Solar tint is a really good idea as my glass windows get so terribly hot. I have shades but the heat of the sun is shining in through the shade anyway.! I will try the tint or window film. Thank-you for this information.
The blue and red spectrum should come thru on any reflecting film. The plants will be okay, but get less lighting. In other words, if your ficus plant needs high lighting and you put film on the window, ...check to see if the lighting is still high enough.
Where can I buy the 3M Prestige Film for my windows ? I'm having a hard time finding it online.

The % is just the shade? So doesn't matter what shade is it going to do the same?
3m has a pressure sensitive adhesive that breaks down with heat
What about when you want the sun warmth in the winter? You are losing 60 percent of that!?! That will run up your energy costs.
what about plants? having plants by the window, would the window film kill them by blocking UV?
shouldnt affect plants as the light spectrum that plants need is not filtered.

No it doesn't affect the plants. Plus the sun will kill the plants when they are in strong sunlight. At least it has happened to me. 👋 bye
How much cost?
