Bajaj Chetak electric is a fantastic scooter, and I've been very impressed on the test drive as a lady driver. Very stable, and body quality and handling are excellent. No engine noise (little scary considering pedestrians and other vehicles on the road), no vibrations, smooth linear pickup. I wish the next models come with better range, with LFP battery chemistry (in Indian weather) improve the visibility of the dashboard in daylight, provide sturdier, more functional luggage hooks (the peep out hook is not enough), retain the excellent headlight and drl. Other competitors are offering better range, fast charging, and on board navigation- if newer models and Bajaj elctric variants could improve on the legacy of this impressive electric scooter, it will be a good thing for Chetak electric fans like me. Dedicated service centres- kudos to Bajaj for introducing this. Thanks PluginIndia, and look forward to more videos on the Chetak in the future.
I have no doubt that Chetak is a great product. But there are a few grudges that I can't get over 1. It's way too expensive for what it offers. At that price, I expect full touchscreen, navigation support, BT and lifetime free software updates. 2. I haven't seen a single Chetak in my city Chandigarh till today even in Nov 2022. They just don't have that kind reach in North India. Ola scooters are plenty here now, along with Hero Electric 3. I hope they come up with drive sounds soon. Silent drive is a bit nerve wrecking for many of us like you mentioned above.
@@atulmalhotra2303 Yes, the price is exorbitant, that too for a 90 km range offering NMC battery EV scooter with no fast charging, on board navigation, app support, poor suspension etc. I've tried the Ather 450X too, been impressed by its handling and grippiest breaks, but as a heavy person, the chassis is too light for me. But at least the Ather has that whine that alerts people on the road. and now with 3rd gen offering 100 plus range, and proven gradability (incline and off road capability) , heat management capacity etc, Ather seems a much much better proposition. What Bajaj had in its favour is only the build quality and engine refinement- it seems for now. And you are right, as much customer reviews or reputation that Ather 450x enjoys, the same cannot be said for the Chetak. The refinement of the Chetak is so reassuring though. This is my perspective as a woman scooter driver. They have a very good product on their hands, only if Bajaj would think of improving upon these aspects in future models, as I dont think they dont have OTA update mechanism (like in Ola or Ather) which can update current Chetak ev's on the road already.

I have never been a fan of (mostly) exposed rear tyres in scooters, so Ather puts me off instantly. I haven't test driven it, but again I have no doubts about them as far as the product quality and software goes. I don't mind the pricing too. 2. The major problem is again their reach. I have not seen a single Ather on my city streets even in Nov 2022. Like Bajaj are focused on the west and the south, Ather too have little and no interest in North India. I learnt recently that they do have an outlet in Ludhiana but there is no way I am going 120 kms away to test ride a vehicle I don't even like on first look. Ather needs to have an experience centre in my city asap if they want to target leaders Ola and Hero. It's a different story altogether that I am not able to bring myself to buying Ola as well inspite despite being my best option right now. I am very wary of paying someone 1.6 lakhs upfront and then wait like a moron. Waiting times are reported to be anywhere between 30-60 days and customer service helpline is probably the worst I have seen among major brands. TVS iQube ST seems a great option but bookings for that open again in January and deliveries start not before April 2023. The variant hasn't even been seen by dealer outlets. They have a few other issues with their 2 available variants,( like they are charging 5000 rupees for every software update they would release) but at least they have brick and mortar outlet/ service centres in my city.
@@atulmalhotra2303 Atulji, I see at least two Athers and 2 Iqubes and 2 Ola S1 pros and at least 3 Tata Nexon ev's on a daily basis on our roads here. Very reassuring picture here in my tier 2 city.. At least a few charging stations dotted all over our city. Ather's mudguard is a problem reported by users.. Pillion and the green name plate or lights are at risk of getting road ka keechad and paani over them.. in rains.. at reasonable speeds.. Early adoption of ev technology is not without its issues I guess. Issues of practicality, rider, pillion and pedestrian safety, easy serviceability, range anxiety, access to charging stations etc, might get better with time..I hope. Reducing running costs and carbon footprint is an undisputeable benefit though. All the better for consumers like us. Initial costs are an issue, thats for sure..

I think the shock absorber are not well designed for single passenger, it works good on double seat . Otherwise it is very harmful for single seater. Sir please do a servey about shock absorber experience with the chetak owners
I have a question for Plug in india team , what will be the cost of changing 7 inch screen if damage for ola ,ather ,simple one & etc , as they are the primary tool of the vehicle to communicate between both owner and vehicle for information. And Should companies give option for digital meter or touch screen meter , Which will be a big cost difference for customer's buying electric two wheeler 🖖 Most customer don't need new age features as they are use for few days after buying vehicle then left Basic information of speed , range indicator are enough
Good point. TVS offers two basic variants without touchscreen. But Ola has made touchscreen standard. Replacement cost in case of damage hasn't been discussed by Ola or any other company. In case of even a minor fall, the touchscreen could get damaged and the user might be locked out of even starting the scooter. He can be left stranded on the road, which could become dangerous especially for girls.

