Literally moments later, and they cut to a shot of John backstage in disbelief. I still say he should have been out there with Randy, if only because his dulcet tones helped in the win. (Wait, is THIS why I calls him Boss? We were too drunk to remember all that night a couple years later.)
I love this song, and I really like this performance. John Goodman is one impressive actor, from playing a villain in 'The Borrowers', playing Fred Flintstone, voicing Santa Claus in 'Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: The Movie', and even voicing James P. Sullivan in 'Monsters Inc.' He certainly is a genius in the well-known profession of acting!
@@jjsedino You can't leave out Steve Buscemi(Randall), Jennifer Tilly(Celia), James Coburn(Waternoose) and most certainly Mary Gibbs(Boo) Sure the latter never did anything after Monsters Inc., but at least she was lucky to work with some stars of the 90s.
Even tho I prefer the movie version with Billy Crystal, this version is still really awesome! The legendary John Goodman sounds great with Randy Newman.
@@Official_GoldVader some days, I feel like I’m the only one who appreciates that movie. Just remember: it would have co-starred Jim Belushi as “Zee Blues” if A2Jim hadn’t been greenlit! Just think of the stank coming from it then!
Sadly they didn’t want to gamble with the cost of animating such a scene. Because if they didn’t win, then the animated performance wouldn’t even be played.
John Goodman is a good loving gentle giant I understand that he lost all that weight for his help to stay alive longer which I understand because I'm kind of the same thing he is I'm a big woman but I'm strong hearted just like he is and I will never give up he sings Good To Love and Music he's a grandfather I wish I could have
That’s A Good Song And I Wonder If Philip Seymour Hoffman Did A Cover Of That Song Since John Goodman Was In 2 Movies Monsters Inc Movies And The Big Lebowski Both Of These!
This has an amazing tune, rhythm and vocal delivery but the problem with it I find is that it doesn't last for that long and is too short, it's building up much but it the ending is too quick like a beggining and end, not a beginning, middle and end, or like in movies a first, second and third act.
John's had classical training during his college years and beyond. He's usually provided his own vocals when needed, all the way from Roseanne to Pixar movies to Blues Brothers II. He's no stranger to the theatrical stage, either, and picked up most of his vocal training from there.
John Goodman is a national treasure.
Wait! If he's here, Where's Billy Crystal?......... You know, the voice actor for Mike Wazowski. WHERE IS HE?!!!!!!!!!!
Indeed
@Amanda Hahl CONFLICT?!!!!!! AAAAAAUGH!!!!!!!!
But Randy Newman is a national treasure too..
(For Pixar)
John Goodman is, was, and always will be my favorite actor
I really want to see John Goodman and Billy Crystal do a live performance of this song together
Me too! That would be so wholesome!!
I mean,i like this one too!

Randy as in Randall or Randy as in Randy Newman?

Yes, but not in this case.
John Goodman and Randy Newman are amazing singers.
And Billy Crystal.
John is already on the Grammy winning "Big River" cast soundtrack, long before he met Barr.
Goofy. Not bad, just goofy.
Totally! Their voices go so well together.
@@jjsedino Yeah! Too!
This was a good song. Newman won an Oscar.
My Mom just comfort me due to a disappointing loss on the animated film, since I was 12 year old.

Pretty good song, shouldnt have won imo
Then Newman won another oscar for Toy Story 3 song "We Belong Together".
