maybe look at plastic washers to hold the bolts in place. Great video as always sir.

A day on the farm with Dougo is a good day,,, solid gold Dougo 👍🚜👍
Good job Doug….!!!!
Dougo thanks for bringing us along, you make this Chanel enjoyable.
Love listening to Dougo’s running commentary.
Dougo at his best always good videos! God bless u guys and all farmers 🙏🏻🇺🇸
What could I have done differently Dougo I ask myself that regularly. "Paid more attention at school" and not been a farmer is what I always come up with 😅😅.
Persistence pays. Well done Doug-o!

9:03 wonder if you could use a clip nut on those bolts on the sheet metal instead of the fishing line
Correll, MN Today Sunday Feb 4th Hi of 44f / Warming up to 55f on Wednesday Feb 7th
Nice video, try to use nut certs and you probably won't have to use fishing line again. Thanks
If your bin peeps would have put an access panel on the transition between bin auger and drag line you could have reached right in with your bolts. No fishing line
Nice job Dougo!
Be a farmer they said! It’ll be fun they said!
You are doing great, I'm always tempted to put grade 8 bolts in instead but could create other problems too. Just another day on the farm.
Doug been there and done that feeding cattle at minus 30
Way to go Dougo! Good to hear from you
GREAT video Dougo! Alway enjoy your perspective on what you are doing.

Never doubt a farmer ta get it done.
Larson Farm’n🇺🇸
Good video Dougo stay safe !!
Dougo you take such good care of us. Like were are your own kids
Perseverance is the key and you showed us all you know what to do. Thanks for another good video.
Put nutserts in place of those nuts that you can’t reach. We have done that in places like that.
I love adventure times with Doug.
awesome job Dugo !!😊😊

Farm Life at its finest. Another job done on to the next Dougo!
Thanks 👍
Love the Dougo updates! But Dougo, you didn’t show us the fishing line trick???
The bolt with a rounded head, with the standard slot would be a stove bolt.
Thanks Doug.
Good job Dougo😊😊
Well I learned a new trick with the fishing line…ya think they would’ve made shear bolts easier to access.
Give you a idea use rivet nuts in spots works saves fingers and time good luck
Nice fix Doug!
thank you