I had purchased the Bajaj EV 8months back at Hyderabad, from 4 days Iam unable to unlock my EV, informed to service centre, no response, today they told bring the vehicle to the Workshop by using the Insurance towing. Bajaj service is like this. Please think before buying Bajaj EV.

App in a word is glitchy....to say the least. I have a 2413 model, the app recently showed a OTA update available, and it showed before installing it showed I won't be able to ride my vehicle while installing. The update took 2-3 DAYS to complete as per the app and I was able to ride it while it was showing status INSTALLING on the app. Recently the app stopped working from about 3rd November till 10th....i mailed them and they took about 2-3 days to solve. The vehicle is nice and made with pure heart but it seems the app is made in "KHUNAS"😂. The app management is negligible
Problem with ice manufacturers is that they need to put a service timeline for an electric scooter so that they and dealers can make money. Only ola is doing the right thing with no compulsary service timeline.
Nowadays Chetak ev is getting auxiliary battery issues repeatedly, their auxiliary batteries are exide and it gets dead in just 6 months on purchase, i purchased chetak premium my battery is complete dead now, their exide batteries are worst and auxiliary battery charge level gets down easily i don't know how they can fix this issue
A technician is giving worng informatio In service station no charing board is placed customer is misguided and it is also come in deficieny in services. Company has to provide list of spareparts with price. Why company is not providing the same while purchasing the scooter.

Hi Sir , No doubt about scooter performance but found service center people not working properly and not having proper knowledge about technical things. Also, vehicle came for servicing mechanic's and manager not pay attention towards customer. Once vehicle came servicing at least 10-15 days we have wait for update. I also noticed mechanics swap good spare from one vehicle to another vehicle without customer permission . I have very bad experience from Wagholi and Phugewadi service station . Mechanics are not well trained and not having even basic knowledge about electronic and even they don't bothered about inconvenience of customers. I complaint to Chetak directly let's See what happened.

Recently I was there to service my vehicle. Most pethetic experience, They doesn't have proper tools, Air pressure machine, No washing centre. All the staff members busy in chewing Guthkha. If you ask them what you did into servicing they will answer software update. Nothing else and charge you 354/- Worst experience
Actual after purchase of Bajaj EV I have go for servicing in KTM service centre Rajkot since two months After so many efforts and discussion with customer care company throughly deny for change the spare parts. In view of the same I request all people donot purchase the same.

Third Class Service Network with all paid service and laughing thing is normal service cost varies how didn't know It cost 757 Rs for first service to me with zero parts consumables in Panvel @bajaj how can you explain?
Baja chetak EV servicing is real fake.They never do any servicing. They dont have any spares. They never give any warranty what ever is promised when the vehicle was purchased. These service centres make you run around if there is some issue with the vehicle. When they make you run around 5 to 6 time the customer tend to give up and get way from them. These service centres also steal spare parts from vehicles when deposited for servicing. Bajaj chetak ev is closing down soon due to poor sales and pathetic services. Never buy this vehicle and loose your money. I threw my vehicle in the garbage when it failed, even if you want to do repair on your own spare parts are not available. Their software is locked and not open source. So only option is to throw this vehicle or remove their OEM parts and customize as per your requirement. Why get into all this and loose your money. Just go for some good brand.

Actual after purchase of Bajaj EV I have go for servicing in KTM service centre Rajkot since two months After so many efforts and discussion with customer care company throughly deny for change the spare parts. In view of the same I request all people donot purchase the same.

Baja chetak EV servicing is real fake.They never do any servicing. They dont have any spares. They never give any warranty what ever is promised when the vehicle was purchased. These service centres make you run around if there is some issue with the vehicle. When they make you run around 5 to 6 time the customer tend to give up and get way from them. These service centres also steal spare parts from vehicles when deposited for servicing. Bajaj chetak ev is closing down soon due to poor sales and pathetic services. Never buy this vehicle and loose your money. I threw my vehicle in the garbage when it failed, even if you want to do repair on your own spare parts are not available. Their software is locked and not open source. So only option is to throw this vehicle or remove their OEM parts and customize as per your requirement. Why get into all this and loose your money. Just go for some good brand.
Chetak is extremely overpriced... Hope they can reduce the price to 110000
