I like what pastor Mark has said in the past about this. “I’ve had life without Christ, and life with Christ- it’s better with Christ.” So true! I just read the verse the other day talking about those who lose their life for His sake will find it (Matthew 6:25). It’s not for the faint of heart but so much better. This is not our home. I have to remind myself of that all the time.

@A_Pie323 The world reminds me that I don't belong every day. I love to read about the apostle Paul and how he endured until the end. All I can think of is seeing Jesus one day in heaven. Stay strong in Christ!
      2 Tim 4:7-8
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

I went through a divorce and my church handled it in a social justice way and put loads of pressure on me that I was a violent angry man that needs to go to family violence training. I'm not saying I'm an angel but it wasn't redemptive they (one pastor really) were trying to break me.
I left the church, I didnt want to but the pastor said I can't lead my small group anymore and policy is any history of family violence means you can't be a minister... like ever. Also at the same time a spiritual hero of mine got cancer and died.
I have intrusive thoughts that say I should end it or get back into addiction. It's obviously spiritual oppression and I've been fighting it and asking God to help. I told the only older Christian friend I have left who said I'll pray for you, got 90% better within a week.
    3 things I've found helps
    - find something constructive to do
    - tell and ask trusted Christians to pray for you
    - do not under any circumstances give in to the thoughts and do what they are suggesting.

Question: I’ve had family that say they believe and pray and whatnot. I’ve only recently realized there was a reason I never felt right in the Mormon church. Those family members (before I’ve started to read and listen to sermons and the Bible on audio book.) they would call me the faracies and use the Bible against me and things I’d never heard of. Can I forgive these people and my “parents” for things they’ve done and be in the right not speaking to them or interacting with them afterwards?

    vs
    substitutionary atonement
Christus victor pastors have become very liberal and they view everything through a lenz of love. Our old church preached that hell was not a place of eternal suffering and torment, that hell was more like a prison sentence where you serve your time and then become nothing, this was an effort to try and paint God more loving for the outside world.

2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
...by our gathering together unto Him....
2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
    ...day of Christ...
    2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
...that day (when we are gathered to Jesus/day of Christ)... will not arrive until the apostasy happens and the man of sin be revealed. He even warns you not to let any man deceive you in these matters.

Hearing a pastor say he doesn't like talking with people who aren't saved. They don't talk about spiritual things.
How can they know about spiritual things?
By having someone with some ability to tolerate discomfort, and hear about hardships.

The Church is the Body of Christ we lost the Vision that were two or three are gathered in the name of Jesus we have Church, Church can be under a tree, on a hill, in the valley or in your home we are not limited to four walls.. It’s good to gather together and build each other in the Faith but in reality the Church is not what it used to be. We need to return to the old path for where the Spirit of the Lord is there is Freedom and the Spirit of the Lord brings Change in the hearts of men women and children

@@Nightjar726 The bible says He is not a God of confusion. If you don't understand the pagan trinity, then you should learn about the history of it (and recognize that most false religions practice the trinity).

I've met those christians... I tried to tell them god can carry their burden and give them forgiveness if they seek him. Then they sought to take out their frustrations on me. And i had to ask god to take away their burden they put on me.

I think the sheep are leading the sheep. So they're headed towards the den of wolves. But telling the sheep they're headed to a greener pasture. And I think it's apart of God's plan. That very few sheep will be saved. Most will be lead to slaughter.
