- Since we have Electric scooter Bajaj Chetak we were searching for public charging stations across city and came a cross Ather Grid Public Charging Station, visited it and tried to charge our EV kindly watch the vdo to get all details.
This is a much needed one.
There are many people here in Bangalore have Ather 450 or 450x, but rarely we see Chetak here.
It could be because non availability of Chetak and largely available of Ather 450.
If any one wants to buy Chetak, then they need to wait for long. But Ather, it's like going and buying a chocolate. It's readily available. Same day they give the delivery.
So the question is " is it worth waiting for Chetak" if yes, what are it's advantages compared to Ather.

Yes Ather has good presence in Bangalore, lets hope Chetak also will pick up market there.
you are right Chetak has lot of waiting period, I booked in FEB 2020 and got in my hand in OCT 2020.

As per my experience till date with Chetak yes it is really worth the wait, I am going to review Ather soon along with comparison with Chetak there I can give my opinion coz as of I have not tested Ather yet.
Chetak has no charge stations after 3years total waste
It didn't charge due to the black cover is not closed. When it becomes closed the red light will not glow. The plug connector is big one for which it is not closed. If try once more and make sure the black should be closed properly. Thanks Umesh
Umesh thanks for your response, sure will try next the same and will reply you back if we get success in charging our EV. black cover was not closed as the connector is big, however i doubt that is the reason for not charging. will check and revert.

We are waiting for it.
I am not sure Bajaj will bring model with removable battery, lets hope we all will wait for the same.
Can you review Safety Features of Chetak? Because no one talks about Safety Features of Electric Vehicles. [For Example:- if someone hit the Chetak Bymistake than it will not damage or leak the battery, Etc.]

Have you tried charging Chetak in any other public charging station?.
Chetak will not support Fast charging. Does that mean we can't charge Chetak in public charging stations?. How much time it takes to charge in public charging station ( if possible)?.
Yes we have recently charged chetak on other public charging station in one of the mall and made a vdo on it please watch. chetak does not support fast charging but that does not mean you can not charge chetak on other public charging stations. time taken in public charging station is same as it takes at home charging point 5 hours for full battery charge if it is 0%

Yes Pichle 5 moahine se mai ye electric scooter use kar raha hu, aur mai scooter se khoosh hu koi dikkat nahi aayi muze abhi tak, bahot hi aacha performance deti hai, jaroor aap bhi socihye EV ke liye aacha vichar hai.

I respect Bajaj past 20 years ago, I have 20 years old Bajaj chetak, gold in color, until now now problem, I have Bajaj electric scooter blue in color, best in class but charging point is not available near by me, so I to think to go long drive or not, Bajaj is my childhood scooter, so please provide charging🔋⚡ station, to move forward without tension
very good, it really nice to know you have old Bajaj Chetak from last 20 years and there are no issues at all till date wow, cherry on top is you have latest Bajaj Chetak EV as well, yes true there r no charging points in City lets hope pvt companies as well as govt will make many charging points around city so users of EV like you and me can use it for long journeys as well.

Charging socket lead need to be closed to start charging. Charger three pin is big so it is not allowing to close lead. So red light is blinking as soon as you close lead it will be green......
Very well said, but lead will not close with that big pin so it is not possible to charge with this type of charger.
It was a good video, but the problem which you faced was due to you didn't locked the seat during charging as beep sound was heard clearly, according to my study charging is not supported till we lock the seat properly; so please check once whether I am correct or no.
Thanks a lot for your comment and observation, after reading your comment we tired charging at our charging point by keeping seat open and it charged so thats not the issue, Chetak can be charged if incase seat is been kept open. I am going to visit other Ather Charging station soon and will try to charge on that lets see what happens.

Thanks for Information, however one of my friend who has bajaj Chetak used one of the Ather charging station to charge his scooter and he was successful, will check some other station as well.

Pls note you have big plug point of you scooter charger and once ather grid socket point detect lid open or half open it will not allow you to charge of you see this kind of problem use extention code not big size power socket . It's problem with Bajaj power socket size .

I think that you have not connected the charger correctly as per service manual the wire of mains should come under rear hand support and the seat should be lock otherwise battery wont charge anyway thk for your information good luck
Cable was connected properly to scooter and seat also was locked but the point was on the charging station that lid was not getting closed and untill it is not closed fully it wont charge.
Hu will wait for long hrs..Incase of emergency..

I have same chetak I'm also trying charge ather grid same issue ather charging cover not close proper and not change green light you try proper close charging cover and change green light start charging
Yesterday I did my ather charging in Navi Mumbai at midtown Yogi hotel.
Only 5 to 7 % charging in 1 hour 45 min.
Worst experience i have yesterday

Yes very well said, I took chetak to Ather showroom and tried there as well so same thing is told by the Ather technical person until the lid is not close it will not start charging.
I am booked this chetak at 14 april 2021 that time his price 1.27Lack not at the delivery time bajaj increase price 25k.Now his on road in pune is 1.52 Lack there for i am cancel my booking..Shame on bajaj this is not right way for increase your scooter price.

I think they have not given earthing to that charging point because Ather get charged without earthing so first ask them is the earthing is connected or not
Please review Ather 450x being a Chetak owner and let us know your honest opinion on which one is good to buy.

Mai Ather ke showrrom me bhi jake aaya, waha pe bhi charge nahi hua, aur wo charger ke upar wala cap band nahi hota kyuki charging pin hai wo jada hai, technician ne bhi yahi problem bataya so filhal koi solution nahi hai.

What you said is correct Chetak Do not support fast charging, I dont think Ather has given fast charging point, one of my friend had charged Chetak on Ather charging point so its not fast charging I guess the station was faulty, I am going to visit some other Ather Grid charging station will keep you all updated about my experience.

Seat lock karke bhi dekha nahi hua charge, finally mai Ather ke showroom me bhi gaya par waha pe bhi charge nahi hua waha ke bande ne bataya wo jo dhakkan hai charging station pe wo band hona chahiye tabhi charge hoga aur chetak ka 3 pin bada hone ki wajaha se wo cap nahi band hota to charge nahi horaha.

What is your experience about bajaj chetak. Is any difference in range after some time?
Hi Pratik, its been almost 10 months we are using Chetak and our experience so far is very good, we have not faced any single issue so far, and performance is also same as it was bought new, we will make long term user review soon and will post so all your questions will be answered.

Hi Ajit, seat close karke bhi try kiya nahi hua, iske bad mai Ather ke showroom me gaya waha bhi same issue aaya to waha ke technical person ko bulake dikya to usne rectify kiya ki jo charging lid hai wo puri close honi chahiye chetak ka 3 pin socket lagane ke bad lid close nahi hoti kyuki wo bahot thik hai uski wajaha se charge nahi hua.
